Cyndi was going over reports which included the sudden departure of T’Mia, Christian Hurd which explain the major’s needing some downtime and Ellie Kees as well. No reason for their sudden departures had been given. All that Cyndi knew is three people were gone for no reason at all. That puzzled and somewhat angered her to think they’d just up and leave without letting her know. That was desertation plain and simple.

Before she had the chance to send word to Starfleet Command her computer message went off. Opening the message, it was from McTavish. Opening she read his report on what this weapon was able to do. Letting out a low whistle as she read the report. This weapon was far worse that the old genesis torpedo that had been used years before and had not been used since it’s failed attempt. This weapon had to be stopped. The early reports had indicated that it could be delivered and detonated later by remote access. While some ships did have slip stream drive it was still highly experimental and not always stable.

Opening a message:

Lieutenant McTavish:

This weapon cannot be permitted to become operational. It must be stopped at all costs. This could be a matter for diplomacy. Good work to you and your department. Slip Stream drive was not always able to hold up and the field collapses without warning. It’s possible Benamite Crystals might just be what is needed to hold that drive. I’ve never studied them. Find a way to get a sample of them and carefully bring them aboard in a containment field where they can be studied and find a good way to use them. And not to power that weapon.

Cyndi re-read her message and hit send. Benamite Crystals were not found everywhere that was for sure. With a Tholoian Ship bearing down on them even though it had yet to detect them and was only a matter of time before it did. Things could go sour fast.
