Mission:
A Patrol and Supply mission
Location: Ready Room
Timeline: Current
ON:
Green had walked across the Bridge to the doors for the Ready Room. She chimed and when told to enter she did so, coming to stand between Song's guest chairs. "Commodore, we have an easy assignment, for once. If we accept it. A colony out on the edge of the unknown regions has requested Federation assistance since they are a protectorate. They got hit hard during the last drought and need to make it until next harvest. Twenty-seven has all we need, and can resupply anytime. The planet Tython is largely unexplored, the colonists demanding they do it themselves since it was their home, The UFP agreed. But, with us delivering supplies, maybe they'll let us explore a little for our own files, and theirs."
"By all means we'll help, after everything we've been through an easy assignment is just what we need and if they agree to let us explore it's even better," Cyndi agreed "I can understand them wanting to do it themselves but asking for help is nothing to be ashamed of."
"Their Mayor, one Mister Lucas Jones (Idris Elba), is awaiting our response. I'll let him know we're on our way while you let the crew know what we're doing." Ro gave a grin. "Exploring a forest would be so relaxing. I hope they say yes."
"As do I, and I'm sure the science department would love to get a look at it too," Cyndi replied.
"True," said green as she smiled. "I know Zenni would love to find some ancient ruins to explore and catalog."
"Count me in of that too if my schedule permits it," Cyndi said with a smile "Knowing Herculoid she'd like to tear into the fauna. She requested some time back about having some plants in the science department."
Ro gave a nod with exuberance. "If nothing else it affords more shore leave when we get there. Something this crew needs. An open world so Earth-like it is absolutely comfortable. I'll be the one to find the hidden waterfall in a warm stream for a bit of skinny dipping." The thought was appealing now that she said it.
Cyndi laughed "If you do find it DO not show my husband. He'll drag me there and the last thing this crew needs is to see me skinny dipping."
Green chuckled. "Your secret is safe with me if it happens." Ro switched gears for a minute. "I haven't slept much in the past 24 hours. Commander O'Connell, Jamie, is now our Security Chief and maintaining the rank of commander. We had a transfer from 27, an Ensign Jamie T. Kirk, no relation, who is our new small craft chief. Aside from fighters, of course. She's opinionated and forthright but nothing we can't handle. For her first duty I'll assign her to see to arranging the cargo being beamed over. other than Operations and their part."
"I did see her transfer come through. She'll learn quickly, I was warned many times over my attitude and I made it this far. We'll teach her. If she argues over arranging the cargo send her to me. I remember the first time I was called to the CO's office, it was not pretty," Cyndi commented "I do have a question commander, we have a couple of high ranking Romulan Officials aboard, have you had the chance to speak to them and find out why we were boarded? I also am putting a notice in Herculoid, Long and Rivers files for how they handled themselves with the Romulans aboard. Despite differences they were exceptional and caused no issues."
"I say we leave them at 27 and wash our hands of it," stated Green. "I made a promise to a Romulan soldier, and I intend to keep it. They mean nothing to Amandora, it's all political. We don't need that headache right now, Cyndi."
"I like that idea," Cyndi agreed. "I'll have them beamed over before we pull out. What ever the promise you made I'll honor it. I trust your judgement and always have."
"That's why I wanted O'Connell to have Security Chief. When you put him in command he never hesitated to save this ship and crew. Fighting was not anywhere in his thoughts and it saved lives." Explained Green. "Same with Nix. I met her for a very limited time but I felt an instant bond. She's strong and a true benefit to Starfleet. I mean, I could spend another twenty minutes going through each officer and their worth to me. Our strength is in each of our individual strengths." Ro stopped talking and looked like she had something else to say but hesitated.
"What's on your mind Ro? Cyndi asked "You know you can ask or tell me anything. We've known each other far too long."
"I've started an Order for what I can do with the Core. The Meji. I have an Andorian diplomat as a witness and as a supporter, taking my want to establish a religion to the Federation Council. But, I am living it now and why I always wear my saber. And, recently, Zenni has shown the same abilities and has joined the Meji. I am her teacher. We serve Starfleet but this is our belief system. Just letting you know so you know why myself and Zenni are attached at the hip for the next few months. And, to seek your approval to conduct our studies on Amandora, and be respected as a religion."
"I have no problem with it, everyone has his or her own believes and your free to conduct your studies, Cyndi said "The Klingons and Vulcans each have their own customs."
Green gave a small sigh of relief, her shoulders slumping slightly. "Thank the Core. I really didn't know which way that would go. You have our thanks, Commodore. So, you are all caught up and I'll get the crew motivated to stow cargo, and then we can take a casual cruise for a few days to get to the job site, or max it out and get their in one day." She gave a pose of thinking a moment. "Too bad we don't have a hyperdrive, could get there in hours."
"Let's take a casual cruise and we'll arrive in a few days, if things get worse for them we can go to warp nine point nine if we have to," Cyndi said.
"Fair enough." Said Green. "I'll do a shipwide broadcast. I'll be on the Bridge." Green nodded respectfully and walked out on the Bridge, doing exactly what she said she would. A shipwide broadcast to inform the crew of their casual mission.
"I'll join you in a few minutes, get us underway," Cyndi said.
After the broadcast green spoke to Suvak and gave him the coordinates for Tython. Once the cargo was secure aboard then he was to engage without needing to wait. Rogue had assigned Kirk to direct the cargo transfer while letting Operations handle the moving from pad to secure hold. Once they reported finished then Suvak did as instructed and the Amandora shot off at warp four.
