Odac Yova was stoked to be leaving the ship and soon to see his wife But first he had to introduce Dorox to the Commanding Officer
" Relax she is real nice." Odac told Dorox.
" I'm not stressed. Women love me." Dorox replied.
Tapping the door chime they waited.
"Come in," Cyndi called
Odac entered and then Dorox and both stood before the Commodore at attention.
" Ma'am I have completed Lt Dorox tour and he is now ready to relieve me as the ships new Chief Engineer. With your permission I request to leave the ship and visit my family and new job." Odac stated.
"I hate to see you go," Cyndi said "You've been a good officer and my loss will be Mercury's gain. Lieutenant Dorox are you ready to take on the duties of chief engineer on a ship this size?"
" The Galaxy class is my specialty Commodore. My favorite however was the original Enterprise NX01. Simple but efficient So to answer your question Yes ma'am. "
"Enterprise NX01?" Cyndi asked confused. "I'm not familiar with that one."
" Captain Archer? Before your time Commodore," Dorox shrugged it off. Clearly she was not a student of science.
"He may have been, but I have heard the name over the years. I'd just never heard of his ship before," Cyndi commented "Some of his exploits were required reading in the academy."
" They paved the way ma'am. Do you have any questions of me? " Dorox replied.
"Not that I can think of, if Yova trained you and feels your ready for this posting then I'll leave it in your hands," Cyndi said.
Both nodded and turned to exit but Yova paused.
" May the Prophets always have your back Commodore. " he blessed her with a Bajoran saying.
"Thank you lieutenant, to say I'm going to miss you is an understatement," Cyndi said.
" Dorox will surprise you He and Thoros made friends. "
"I'm looking forward to it," Cyndi replied
