Mission: The Restroffs (Space Spiders)
Location: Deck 36
Timeline: Post Number 33 After "The Issue"

Saunders was at the center of the pool table, all the readouts on the matter reactor injectant systems were nominal. "Matter reactor injector systems at 0.119 millecrons and set." He checked the computers and cross-referenced with the onboard level 3 diagnostics, ensuring everything was precise for the startup.

"Looks good." He let his brown eyes scan the coefficients and number readouts on the pool table in front of him. He leaned over it, placing his large hands at the sides, providing a subtle lean forward.

"Clinton," Saunders had tapped his communication badge. "How is the Magnetic Constriction segments polarizing?”

“I’m almost done checking the L34th, and then I have a level 3 diagnostic to run. I’ve had no problems, see no problems on my phased inducer readouts. “I’d say she’s about good as gold Chief.” Replied Lieutenant JG Clinton.

Just then, the central computer reported it's level 3 scan of the Antimatter Reactor Injectant system.
= Level 3 Scan Complete. Antimatter Reactor Injectant phase transition pressure 31,000 kilopascals. Results nominal. =

“That’s what we want to hear. I like it.” He re-checked the system, turning towards the antimatter reaction chamber, walking out to visually inspect the core.

“Tal.” Saunders walked towards the Centurion Officer was working on the critical electrodynamic field enhancer. This was important, as it would safeguard the warp assembly from any build-up of Restroff Theta Radiation bubbles. If they needed to Warp the heck out of here, and fast!

“How goes the work, Tal?” Saunders didn’t want to disturb Tal, yet he was curious considering how fast they needed to get this in operation.

Alona kept her eyes on the holographic screen before her, hands tapping keys in a quick and smooth fashion as she answered. "Almost finished, Chief. Your system isn't much different than the Romulan version so, I have been slowed slightly." A few more taps as his mouth opened as if to speak, her face turning his way with a cynical grin. "Finished," she added as she tapped the last key, the field rising up around the warp core. Her face returned to the screen, her hand pointing to a readout. "Antimatter inducers at nominal, and I will effort to smooth the stream further as we proceed."

Damien reviewed the schematic visual Tal had composed for the warp field. It was complicated and finely tuned to safeguard the engagement systems.

"Good work, Tal," Saunders stated after ensuring himself. He liked what he saw. Romulan systems were just as complex, even more so with generators involving cloaking technology. So, it was no doubt the engineering was sound. He cross-referenced all the inputs from Clinton, his work, and Tal's. The computer chimed that everyone's work suited.

= Chief Saunders to Capt. Song. Clinton, Tal and I have finished. We are ready for impulse, warp propulsion at your command. =

With that, the Engineering crew waited at their stations patiently. Saunders gave a sly grin at Tal. "Maybe later one this mission is through, we can all sit with a bottle of Romulan Ale. I have yet to break bread with you, Lieutenant."

With that, the warp core fusion systems completed their warm-up sequence, the injectors slowly beginning to pulsing blue, achieving reactions. The familiar hum of the galaxy class vessel resuming.
