#42 Almost First Contact

Posted on Sun Jul 10th, 2022 @ 4:00pm by Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Captain Sean Silk

Mission: A Patrol and Supply mission
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: current

ON:

Commander Green entered Sickbay, her eyes glancing around as she walked further into the medical chamber. Doctor Silk was tending to a group of ten children, all of them between 8-12 yrs old, coming in while in school for their monthly physicals. Sean, of course, was always brilliant when it came to making them feel at home, comfortable, and engaging. Not one of the children looked nervous or anxious in regards to being scanned, poked and prodded for the benefit of their health. If he ever had children she had no doubts he would be a fantastic father.

Silk, talking and laughing with the kids, had set up building blocks and snap together pieces that the children could use to entertain themselves while they waited. It pleased him to see them work together to come up with an architectural layout for a building or complex, each of them being listened to by the others before a conference took place to decide the final outcome for each piece. These kids, in his mind, were the ultimate marines. Improvise, overcome, adapt. Teamwork. And, everyone has a say before the final orders are given. Starfleet personnel would do well to emulate that amount of focus and fellowship, and often times, did so. Leaving them in their small area away from the main line of biobeds as he spotted Green, Silk made his way over to her. "So, have we left orbit?"

"We have," offered Green, her own mirthful expression showing that the stress of the past few days had slid off of her. "I sent a full report to Starfleet Command regarding everything about the Iconians and the complex. And, they were told about the Omega molecules. A diplomatic task force is being assembled to come here and open talks. In their eyes, independent colony or not, Tython needs supervision for the sake of all governments in this quadrant."

"Can't say that I blame them," said Silk. "That Omega crap is bad joojoo. Useful, I hear, but only to those who now how to properly manipulate that much power."

Green had been casually scanning the Sickbay as she listened and spoke. "Is Bjorgo still in the decon chamber?"

Sean gave a nod. "He is, yes. The guy has a serious fascination with hibernating life forms. I often wonder if that comes from the fact that he himself was created through science, not biology."

Ro had not entertained that line of thinking when it came to Tore's obsession with frozen life forms of Humanoid design. Or, in this case, a Vulcanoid. She had read his file over the past hour, wanting to know more about him. For personal, as well as, professional reasons. If not for him then Nira would not be a part of the crew and for that she thanked him from her heart. Nira was an exceptional friend and companion, one who had found love with the marine rebel, Sean Silk. "That could be," she answered. "I think it also has to do with the reputation of his kind; the Augments. Khan Singh left a bad taste in Starfleet's mouth and confirmed all that was ever said in regards to the Augments. Power hungry, superior in all ways physical, all that. This is him repenting, in my opinion."

"No one is beyond redemption, Commander." Sean said. "I truly believe that."

"As do I," Ro admitted. "That's part of the Meji Order's beliefs. Mercy is something we uphold. But, when we give a warning and it is not heeded, then there is no choice but to destroy that darkness."

"Need a marine in the Order," Silk asked with a cheeky smile, chuckling. He then waved it off with the same smile. "Just kidding. Mercy isn't my first priority when jacking up some dirt bag who deserves everything they get."

Green, when he finished his sentence she responded. "I'd be glad to have you, Sean." She looked away from him as she went to say more, her mouth closing when she saw Bjorgo come out of the medical lab area. "Doctor Bjorgo, over here," she called out.

Tore heard the call out, looking and grinning as he walked over. "Hello, you two." He said pleasantly to both, even as his eyes seemed to lock with Green's a bit longer than Silk's. There was interest there. "With your permission, Commander Green, our newest guest is still asleep but free of any contamination. We can beam her out here onto one of the biobeds and monitor her as she continues to rest. For whatever reason she hasn't awoken, yet."

"Could be the extended hibernation," offered Silk with his guess. "If she's been in there a while, like centuries, then getting her body back to normal operating parameters could take time."

Bjorgo gave a nodding grin. "You mirror my own thoughts, Silk." He looked to Green. "Commander?"

Ro had been thinking on the request. Waking Nira up had caused a bit of a fight. Hopefully, this woman would wake up a little less excitable. "You have my permission, Doctor. With all precautions, of course."

"Absolutely," responded Tore. He pulled out his tricorder to begin the transfer by transporter from capsule to biobed. The capsule would then be sent to the cargo bay for the Science department. "We're ready." Green gave him a nod while Silk stood by as added security should there be a ruckus. Tore had the transporter room site-to-site their guest to the biobed right next to them, and furthest from the main exit. He was glad to see the children present were across Sickbay from this area

The Vulcanoid woman dressed in an all white catsuit materialized on the biobed, laying like a corpse on her back with arms straight down at her sides. No gloves, no shoes, with the legs of the suit going to her ankles. Her skin did have the greenish hue to it, but it was barely perceptible due to her complexion which was just shy of being an olive hue. She was still unconscious but seemed to be breathing normally and her body relaxed.

"Good looking lady," said Silk. "I hope her attitude matches the wrapper."

"Tore," said Green, giving an order but keeping it casual and understanding. "Restraints, please. If you turn your back and she wakes we don't need her running all over the ship. Or, put her back in the tube."

Sean stepped in and pulled the restraints built into the biobed out for use, one on each ankle, one on each wrist. Enough to keep her on the bed, nothing more.

Bjorgo did not argue that point, knowing crew safety always came first.

Once that was done and everything seen to that she could, Green looked to the lads. "I have somewhere to be. When Long is ready try and make sure she is here for the awakening. I'll send Kahn in, too. She is the Counselor supreme, after all." Ro gave a cheeky grin and then turned and departed.

Bjorgo gave a chuckle along with Silk, Tore's eyes watching that beautifully sculpted body as it left his presence. "Damn," he said.

Silk's eyes went to Green's back as she went out the door, then came back to Tore's face with a grin. "You got that right. Good looking lady. But, mine is lavender so, have at it, Doc."

"Really?" Bjorgo asked in surprise, and joy. "That is excellent, Sean. Nira has a special place in my heart as a friend and colleague. She deserves a good mate."

"I appreciate that, Tore." Silk never thought of himself as an ideal mate, but Nira had clutched his heart with her own and that's all he cared about. "You and Green seem to be two of a kind. I can see something there."

Tore gave another chuckle. "Pursuit is worthy, for sure. Oh, and you just wait. If Nira hasn't taken you to Saqqar yet then you are in for a treat and an adventure. Her Eldritch Magick can transport her through the multiverse with little effort."

Silk smiled. "She said something about Saqqar once, but I never got to ask what that was about."

"Practice your combat skills, all I gotta say on that." They both laughed and went back to work monitoring the Vulcanoid while she slept. Silk placed a thermal blanket over her, going from just below the breasts to covering her feet. Her body temp, according to the bioscanner, was almost exactly that of a Vulcan. She burned hot, in other words. Having come out of hibernation her body would be cold and the cool air in Sickbay did not make it any better. And, if the body warmed a bit more then maybe the conscious state would awaken.
