Narla walked into her quarters and tied into the marine channel and placed a call to Klavor. Cyndi’s mother Tasha came on as soon as the link was established. “Your Majesty, how secure is this link?”
“Very secure,” Tasha said “What can I do for you?”
“My name is Narla Long, I’m with Starfleet Marines and I need to tell you something.”
Tasha nodded I know who you are Duchess,”
“I don’t get called that very often, please call me Narla.”
“And my name is Tasha, what do I owe this conversation to?”
“There’s no easy way to tell you, Cyndi was holding a department briefing when she was beamed off the ship,” Narla said
“Who has my daughter?” Tasha asked the fear clear in her voice
“A man who calls himself Commander Usher of the Old Republican Guard,” Narla replied
“Did I hear you right? Did you say the Old Republican Guard?” Tasha asked
Narla nodded “You did.”
“That old guard disbanded long ago, back after Klavor was admitted to the Federation. My father was in power at the time. I believe it’s been a good fifty years or so. Some of the old guard did stay active for a short time and they eventually became part of the Klavorian Military. Narla if what you say is true Cyndi is in grave danger,” Tasha said
“I figured as much, I’m more concerned for you, the King and her son. My advice is get someplace safe. I don’t know what he wants. Lock your planet down,” Narla responded
“It’s being done as we speak, can you get a message to Paul?” Tasha asked “Tell him with Cyndi being taken I’m changing the planetary and Palace defense codes, and assure him I’m getting Brent to safety. I’ll send him the new codes on the diplomatic channel,”
“I’ll tell him, and I assure you Cyndi’s first officer Lieutenant Commander Kahn is not going to stop until we have your daughter back, she’s assumed command. I’ll keep you posted,” Narla promised
“Thank you Narla, I’m not telling my grandson as he’s too little to know. Just get my daughter back and in one piece,” Tasha said
“You have my word Your Majesty,” Narla said closing the channel
