Mission: The Restroffs (Space Spiders)
Location: Sagitarrius system
Timeline: Concurrent to Post 20-21

Luminescence of enshrouded web surrounded the Brol
Creatures as three very large arachnids positioned themselves about them. Then they began moving as they lassoed them and pulled them into their webbed funnel.

Will entered the bridge and immediately joined the Captain.

" So what did I miss?" he asked Captain Song.

"Not much," Cyndi said. "I watched as the Brol ship exploded I've never felt so helpless as there was nothing I could do. But I did get some good sensor readings. What did the away team learn from them?"

" Amethyst was devastated too. They gave her seeds of themselves. Probably their children. Have you been down to investigate the captured arachnid? I bet Tara is all over it." Will replied.

"I've not had the chance. I do know Tara has been busy checking the seeds to see if they are lifeforms or what they are," Cyndi commented.

" I would bet they are saplings." Will replied.

Cyndi turned to face her first officer "Just what did you find and see on that other ship over there? Saplings indicate trees and there is not enough room on this ship anywhere to grow trees."

" These tree like creatures appear between 6 and 9 feet. At least the three we met." Will replied.

"Then we need to find a planet where we can re-home them if their world is not safe. There is no way this ship can handle beings that tall," Cyndi said


" We could always start an arboretum?," Will joked

"That will depend on how fast they grow and from what I've heard they are able to move. How would the crew react should they see a walking and talking tree? Be it an adult tree or a sapling?" Cyndi asked.

" Amethyst can communicate telepathically. They asked her to protect them. Maybe she senses them?" Will replied.

"Perhaps, but that is also very draining on her. There has to be some other way to communicate with them," Cyndi said.

" When I was a boy my Grand Dad used to talk to his plants, he ran,a green house. Maybe the universal translator could be modified some how?" Will posed in response.

"It might," Cyndi said "Get with communications and see what they can do. Make it fast,"

That wouldn't take long ss the comm officer was directly behind him. Will also considered if whether medical officer H'iri might help Amethyst telepathically.

" Yes ma'am."

"Keep me posted if you manage to do it. I don't want to drain the councilor too much with her ability," Cyndi said.

" Yes Captain. I will go down and talk to both ladies right now." Will replied.

"Try to find out where their home planet is and if we can assist them. I also want to find out about these spiders too, they appear intelligent too," Cyndi replied

" Aye aye," Will replied as the lift doors opened.


Seconds later the helm officer gave a horrible report.

" Captain the spiders are constructing a large web between the 2nd and third planetoids. They are extending it towards us."

"That's where the web has been all along," Cyndi commented .

" Yes ma'am but several more blips are heading our way."

"Tactical send out a repulsive beam to push those spiders back where they came from." Cyndi ordered


" Repulser beam, aye. It's working."
