{Amandora}

After their meeting the five Officers assembled in Transporter Room One getting ready to depart to Zaris Three and get some commitments from the Governor before making any recommendations for Federation acceptance.

The officers stepped onto the Pads and the Operator awaited the order.

Cyndi looked to the transporter chief "You have the coordinates?"

"I do commodore," he responded

"Energize," Cyndi ordered

{Zaris Three}

"Herculoid you have Mala and Jobst meet us here in an hour, Nix take Doctor Long with you so she can see the Albaines first hand and I'll convince Kyron to have the leader of the Albaines here so we can all be on the same page," Cyndi said "I'll give him an hour that should be enough time."

"It would be my pleasure to escort Dr. Long to the Albaines" Nix replied then turning to Long "Right this way, it's not far away."

The two Officers made their way to the building where the people were being held. As they approached the iron door Nix stopped "Doctor let me go first just to make sure there's no surprises" Nix suggested.

Kristian nodded even though she had a phaser in her field kit "Just be careful."

Nix smiled "My job is to be careful for both our sakes" she commented. She tried the door and to her surprise it was unlocked; of course it was the middle of the day. Turning to the Doctor "Please follow me" she instructed.

The two Officers made their way down the stairs until they reached the guard's desk "Hello, we're from the Amandora and the Doctor here has been authorized to check on the prisoners so if you would so kind as to unlock the cell doors for her" Nix stated matter of factly.

The Guard stood and looked at the two of them "Who the hell do you think you are to come in here and demand anything" he said nastily.

Dunjen was not about to be intimidated by this guy as she walked right up to him and looked him squarely in the eyes "Tell you what, we can do this the easy way or the hard way...your choice...and trust me when I tell you you're not going to like the hard way" Nix stated sternly.

The Guard looked at the two of them then let out a long sigh "Alright, I'll unlock the cell doors for you but if I get into trouble for this I'm coming looking for you" he replied as he grabbed the keys and unlocked the cell doors.

After the doors were opened Nix looked at the Doctor "There you go....I'll wait out here for you just in case he tries to pull anything funny" she whispered.

"He tries anything he won't like what I can do to him," Kristian said walking into the cell, "I'm Doctor Kristian Long, I'm with the ship in orbit. I'm here to see if there are any concerns health wise you'd like me to take care of. My commanding officer is going to meet with Kyron to get you released. We were told you want aslyum. The ones called Mala and Jobst will be there too."

The lady looked at Kristan as the tears welled up in her eyes "Bless you my child if you can get us out of here" then she paused for a moment "You have no idea how long we've waited for this day" then she composed herself "There are a couple of the others over there who have a terrible cough if you'd care to see to them" the Lady explained. cracking a smile.

"I'll be glad to," Kristian said as she scanned the lady who had spoken to her "No one should live in these conditions. You need treatment too. Show me the ones who have are sick and I'll give you something too," Kristian loaded a hypo-spray with a strong antibiotic and pressed against the lady's neck.

"Thank you" the Lady replied starting to feel a little better.

Meanwhile Nix stood outside the cells keeping a close watch on the area just in case someone decided to cause trouble.

Kristian spent the next thirty minutes treating the Albaines. Finally most of them had been treated. Walking over to Nix "These people need to get our of here. I can't treat them all here. I need sick bay on the ship. Living in the dark, damp cells they are all suffering. It's time we take some of them to meet Kyron, Mala, Jobst, Herculoid and the commodore and lay this on the line."

"I agree Doctor" Nix stated then turning to the Guard "We need to take this Lady with us to meet with the Governor."

The Guard shook his head "I'm sorry but hat's not possible" he replied sternly.

"Well, this is what's going to happen. We are taking this Lady with us with or without your consent. I would strongly suggest that you don't test me....you won't like the outcome" Nix stated matter of factly.

The Guard just looked at Nix "Since you put it that way....I guess I don't have a choice...just make sure you bring her back when your finished" he replied.

"Fair enough" Nix replied then turning to the Doctor "I think we should leave and go meet with Kyron and settle this matter for these people once and for all."

