The day had been long for the McTavish's between the morning briefing and hours spent at the Science Stations. The only good part of the day was that they had located the Commodore and the XO had given the coordinates to the extraction team.

After they exited the Bridge James turned to Heather "So what do you want to do about Supper" he asked.

Heather thought for a moment "I'm really bushed....maybe get something at the Lounge so we don't have to cook or cleanup" she replied.

"That's what I was thinking....I'm right there with you on being tired...this has been a very long day" James stated.

{Deck 10}

The couple made their way to the Lounge and walked in then found a table before going to order their meal.

James led the way to the counter to place his order "I would like a big bowl of beef stew with a couple slices of bread" he said.

Heather ordered next "And I'd like a dinner salad with french dressing and a roll" she informed the Cook.

After they sat and started to eat Heather couldn't help but mention the afternoon's events "So James....are you disappointed that the XO didn't really give you a kiss on the cheek" she asked with a giggle.

James stopped chewing and looked at Heather "No...not at all...matter of fact I was relieved considering a few Star Fleet Regs would have been broken if she had" he answered wondering where Heather was going with this.

Heather just smiled "Well since you have been kissing strange women lately....I just figured at least this one you at least knew" she replied.

James just looked at Heather and sighed "You're never going to let me forget kissing that Cardassian women are you" he answered.

Heather giggled "Nope...I'm going to get as many miles out of that as I can."

James snickered "Yup...I should have known. Anyway the warrior's handshake that Liza gave me I think meant more to her than an actual kiss would have. We were just doing our jobs, but the special recognition was nice" he concluded.

"All kidding aside....you're right you know....but it was nice for the XO to acknowledge it anyway" she said.

The couple finished their meal after awhile of sitting and talking when James said " You ready to home and have a drink or two. Besides a shower it would nice.....and relax for a bit."

"Most definitely....and a nice shower sounds good to me" Heather replied.

{Deck 5 - Quarters}

The couple returned home...James poured a couple of drinks while Heather grabbed a quick shower. When she was finished they sat on the couch enjoying their drinks and relaxing. After a couple of drinks James said "Ok my turn....I could really use a shower." So off he went.

When James had finished his shower he dressed for bed as Heather entered the bedroom "I don't know about you but I think I'm going to turn in early" she stated. James nodded in agreement.

Holding Heather in his arms "I just wanted to say thanks for all your help today....it really made my job a lot easier and I couldn't have done it without you" James commented.

"Anytime sweetheart....I'm always happy to help" she replied then gave James a kiss. James smiled and soon the couple were off to sleep after a rather exhausting day.
