After Nix's meeting with Lieutenant McKeon, the Lieutenant JG found her way to Intelligence to check out the Department's Tech Toys.

Upon arriving in the secured area Nix noticed a young, attractive female Ensign holding the keys to the castle "May I help you" the Ensign asked with one hand resting on her phaser.

Nix smiled "I'm Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen the new Infiltration Specialist" she replied while keeping one eye on the Ensign's hand "I'm here at the behest of Lieutenant McKeon to check the Tech for any upcoming missions."

The Ensign immediately removed her hand from her phaser and smiled back "Welcome Lieutenant JG Dunjen.....sorry about that but Regs are Regs....I had to make sure you belonged in this area despite the black uniform" she explained.

"That's quite alright Ensign, I would have done the same thing myself. Actually I'm here to check out the Tech before any missions come my way....I like to be well prepared ahead of time" she explained.

"Don't blame you at all...an Infiltration Specialist...sounds exciting" the Ensign stated "And by the way I'm Kira Foreese, Ensign that is."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ensign Kira Foreese....my job may be exciting but it's also very dangerous at times" came the reply "So where is the Tech that I heard about from the Lieutenant."

"Oh I'm sorry...right this way." So Nix followed Kira into a room with a rather large wall cabinet which she proceeded to unlock and swung open the doors "Here you go...the latest and greatest Star Fleet has to offer" the Ensign said "I'll leave you to it and be back later to check on you." Nix nodded as Kira went back to her post.

Nix was like a kid in a candy store....all this great tech just for the picking "Check this out old friend....look at all this Tech just begging to be used" Nix thought being quite giddy at the moment. "I'm sure glad you know what this stuff is for...I don't have a clue....you people and your Tech" Dunjen thought to Nix.

She just grinned "And yes I know what all this stuff is used for" she thought. After looking over quite a number of different items; there was one thing she was looking for but couldn't find.

As it happened the Ensign walked back over "See anything that tickles your fancy" Kira asked. "You mean besides you sweet cheeks" Dunjen thought. Nix grinned "Behave yourself" came the rebuff. "Actually I'm looking for a more up to date Terminal that attaches to the forearm...but I don't see it here" she explained.

Kira reached over and grabbed a round object about one inch across "Here this is what you want....it attaches to your wrist...here try it on for size" as she handed it to Nix. Nix placed it on her wrist and Kira reached over and touched the front of the object. Suddenly a Holo Terminal appeared in the air directly in front of Nix which put a smile on her face.

Kira stood watching Nix "Now swipe right and it will bring several different screens with different functions on each, all in a row...then tap which screen you want to use...when your done swipe left and it will go back to the home screen. Shake your wrist and it shuts off; plus all of your other Tech should work seamlessly with this unit" she instructed.

Nix looked up and smiled "Thank you for your help....this is so much more advanced than what I've been using. I'm in the habit of taking care of my own Tech....so could I take this with me" she inquired.

"I'm sorry Lieutenant JG but that is against Regs....all the Tech has to stay in this secured area unless checked out for a Mission. " she stated then thought "But we do have a bunch of empty lockups that you are more than welcome to use....you could store all your gear and just come here when you want to maintain it....including anything else in that cabinet."

Nix was of course well aware of the Regs which had been bent slightly on her last post. Now that she was on a new Ship Nix didn't want to cause any problems so she grinned "Thank you Ensign....I'll grab the gear from my Quarters and take you up on your offer" she commented.

The Ensign went to a lockbox and grabbed two keys then turned "If you'll follow me I'll show you where the lockups are" so the two walked a few feet away to another area as she showed Nix the unit "Will this be large enough for your gear?"

Nix looked it over "Yes that is more than sufficient...thank you" she said as she was handed the keys "I'll be back later with the rest of my gear...but right now there's a couple more items I want to look at."

"Tell me what your looking for and I can probably find it for you...I'm pretty familiar with most of these items" Kira stated as the two walked back over to the cabinet.

"I presently use about a two inch round object that I toss in the air that goes ahead of me to look through doorways and around corners to make sure it's clear. Do you have anything smaller...maybe something in the one inch size" Nix inquired.

The Ensign thought for a moment "Actually I do" as she grabbed the object and handed it to Nix "It's about three quarters of an inch...if that's not too small....and again that will work with your wrist unit as well"

That put another smile on Nix's face "That's perfect...the smaller the better actually...it won't be so visible in a tight situation" she stated "I think that's it for the time being.....so can I store these few items in my lockup until I can get the rest of my gear here as well" she asked.

"Absolutely.....and you can come down here whenever you need to" Kira commented with a smile.

"Thank you Ensign for all your help...you're very kind" Nix replied being very happy with her new finds....and maybe another new friend as well.
