Posted on Tue May 10th, 2022 @ 10:49pm by Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Commodore Cyndi Song & Lieutenant Tara Herculoid PhD

Mission: Weapon Investigating
Location: Bridge
Timeline: current

OOC: I don't know who is who completely, so all are included in the JP whether on the Bridge or not, just so you see how it progresses. Cheers :)

ON:

Green appeared on the transporter pad with Cosmo at her side on another. They stepped down and entered the corridor. Ro's steps were quick and energetic as she made her way through the halls, elated over how peace had reigned over conflict. She got in the lift and ordered it to the Bridge. Coming onto the command deck from the starboard lift Green saw all the familiar faces for Alpha shift, with department heads mingling within. Song was in her chair going over a department reports on the duty PADD.

She couldn't help it. As Green stepped out into the center of the Bridge proper she presented a wide smile. "Computer, shipwide broadcast, audio-visual." Now, every deck could stop at a comm board and watch and listen to her as she spoke. "Commodore, everyone, the mission is a success. Chalk up another efficiency ribbon for the crew."

Cyndi turned to look at Ro, "Let's hear it commander. I'm curious as to what you've managed to do to avert a war."

"Simple, Commodore." Beamed Green. "I got them talking to each other. Both were in the wrong, both were in the right. So, we had to come up with a compromise, which they pretty much did themselves. Kinlo and Chief Trenso knew each other and once I got the bickering shut down they began to see reason. Neither side wants an extended conflict, let alone war."

Silk was sitting on a stool next to a biobed, using it as a table for his laid out dermal regenerators. Twenty of them to be exact. He was on his fifth device, recalibrating it, when Green popped up on the comm board. Sean could see and hear her perfectly from this angle. After her declaration Silk grinned, going back to what he was doing. "Damn, she did it." He said to himself.

Kahn was standing next to her officer at Tactical. When Green announced herself so brazenly and made her announcement Liza caught her eye and gave her a grin and nod. "Well done, Commander Green. Are there any special requests for the Federation in this matter?"

"No, Sir." Green was back to her professional self. "On a personal level, yes, but not from our government."

Kahn waited to see if anyone else had a query before she continued

"What kind of personal level?" Cyndi asked "I hope your not being asked to stay."

Kristian has been monitoring "Do they need or want anything that we can give them?"

Ro stepped closer to Song in a show of trust. "I told them that I would be their envoy to the Federation, Commodore. I offered, they didn't ask me to."

"What will you do if they take you up on that offer? I don't want to lose you but I won't stand in your way if this is your calling," Cyndi said "I owe you my life something I cannot repay."

"You will never have to, Cyndi." Said Green. "I'm not going anywhere, I am just that one person that either of them can call if there is an issue they feel needs a neutral party." She then remembered another voice coming over the speakers. "No, Doctor Long, they didn't express needs for anything, but that wasn't why we were there. That can come later."

"So, you're an absentee envoy, only called when needed." Liza reasoned. "I have no issue with it as long as it doesn't interfere with your normal duties, Commander."

Green held up a finger. "Computer, end shipwide broadcast and leave Doctor Long on an open channel." The computer acknowledged and it was done. "There, not everyone needs to see the debriefing." She took a healthy breath and began again. "I did it because they deserve it. Both are reasonable leaders only looking out for the best interests of their people. As a Starfleet officer it is MY DUTY to aid any and all who ask for it. Doing so also brought trust from the Tholians. Magistrate Kinlo is going to shut down the weapon testing and all data and materials regarding the project will be obliterated from all records. Not only did my decision bring peace, it also ended a horrible threat to all life." She looked back and forth at Song and Kahn.

"Diplomacy is tricky matter. I've done it a few times and any thing that can be done to avoid a war is always a good outcome," Cyndi commented

"Just like in medical matters," Kristian spoke up "In a sense commander we're all diplomats."

"As Starfleet personnel we are all diplomats first. Everything we do and say can effect not only Starfleet, but the entire Federation." This was an area Green was quite familiar with, and had been pushing at fellow officers to take more consideration of. Diplomacy, peace, mutual cooperation. Being ready to jump with a phaser in hand should never be the first option. "I..."

Ro was interrupted by the Tactical officer. "Incoming transmission from Starfleet Command. Rear Admiral Aaron Stone."

Liza said 'on screen' at exactly the same time as Cyndi. They glanced at each other and Kahn gave her a wink.

The image of Admiral Stone filled the forward viewport as it was overlaid by the channel. He gave a friendly smile. "Well, lookey there. I call the Amandora and all the people I want to speak to are already assembled." His eyes went to Cyndi. "Commodore Song, you're looking well. I hope all the injuries have finally healed."

"For the most part admiral," Cyndi replied "What do I owe the honor of this call?"

Stone briefly raised a PADD up to view, its back to the screen as he wagged it before taking it back down. "Oh, I was hoping for an explanation for this. An hour ago this message was sent to the Federation Council by...let me see...oh yes, 2nd Magistrate Kinlo of the Tholian Hegemony. He showed us sensor logs of his people destroying all materials in regards to the antimatter explosive. On top of that he, and...let me see...oh yes, Chief Trenso of the Nyberrite Alliance name one Lieutenant Commander Green as their envoy to the Federation." He folded his hands on top of his desk. "They were both adamant that she be recognized for her efforts in bringing peace. Magistrate also sang you praises, Commodore. If not for Amandora none of this would have been accomplished. His words. So, do we have an envoy in our midst?" His eyes shifted to Green, but they seemed to soften ever-so-slightly as he did so. It was subtle.

