{Deck 2 - Quarters}

After a good nights sleep Heather showered and dressed thinking that she would poke around the Ship and try to get her bearings. Jamie was still asleep, as it was early, so she decided to let him sleep considering all he had been through lately. Heather left him a note then grabbed her PADD and left their Quarters.

{Deck 11}

Heather wanted to check out a couple of the Holo Decks for size since she would need to book her time for her weekly workouts. When she came to the first one she entered noticing this thing was huge and she didn't need quite that big a space for her workouts.The second one was more the right size for her, so she would book her time in this one.

On her way back to the lift one of the Holo Deck doors slid open and Heather noticed a tall Trill women exiting with workout attire on and a towel around her neck....obviously she had been working out. As she approached her Heather smiled "Good morning, how was your workout."

The women stopped and smiled "Oh good morning...I had a great workout, thank you" she replied.

"This may sound a little strange my asking, but I noticed you were Trill....you wouldn't happen to be Lieutenant Dunjen would you" Heather asked.

"Yes, I'm Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen and you are" she replied.

"I'm Lieutenant JG Heather Devroe....well O'Connell actually....I'm the new Infiltration Specialist. I just recently came aboard" Heather explained with a smile.

Hearing that put a broad smile on Nix's face "It's very nice to meet you" she stated "I've been hoping for another set of hands when on Mission. We'll have to sit down and talk soon....unless you're free now for a little while."

Heather was elated getting a chance to start her new career "I just arrived yesterday so I'm off today and was checking out the Ship when I ran into you....so yes now would be fine.

"Great....let's get started then" Nix replied when she sensed Dunjen "This one has possibilities and not bad to look at either."
Nix grinned "Behave yourself, I have work to do" she replied.

Heather went with Nix not quite sure where they were going when they entered the Lift "Computer Deck 1" Nix ordered then looking at Heather "I thought we would go to the Observation Lounge, we
can sit and talk without interruptions."

{Deck 1 - Observation Lounge}

The ladies walked into the Lounge as Nix made a hand gesture towards a chair "Please have a seat Lieutenant JG Devroe" she said as she took the seat across from her.

Heather took the offered seat "Please call me Heather since we're both have the same rank and I'm not even on duty" she replied with a smile.

"Thank you Heather and please call me Nix" she replied "Please tell me a little bit about your background."

Heather thought for a moment organizing her thoughts "I studied Science at the Academy as my major and minored in Covert Operations. Since I was young I studied various Martial Arts growing up and have a Masters rating in most of them" she concluded.

"Well that's quite an impressive accomplishment....earning a Masters rating in Martial Arts" Nix commented "So what did you do on your previous Ship."

"I started out as a Science Officer but due to certain circumstances, I made my talents known and eventually started doing covert Ops when needed" Heather explained.

Nix thought for a minute "Could you elaborate on the circumstances, if you wouldn't mind."

"Sure. Commander O'Connell was kidnapped and taken hostage aboard a prison ship and was being chemically tortured. I asked Captain Ellis to let me go rescue him and she agreed. I secretly was beamed aboard and was able to covertly rescue the Commander.....which was a good thing since he almost died after returning to the Ship" Heather stated "After that my talents were entered into my personal file and I did several more Ops after that."

"I'm glad to hear you've had some experience in the field and being here you'll be getting a lot more" Nix replied being quite happy at what she was hearing. "She's definitely a keeper" she could hear Dunjen say. Then Nix chose her next words carefully so as not offend Heather "Please don't take this the wrong way but I would like to see first hand your abilities if we're going to be working in the field together."

Heather figured this was coming as she smiled "No problem....I would want the same thing if the roles were reversed. Also I'm very experienced in Martial Arts weaponry which I'd be more than happy to show you."

Nix internally gave a sigh of relief hearing her replies "Good we'll get together soon in the Holo Deck and you can show me what you've got. Is there any area that you feel you may need additional training in."

Heather thought for a few moments "Probably just how to use some of the more sophisticated Tech stuff....and I'm a fast learner so it shouldn't take too long" she replied being quite happy with their conversation.

"That shouldn't be a problem" Nix stated "So how about you meet me in the Holo Deck I was using tomorrow morning at say four hundred hours and we'll get started then."

"Yes, that would be fine and I'm looking forward to it" Heather replied.

"Wonderful....but now I have to be going and get ready for my shift" Nix commented "So I'll see you tomorrow morning then bright and early" as she stood with a smile and left the lounge.

Heather was quite pleased with the way things went as she started to go back to their Quarters and tell Jamie what was going on.
