{Deck 2 – Quarters}

Now that the Amandora was back in Federation Space Jamie had sent word to Heather to join him on the Ship in a few days at Outpost 27.

Jamie had just finished his shift and returned to his Quarters to shower and get out of his uniform; then he would pour himself a drink and relax. Since the unfortunate demise of Kelliza, Jamie realized anything could happen in the blink of an eye.

As he was just sort of daydreaming Jamie heard the chime on his door go off as he stood and made his way to the door thinking “Who could this be.” When he opened the door he couldn't believe his eyes.

“Surprise Commander” came this very familiar and lovely voice “You going to ask your wife in or what” she asked with a grin.

Jamie suddenly smiled like the Cheshire Cat as he took her hand “Come here you” and he pulled her in the door....as she dropped her duffel on the floor....took her in his arms then proceeded to give her a long and tender kiss “Boy have I missed you and why didn't you tell me you'd be here today and I would have met you in the Transporter Room” he commented talking fast like a nervous school boy.

Heather smiled as she wrapped her arms around her husband's neck and looked into his eyes “Because I wanted to surprise you silly” she replied then gave Jamie a long tender kiss of her own “And just for the record...I missed you too.”

Jamie instinctively went and poured Heather a Chateau Picard Rose` as they both sat on the couch “So how was Betazed and your folks” he asked being so very happy to have his wife back with him.

Heather went into detail about her time there and how pleased her parents were that Heather had fallen in love and married to who they felt must be a wonderful man. “My parents would like to meet the man who stole their daughters heart and I told them we would when the opportunity presented itself “ she commented.

“Yes by all means, I would love to meet your family since you've already met mine” Jamie replied looking forward to that day.

“So how's life on the Amandora” Heather asked wondering what her husband had been up to in her absence.

Jamie proceeded to explain everything with the Romulans and how the XO had been killed and her symbiont being transferred to another Trill. He also mentioned how useful his training had been using the metal whips and how he was put at the Con to get the Ship back to safety while the Commodore was in Sick Bay.

Heather placed her hand on top of Jamie's hand very tenderly “Boy, sounds like you've really had your hands full” she commented “Have you had a chance to enjoy yourself at all.”

“Yes I've had a chance to meet the Science Chief as well as a few other of the Crew” Jamie replied “Also I did have the chance to meet the Commodore and her husband. They would like you and I to have dinner with them some night....very nice people.”

“Ya, I'd like that, but let me get settled first for a few days” Heather commented.

“Of course....things should settle down here in a few days....at least I hope so” Jamie said as he reached for a PADD and turned it on. Handing it to Heather “You have to read this.....it's from Mystery.”

Heather read over the document then looked at Jamie not believing what she was reading “She's really giving you half ownership of her house on Earth's Moon” she asked with a surprised look “That's so nice of her to do that for us.”

Jamie smiled “Ya I couldn't believe it myself when I first read it” he stated “But yes we now have a place sort of our own to relax when we get in the area.”

Heather thought for a moment “You know that would make a nice retirement home for us someday” she commented with a smile on her face at the prospect.

“Yes it would but I'd want to build a Bio-dome around and over the house so we had some outdoor space otherwise we might get cabin fever” Jamie replied with a chuckle “ Or at the very least add on a Holo Deck for some outdoor time.”

Heather grinned “The Holo Deck would probably be a lot cheaper...but we can decide on that later on” she commented then yawned.

Jamie looked into Heather's beautiful blue eyes and smiled “I missed you so much....I'm so glad your here with me now....but you must be exhausted after you the trip.”

Heather put her arms around Jamie's neck “Yes it's been a very long day and I'm tired.” Then she gave him a very passionate kiss “But first we have some catching up to do husband” she stated as Heather got up from the couch, taking Jamie by the hand the couple made their way into the bedroom.