"We do, Admiral." Admitted Green. "I offered to represent them to the Federation Council, should they ever need UFP help. I know the UFP already has an Ambassador to Tholia, I'm just another diplomat they can rely on."

The Admiral looked back to the Commodore. "It doesn't hurt to keep good relations with the Tholians. Are you okay with this, Cyndi?"

Cyndi glanced to Ro briefly "I am admiral, what are your orders where Commander Green is concerned? Good relations are why we're out here in the first place."

Stone gave a smile. "No orders from me, Cyndi. I just wanted to call and make sure this was all legit. You and your crew have done a superb job on this. If I were to give an order it would be to relax and celebrate this win with your crew. Not a bad thing when the Council sees how quickly you guys resolved the situation. "But, meetings call so I have to run. Be safe out there, Stone out." The transmission cut.

Green turned to face Song. "My duties to Starfleet, and to you personally, come first, Cyndi. Envoy is just in case they need me as much as the Federation does. I don't know why, and I certainly can't explain it. It's who I am these days."

Liza had moved closer to Cyndi as the Admiral had been on screen. She now stood next to her CO as Green spoke. Kahn could tell there was more that Green wanted to say, more that she wanted to admit, but for whatever reason she chose to keep it inside. It was a hesitation often caused by people who were hesitant to speak because they didn't think others would understand their motives and feelings. She remained silent as Green finished.

"Ro,something is on your mind. Tell me, I know you too well. Your holding something back. I can't do anything if you don't tell me," Cyndi said.

Kahn gave a nod of agreement. "She's right, Ro. I can sense it too. What's on your mind?"

"Me. Not to put too fine a point on it." Ro gave a weak grin at her attempt at sarcasm. "I feel...I feel like I am finally fulfilling my destiny. My genetic changes have brought me abilities I never dreamed of, and then Q threw in her influence, opening my mind to the multi-verse. I am driven to bring as much peace to this galaxy as I possibly can before I pass on. To end suffering wherever I can. It's what drives me forward."

"What are you saying Ro?" Cyndi asked "While we all want peace there are times when a show of force it what is needed."

Green nodded agreement. "There are times when violence is the only solution, I know that. What I'm saying is that through my actions, choices and decisions I will do all in my power to find a peaceful solution to any situation. I keep seeing a set of words, like a code for life." She spoke them aloud.

"Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet harmony.
Death, yet the Core."

"I have no idea where the image comes from," said Ro. "But, with that code in mind then I will make sure to remind Starfleet personnel of who they are, and who they are supposed to be."

"What is the Core?" Asked Liza.

Ro held her arm out, hand open as she aimed it towards a PADD sitting on a faraway console. It flew through the air and landed squarely in her grasp. She handed it to Kahn. "That was the Core. And that's just barely scratching the surface."

"I trust you'll keep that in check," Cyndi commented "It is impressive and you've really progressed with it since you last served with me. Liza when she first served with me she was just learning how to control it and she's made huge strides in it over the years."

"Thank you, Cyndi." smiled Green. "I have progressed in my mastery, yes. The Core is the core energy of this universe. I'm sure that elsewhere it is called something else." She wasn't going to tell them about her little dimensional trips to another galaxy. "And this, Liza, completes the package." Green pulled her saber free, holding it safely to not harm anyone and then ignited it. The snap-hiss as the plasma blade sprang forth made Liza jump a little, along with several other crew members on the Bridge. Many crew had often wondered what that thing was that Green carried on her lower back. They never expected this. "A gift from a Q known as Qeritas, Liza. I have since then recrafted it to my standards." The blade continued to thrum as she held it upright a few moments longer before closing down the cloud blue blade and putting the hilt back on her person.

"I've had seven lives and still not been through as much shit as you have, Ro." Kahn said. "Impressive weapon. Is that plasma?"

"Yes," answered Green. "But, we can discuss the technology later, Commander." Her attention went to Cyndi. "Commodore, I would like to submit my application for Chief Diplomatic Officer. I'll let my slot in engineering go."

Liza gazed at Green. "You're S.ops Chief, Ro. Can you handle two departments?"

"If you feel you can handle both departments Ro then the answer is yes. I am in need of a good diplomatic officer. I've called on my husband a few times to handle. The only issue using him is he's retired," Cyndi said.

Green gave them both a grin. "I'm sure I'll be fine. S.ops and the diplomatic corps are not exceedingly busy most days. Plus, I'll have department personnel for each to aid me when they can. Thank you for this, both of you, for accepting my request. Now, I really need to go relax and file my reports. If I may?"

Liza gave her nod of acknowledgement, returning to her own chair and taking up a PADD to report on the debriefing.

"Permission granted," Cyndi said "I'll make this official soon."

Having been given permission to leave the Bridge, Green nodded to them both and then departed, Cosmo on her heels as always. Entering the lift Ro ordered it to her home deck, stepping out once they arrived and making her way to her quarters.
