After a good dinner at Sid’s, Tara paid the bill while Kristian tossed some money on the table for a tip. The three of them headed out of the restaurant, “This planet is wonderful,” Tara commented “It reminds me of home and Earth wrapped up in one.”

“It just feels good to be of the ship and have no one after us, the ship is not at alert,” Kristian said “It’s peaceful. I hope the commodore is following orders and is getting rest too. She’s been through a lot.”

“Knowing the admiral I’m sure she’s getting rest,” Alesha replied as they walked down the main street of the town. “The description of this planet said it has no moon,”

“I read that too,” Tara said “With no moon once the sun sets it’s going to be dark, granted there will be stars but that’s it. Unless?”

“What do you see?” Kristian asked as Tara had walked off a short distance, picked up several rocks and returned to the others “What are they, besides rocks?”

“Unless I’m wrong these rocks are the kind that catch the sunlight all day and once the sun sets these rocks will glow in the dark, I saw some along the roadway and it got me thinking. I don’t see any streetlights only these rocks laying on the ground and they’re laid out in a way that will light up things.”

“I’ve heard of them, but never thought I’d see them,” Alesha commented “But how bright will they be?”

“It will depend on the amount of sun they get and how big they are, the bigger the more light they’ll give off,” Tara replied as she put the rocks into her field kit for further study.

"Keep us posted on what you find with them," Kristian asked

"I will, and I'll share with the commodore, but my boss will come first. Have to follow chain of command," Tara said

"Let's find something to do, I don't want to go back to our hotel room just yet," Alesha said

"I hear music," Kristian commented

"Let's go," Tara responded as they headed in the direction of the music and soon found themselves at a large open air pavilion where a live band was playing and people were dancing and having a good time.

It didn't take long before the locals, Tara, Kristian and Alesha mingled. After several hours of dancing they thanked the locals for the good time and headed back to the hotel. Night had fallen by now and was quite dark as they returned to the hotel.

"I'm pooped, Tara said pulling off her shoes and rubbing her feet "But that was fun."

"It was at that," Kristian agreed "I'll need to return to the ship in the morning and check in."

"I should too as I've got a lot of information to go over and I want to study those glow in the dark rocks," Tara commented

"Well if your going back then I might as well go too," Alesha said "But right now I just want to get some sleep, it's been a long day and I'm tired."
