Nix returned to the secured area with the rest of her gear to stow in her new lockup. As she approached the area the Ensign greeted her "Lieutenant back so soon" Kira asked.

"Yes I wanted to get this all squared away sooner than later" she replied. Kira stepped aside and let Nix pass with a smile.

The Lieutenant JG carefully arranged all of her gear in the lockup for easy access, including her new items that she was anxious to try out. She noticed however that she was getting low on knockout liquid so she grabbed the almost empty bottle and walked over to Kira.

"Excuse me Ensign...but do you have anymore of this item" as she showed her the bottle.

"Yes, it's over here" as Kira walked over and unlocked another cabinet and handed a full bottle to Nix "Be careful...this stuff is potent....wouldn't want to find you passed out down here" she commented with a grin.

"Thank you Ensign....I'll be careful....I know just how potent this stuff really is" came the reply "And no I don't want to be knocked out either....the headache afterwards is not pleasant."

Nix returned to her lockup and finished getting everything just as she wanted it when she heard Dunjen "So you happy with this now?" "Yes old friend...it's just the way I want it.....now i'm going to try out my new toys" Nix whispered to Dunjen. "Should have known" he commented sensing her demeanor "Ok I'll be quiet now."

Nix just grinned as she grabbed the wrist piece and turned it on. She brought up each screen one by one and studied each one becoming acutely familiar with the function of each "Wow...this is so much better and sleeker.....all this information" Nix said out loud not noticing the Ensign standing there.

"Glad you like it" Kira said which startled Nix a little as she looked up. "Sorry didn't see you standing there Ensign" Nix replied.

"Are you always this focused Lieutenant" she asked. "Yes usually...but even more so when I'm actually on a mission....my life depends on it" Nix replied as she grabbed the small round viewing ball "I may as well try this out as well" as she was looking how to turn it on.

Kira placed her hand on top of Nix's "The button to turn it on is on the back side" as Kira turned it on for her.

Nix was becoming a little self conscious feeling Kira's touch "Thanks....I didn't see it" she stated a little uneasy at the moment.

Kira smiled "That's what I'm here for...go ahead try it out....I think you'll be pleased with how it works" she commented watching her using the new device.

"This is incredible what you can see with this" Nix stated as she operated it further and further away "And the map keeps expanding the further out you go....this is going to work great on mission."

"I told you you'd be pleased" Kira said "I must say....I'm impressed...it takes most people some time to work this stuff...but you...you're a natural."

Nix looked at Kira "Thank you.....I've had about eight years of practice....most things work a certain way, you just need to figure out which way" she replied with a grin as she put things away "I guess I've played long enough for now....thanks for all your help."

"Anytime I can help please don't be afraid to ask" Kira stated being rather enamored with the Lieutenant JG at the moment.

Nix smiled and left the area to go back to her Quarters. As she walked away she heard Dunjen chuckling to himself "Would you like to share what's so amusing" Nix whispered. "You rather like the young Ensign don't you" came the reply. "Don't be absurd" Nix replied. "Come on...admit it....your heart rate increased when she touched your hand....you know you can't fool me" he pointed out.

"One of the downsides of being joined with a Symbiont" she thought to herself. "I heard that!" came the retort.

"Now your just being silly" Nix stated as she made her way home. Meanwhile Dunjen was still chuckling to himself. He knew the truth even if she wouldn't admit it to herself.
