Mission:
Weapon Investigating
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Morning after the party
Making her way to Sickbay Ellie stepped through the doors and looked around, she needed to check in and make sure that her plans with Yova to have a baby would go off without any hitches. Seeing Kristian across the room she offered a smile as she approached him.
"Excuse me Doctor" she smiled warmly. "My husband and I are planning to start a family, I'd just like to check that I'm ... well that my body is ..." she paused. "I just need to know that I'm ready to conceive.
"Follow me to the rear where we can have some privacy while I do the exam," Kristian said as she led the way to a private room in the rear of sick bay "Hop up on that bio bed."
Ellie nodded. "Thank you, it must seem odd someone coming in to ask for a pre-pregnancy check-up, I just want to be sure that I'd be able to have the child of a Bajoran when I'm a hybrid myself."
"My mum's Amazon, dad's Human and Raffie and I turned out fine," Kristian assured her picking up her medical tri-coder. Then there's the commodore. She's Klavorian and her husband is Human and they share a son. So there is no reason why you can't." Kristian set to work running the scans and drew a blood sample as well.
Ellie smiled warmly, "This has all come as somewhat of a surprise actually, one minute my husband is saying he doesn't want to rush into having kids, and the next he's claiming to have had a vision from the prophets saying that we're going to be the parents of the next emissary!" She shrugged her shoulders. "I have no idea what that means but who am I to refuse having a baby!" she grinned.
"I'd like a family one day, but I don't want to rush into it and I want to make sure it's right and we both agree. But since there's no one in my life currently there is no chance I'll have a baby anytime soon," Kristian commented as her tri-coder beeped Looking at the readings then to Ellie "Well your already pregnant. Only a couple of weeks, the commodore will need to be told as your not going to be permitted on any away missions. It's far too dangerous."
Ellie opened her mouth to speak before rapidly closing it again. It took a moment before she spoke. "I'm pregnant!" She sat with a silly grin on her face for a few moments before shaking it off. "That's ... wow. I'll admit we did spend most of our honeymoon locked away enjoying ourselves but I never imagined this would happen so soon. I should call Yova."
"I have another surprise for you, I'll wait for Yova to arrive before I tell you," Kristian said
Ellie looked at Kristian curiously. "A surprise? I can't wait!"
Tapping her comm badge Ellie smiled. =^= Odac to Yova, can you please come to Sickbay? =^=
" On my way," Yova replied
< A few minutes later >
Once Yova arrived Ellie gave him a beaming smile. "It seems our honeymoon was more productive than we thought, I'm pregnant! Plus Kristian said she has more surprise news." She looked at Kristian.
"My scans and the blood sample I've run and taken, well your not having one baby but three," Kristian said "It's triplets, congratulations. I suggested you inform the commodore as soon as possible as your also going to need bigger quarters. Congratulations the two of you."
Ellie's mouth dropped open. "Wh ... what!? triplets!!" she leant back against the biobed as she suddenly felt weak in the knees. She looked at Yova. "I'm willing to bet the prophets didn't say anything about this!?"
" Triplets? Is that normal Doctor?" Yova replied
Kristian nodded "Twins are more common but yes it's possible. And there is the proof. Your wife is pregnant with triplets. I'm going to want you to take it easy for a while."
Ellie nodded still flabbergasted by it all. “That is not a problem. I do have some work I need to do but I can sit down in the lab to do it. That’s if I can concentrate on it!”
"For the next few days I don't want you in the lab. I know there are good filters in there and air purification as my cousin wouldn't have it any other way. But there are still smells and such in there," Kristian said "You'll be having morning sickness and you'll not be able to handle that along with the smells things in the lab."
“Isn’t it a little early for morning sickness?” Ellie looked at Kristian curiously. “You said I was only two weeks, and doesn’t that usually continue for a few months? I can’t avoid the lab for months.”
" Ellie we can discuss this back home. Thank you Doctor," Yova encouraged.
Ellie nodded. “Sorry I didn’t mean to sound like I was questioning your advice Doctor. Thank you for this, I’ll follow your orders.” She hopped down off the biobed and took hold of Yova’s arm.
"I understand, the only reason I mentioned the lab was because currently the commodore's pet snake is in there. Tara is doing a research project with it with the commodore's permission. I don't need to tell you what they eat. I'll tell you this, if your able to do your job I'll permit it. Right now you two have a lot to discuss," Kristian said "Come see me in a few weeks and I'll start you on vitamins."
Nodding Ellie smiled at Yova as they departed Sickbay, it seemed their destiny had just taken a considerable turn.
