Mission:
Rescue On Romulus
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: current
ON:
Silk had watched everyone come in when the rush was on. He had assisted in setting Liza up in a sterile field, seeing she was not going to make it. At that time Sean had said nothing, letting Long make that call. He was a fine doctor, sure, but Long was as dedicated as he was, but also more experienced. There were things she may have heard of, or knew how to do that may save a patient in such dire circumstances. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Silk had prepped the stasis tank for the Symbiont Kahn, knowing damn well that Liza would want it saved before herself. That was part of the contract between host and Symbiont. The knowledge of centuries of Trill history lay within these long-lived beings, and it was the duty of the host to see to its safety first, even before their own.
It still hadn't made it any easier to take Kahn from Liza's body. That disconnection spelled certain doom for the host. To be joined meant to be JOINED. So, after getting Kahn settled and safe Sean went back out to Sickbay, bypassing the Commodore and that group standing over Liza, and heading right over to Nira who was sitting sideways on a biobed with her calves dangling. He grabbed a pouch of instruments and meds and walked over, his irritation growing as he did so, finally coming to stand before her. He brought out his medical scanner and tricorder. "Lift your chin, please."
NIra was not lost on his irritated tone, and the fact that he went all professional instead of casual and friendly or...caring. "Why so pissy?"
"Excuse me," asked Sean cynically. He set the instruments aside and looked into her beautiful eyes. "Listen. I don't have much left in this world so, what I do have I cherish. This ship could get blown to kingdom come, but this crew. Well, I have a family again. That means that I may go off all psycho at some point when any one of them is threatened. If I enter into combat I don't stop until there is no one left to kill when I reach the point of vengeance and justice." His voice had started out hard and matter-of-fact but as he went on it became softer and focused. He was trying to say something from the heart and it seemed he was having a hard time just saying it.
Nira straightened her spine and sat up straight laying her right hand on his left breast. "You are angry because I get hurt. You not have to say, I feel." Her fingers lifted and patted twice. "Nira Whisperwind has fallen for Sean Silk. There will be no other. I am yours when you wish to claim me so."
That hit Sean's mind like a ton of bricks. All his focus, anxiety and anger was instantly obliterated by this woman's declaration of love. They had spent an inordinate amount of time together in the phaser range holodeck, built for combat training in all types of environment. Well, every time they finished fighting then Nira would bring up the holo-program of her homeworld (modeled after Pandora in Avatar, folks), where they would always find some beautiful place to make love. Waterfalls, secluded glens, wherever was comfortable and just the two of them.
"I..wha...say that again." Said Sean when finally able to form words again.
"I say I love you and I am your mate if you will have me." She shoved him back slightly, enough to get to her feet and stand together with bodies pressed. "What say you, warrior? Has my time been wasted?" She did not use her broken tongue. She liked doing that because it reminded her of home.
Instead of giving an answer first Sean wrapped her up in his arms and kissed her deeply. Her lashes and ears were wiggling about at the tips, then began to settle and even droop a little. Yep, he had struck the well of her soul. When they broke and collected themselves, glancing over at the other table to make sure no one had seen. But, the energy by Liza's bed had changed so he tapped his ear and chinned to the group. Nira caught the signal and began to focus on listening. She relayed everything to Silk in a quiet tone. They were both giving each other looks that they too would be involved in a rescue operation, just not in a way anyone would expect.
