Mission: A Patrol and Supply mission
Location: Tython
Timeline: current

ON:

After spending the first couple of days gathering samples and being all sciencey, Zenni and Kirk decided to fly the Nile over to Tython City. Kirk started calling it that since she just didn't like the name Calikori. They had landed on a shuttlepad and closed up, locking down the ship after bathing and gettign itno fresh summery clothing. No matter what Zenni always wore a thin belt of some kind so her saber had somewhere to hook. That, and it provided a hands=free way of carrying other devices. Currently, Kahn was walking along slowly through the pavilion and Central Park, scanning with her tricorder as she went. She wasn't focused so much on the people as she was the construction, plants life and biodiversity within the city walls.

She and Jim (Kirk) were talking casually about numerous topics when Zenni stopped in her tracks and stared down at her tricorder.

Kirk had continued speaking, glancing to her left and not seeing who she thought she had been speaking to. Stopping she half turned and looked back, seeing the look of consternation on Kahn's face. "You okay, Zen?"

Zenni glanced up at Kirk then back down at the tricorder. She tapped keys and ran the scans through the filter again. Same result. All that data she sent to her PADD, encoded and locked down under her personal security as Chief of Counseling.

Kirk stood waiting, finally turning all the way to face her friend and step up. "Kahn, what is it?" Jamie could sense something was wrong but had no idea as to what.

"I need to speak to Doctor Long and the Commodore immediately." Said Kahn quietly, not knowing which pedestrians may be able to hear them.

Kirk noted the caution by the Counselor, not wanting to say something too loudly in case there were prying ears. Whatever it was that had shook the Trill it was important. "Alright. I think they're at the other end of this park. Should be a nice walk to meet up with them."

Kahn cleared her tricorder and PADD of any of the data she had found disconcerting, making sure that if anyone skimmed the open pages then they would not see her latest tasks. "Sounds good. This planet is a treasure trove for agriculture. Maybe a base would be in order?" They got moving again.

Kirk gave a cynical chuckle. "I wouldn't count on it. This place is nice but...veiled."

Now it was Kahn's turn to look mildly confused. "Veiled?"

"Oh yeah," responded Jim. "Haven't you noticed? We have been given the golden key yet many of the citizens want nothing to do with us, as if they have already decided how much aid they want from us. Sure, a steady flow of resources with trade agreements would do them good, but how much do we really know?"

Kahn already knew the answer to that, and the data to back it up. They were definitely hiding something, something that could tip the balance of power across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. This colony sat on the very edge of the unknown. Even probes hadn't been sent out beyond this star system and into the Unknown regions. All that she had seen on her devices showed that this colony was a cover for something far more heinous. Alone enough to build and create anything they wanted without scrutiny. "Not much," answered Zenni. "I think they're just unsure of our motives. I'm sure they'll warm when they realize we mean them no harm." She said that for the benefit of anyone who may be listening who wasn't Starfleet.
