#49 Position secure

Green approached the door for Commander O'Connell, pressing the chime as she came to a stop. She hoped Mister O'Connell was home.

Jamie was helping Heather put her things away in the other room in their Quarters when he heard the door chime "Excuse me sweetheart, someone's at the door" Jamie said as he left for the living area.

Moments later he answered the door and was quite surprised at their visitor "Lieutenant Commander Green this is a pleasant surprise, please come in" he commented stepping aside. Hearing Jamie, Heather walked out into the living area to see who was at their door.

"Good afternoon to you both. My apologies for interrupting you free time." Green was polite but also professional for what was coming next. "As of an hour ago the Commodore promoted me to XO, and Commander. Since you are the 2XO, I thought you should know first. Along with that information, Jamie, I am here to offer you Security Chief, effective immediately, with your rank kept at commander. We have others aboard worthy but you are the most qualified." She gave a pleasant nod when finished, letting them absorb and decide.

Jamie was in a little bit of shock not expecting a promotion of sorts so soon "First off congratulations on becoming the new XO and receiving the rank of Commander, I'm sure the Commodore made a wise choice" Jamie replied "Oh....where are my manners" then turning to Heather "Commander this is my lovely wife Heather, she'll be working as an Infiltration Specialist." Then facing the XO "And thank you, I'd be more than happy to accept the position of Security Chief."

Green gave a grin and shook Heather's hand. "A pleasure. I have you already listed, Jamie, I just haven't confirmed it yet. So," she tapped a key on her PADD and smiled. Computer, Commander Jamie O'Connell is promoted to Security Chief, effective immediately. All right and privileges, thereof. Record in the ship's log, Green, out." She gave another grin as she slipped her PADD into her thigh pocket. "Well, Heather I am also the strategic operations chief, so we will be sharing lots of data between departments. And, Jamie, Nira had all of Liza's passcodes and switched them to herself until you were ready to implement your own. Apologies for blathering on but I too am getting accustomed."

"Actually I met Lieutenant JG Dunjen this morning on a fluke really and we had a nice conversation; I looking forward to my new position on the Amandora" Heather stated with a smile "And it was a pleasure to meet you as well Commander."

"Yes I will get together with Nira tomorrow and take care of the Security/Tactical codes first thing; and thank you Commander for the opportunity to oversee the Security department" Jamie commented with a smile.

"Cyndi despises being looked after and guarded," sighed out Green with mirth. "Stubborn as me. But, I figure a man like you could set it up that she is protected but it doesn't look like you're protecting her. But, yes, I shall let you lot go back to enjoying free time. Have a good evening." Green turned on a heel and marched out of their quarters, realizing just how lonely she had been these past few months. She needed to meditate and rid herself of the need for attachment.

After Green left Jamie turned to Heather "Sounds to me like she just dropped me a challenge" he commented with a chuckle.

"It would appear so" Heather replied with a grin "Looks like we both have our work cut out for us now.
