Mission:
Rescue On Romulus
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: current
OOC: I am including everyone in case they want to be there and watch through the glass, or are in the room with Kahn. And, to let others see what is coming :)
OOC: I removed Hurd, Jackson/Alistar, Ray's Characters and all of his NPC's since those three are on LOA
ON:
Zenni and her capsule were beamed to Amandora from Hubble, along with the troupe of Trill physicians. Silk, Long and the medical staff aided them in getting everything set where they needed it. The Trill physicians were both polite and patient, letting Long and her staff know that this procedure will be recorded for their benefit. If the new host agrees to share it, that is. However, anyone observing in the room would have to remain silent while the doctors did what they needed to. All would be explained along the way as to the how and why. Afterword a drink in the lounge and any questions could be answered.
Silk was stoked. He had been in on one transfer in his past, but it was years ago and he wasn't one of the main doctors doing the procedure. His role had been secondary. Now, the opportunity to get this down was presenting itself. ~Thanks, Liza. Still teaching me a thing or two~
Kristian had done one trasnfer and it had been a few years. "I'm Doctor Long and this is Doctor Silk we'll be assisting in the transfer. We have the Kahn Symiont ready. The operating room is prepped and ready. Just tell us what you need us to do."
"Excellent, the CMO herself. I am Doctor Oded Danz. Your role, Doctor will be lifting the symbiont from the tank and then inserting its 'front' into the slot designated for it. It can be disconcerting. Also, the Symbionts weigh more than they appear, please keep that in mind. If you drop Kahn it could kill it."
Doctor Silk you'll be on my side and aiding in creating the pouch. We have to rearrange her organs to fit Kahn and also to not jam them up or disrupt them. My associate will be aiding Doctor Long from her side, keeping flesh out of the way and blood recycled." Danz gave a grin. "Neither of you look nervous, a good sign. Aside from those chosen tasks you may aid in the procedure however you can fit your hands in."
Silk gave a confident nod. "You can count on me, Sir."
"I'm stronger than I look," Kristian assured them. "It's been a few years since I've done this but you can count on me as well."
Sean began walking with the Trill doctors, Long right alongside. They went into the sonic sterilizing showers and scrubbed, then donned their surgical gear. "Khan is a friend no matter what face it has, Doctor Danz. Time to finish this."
"I couldn't agree more." Danz led them into the surgical suite where Zenni was unconscious in her surgical capsule. Gloved up and masked by nurses they all took their positions around the capsule and began the transformation from singular to carrier.
Ninety minutes later Zenni's body was surgically altered to hold her Symbiont. Kris was instructed to bring Kahn out of the tank, which she did properly. She scooped him up, hand splayed wide open to support all the weight equally, then lifted. Turning around to the table she then inserted Kahn into the pouch made for him. Another 45 minutes went by as they closed everything up and sealed the abdominal wound, leaving a pouch opening for quick access to the Symbiont. It folded and sealed and was not easy to open without the host's consent. Hence, no belly button.
The procedure was done so all the doctors gave a sigh of relief that all had gone well. Zenni would be sore for a few days but all was healed as best they could. Tenderness was an after affect of the organ displacement which would heal in a matter of days thanks to Kahn.
"Well done, you two," said Danz. "If you lived on Trill I would be glad to have you on my surgical team. If Zenni okays it then the recording of the entire procedure is yours to use for educational purposes for medical staff and crew."
"Much obliged, Oded. Kahn is alive and that's all that matters." Sean responded.
"I hope she does okay it," Kristian said. "It's been few years since I've done of these. It's much easier with a team. I thank you."
Nix Dunjen had heard about Kelliza's untimely demise and wanted to be there to watch the procedure being done for the new Host; it wasn't that long ago that she had gone through the same thing. Standing outside the O.R., looking through the window, Nix had a good view of the operation. When it was all over she could sense Dunjen " Kahn should be fine now and the two will start to become one" he stated. "Yes they will old friend and I'll make myself available if Zenni needs someone to talk to during the transitional period" Nix commented.
Green had left Sickbay and been gone about twenty minutes when she got an urge to go back. So, making an about face mid-step, she turned and went back. As she walked in she immediately spotted Dunjen. Going over Green said her name with a bit of umph, but not loud. "Nix!" When the young woman spun to face where her name had come from Ro wrapped her in a warm embrace. "So glad we got you home."
Nix smiled "Ro I can't thank you enough for not only coming back for me but for also saving all those poor souls; I doubt many of them wouldn't have lasted much longer in that horrible place."
Ro took the woman's hands in hers. "I had to ease their suffering. It's a pledge I have made to all beings in the galaxy. I even left the Romulans a way to save face, and returned their property. Trust begins by having trust."
The scientist in Tara had her in the observation lounge watching the procedure. Hearing a sound Tara looked over and saw Alesha walk in. Nodding to her.
Cyndi had seen a couple transfer's and had chosen to watch anyway as new things could have come out."
"Okay, folks," said Doctor Danz as he faced all at an angle that all could see him. "Zenni Kahn is all in the green." Ro grinned to herself at that as she had let go of Nix to listen. "For now she will sleep until her meds wear off. This will give Kahn time to heal what he needs to to make her whole. Your support in this matter does not go unnoticed by the people of Trill. We thank you for being expedient when it comes to one of our citizens. So, I need to go relax. Once she wakes up she will be greatly confused and she may have snap emotions due to the memory overload. Mostly, she will lash out verbally in anger. Take it for what it is, please. Good evening to you all and thank you once again." The Trill doctors all went into their own huddle, having to deliver to Zenni all documentation from the symbiosis commission in regards on how she is to conduct herself now that she is joined. There were rules that must be adhered to.
People began to file out of Sickbay, some pairing up to walk, others going solo. Green chose solo, ducking into a side corridor as quickly as possible.
Sickbay now had the duty of observing Zenni Kahn until she awoke so they could be there for her initial shock. Silk wasn't going anywhere and he was sure Long wouldn't either.
