After leaving the commodore’s office Tara headed back to sick bay, Kristian was now a lieutenant commander and Tara was curious. Walking into sick bay she spotted her cousin at the desk updating and signing a couple of charts.

Kristian hearing the door to sick bay open turned to see who had come in, seeing Tara she handed the chart over to the nurse “File that please.”

“Right away doctor,” the nurse said

“I figured I’d be seeing you when you found out, let’s get Alesha and have her meet us in ten forward. I have a lot to tell the two of you,” Kristian said taking off her lab coat and hung it on a nearby hook. Tapping her com-badge “Alesha it’s Kristian can you meet Tara and I in ten forward. I have something to tell both of you.”

“Give me ten minutes,” Alesha responded

Ten minutes later Alesha joined Tara and Kristian in ten forward. Kristian had selected a seat off to one side where they could talk in private.

Alesha spotted the rank increase "So is this the news you want to tell us?" she asked reverting to their native language.

"When did this happen Kristian?" Tara asked also reverting to the Amazon language

"It's true, I was promoted to Lieutenant Commander by Commander Kahn while we were in orbit of Klavor. I've also been promoted to the position of Chief Medical Officer. I wanted to tell both of you but I wanted my folks to find out first. Not that the two of you didn't have a right to know," Kristian said

"Your parents had a right to know first and congratulations Kristian," Alesha responded

"You've earned it, you work hard and I'm oh so proud of you," Tara replied "But why the first officer and not the commodore?"

"Because the first officer was in command as I'd not yet cleared the commodore for active duty and once I did clear her she still needed a Physic Eveal too just to make sure she was okay," Kristian said "The sad thing is she did her best to keep the fact she's a royal away from her command and now it's out."

"I can well relate and the very first person who refers to me as Princess will not like what I have to say," Tara commented

"To be honest Tara I don't know how many know outside of the two of us, the commodore and the first officer," Kristian responded

"And we're not talking so your secret is safe don't worry about it," Alesha said

"And I want to keep it that way," Tara answered

The three changed the conversation to family and work talk for the next couple of hours when Kristian's com went off.

"Well duty calls, let's do this again soon," Kristian said getting up and heading out

"I've got pilots to work on so I should get back to work," Alesha said getting up

"I'm going to the lab and go over some of the data from the mission I went on with Nix. It was good to catch up," Tara commented as they headed out and each went her own way