So the three walked up the stairs and made their way to the Governors Office to meet up with the rest of the Officers.

{Kyron's Office}

Tara had convince Mala and Jobst to meet her at Kyron's office, Cyndi was already there when Kristian entered with Nix and the Lady.

"Commodore this is one of the Albaines, there are a lot more locked in cells which are damp, dark and unhealthy," Kristian said "I need to get them to the ship where they can be properly treated."

"This is Mala and Jobst, they are the leaders of the hidden world. This is Doctor Long the ship's CMO and our commanding officer Commodore Cyndi Song. I'm Tara Herculoid the chief diplomatic officer and assistant science chief, It's time we all met."

The Governor looked at everyone present and figured this was going to be a tough meeting as he smiled "Please come into the Conference Room and have a seat then we can discuss what's on your minds" he stated then looked at the Lady "Is it really necessary to have her here" as he pointed to the Albaine.

Not really caring for Kyron's tone O'Connell spoke up "Yes it's absolutely necessary that this lady be here since we'll be deciding the fate of her and her people" Jamie stated matter of factly.

"Fine!....shall we get started then" Kyron suggested being a little stern at the moment.

"You need to hear what she has to say," Kristian said

"They've asked for asylum and you need to be made aware of the conditions she and her people have been forced to live in," Cyndi said her tone leaving no room for argument "And the little people as well. Things on this planet for both species have not been favorable."

Kyron chose his next words carefully "Commodore I've already told the Commander here that if those people asked for asylum, then I would approve it just as long as it's off Zaris Three" he stated looking Cyndi in the eyes "If they want to go with your Ship so much the better."

"I'm aware of that and my science department is already looking for a planet where they can be re-located. I want you to hear from this lady about the conditions they've been living in. My CMO has treated several of her people," Cyndi said turning to the lady "It's time to tell him what you've been forced to deal with, you will be going to my ship very soon."

The Lady gathered her thoughts then began " Sir, our people have endured dark, damp, and chilly surroundings for quite some time. Some of our old and frail have already perished just because our skin color is different. I've heard the arguments, but it's merely a genetic anomaly...nothing more" she explained with some hope in her voice.

Kyron remained silent and had nothing to say as he let out a long sigh.

"Your killing those people," Tara said

Cyndi turned to Nix, "Take Doctor Long with you, have them beamed aboard the ship. They need to report to sick bay for further treatment. Doctor on my authority you assign them guest quarters."

"As you wish Commodore" Nix replied as she stood and waited for Kristian.

Kristian nodded "Understood commodore."

The two Officers left with the Lady to free her people and get them aboard Ship. Once inside the prison it gave Nix great pleasure to tell the Guard "Sir you are to release these folks at once and they are going with us.....no arguments" she stated.

The Guard looked at both women and shrugged as he open the cell doors knowing any objections would be pointless. Everyone left the building and these people got to see sunlight for the first time in a long, long time.

Once outside Nix did a head count then tapped her Comm "Transporter Room this is Dunjen, twenty to beam to the Ship" came the order and moments later everyone was gone including Nix and Kristian.

"Next issue is your treatment of the little people who were here before you came and what you've done to them," Cyndi said.

Kyron felt like he was about to go from the frying pan into the fire as he explained "Sadly the little people were under Denor's care. Little did I know what was happening and as soon as I found out he was arrested right away; you can ask your Commander since he was here when it happened." Jamie nodded in agreement.

"What Kyron said is true to a point," Mala said as she stood on the table "When Kyron and Denor discovered us they both had a hand in taking our Moths and stomped on the mushrooms they ate, We fled into the area where your diplomatic/science officer found us. It was them who caused the sky to go from pink to that of blue,"

"Is it possible for the sky to return to pink and for both of you live in harmony?" Cyndi asked

"Yes," Jobst spoke up "We were here long before Kyron and his people. We are willing to live in peace as long as they leave the care of the Moths to us same with them creating our homes. We depend on the Moths and without them we'll die."

O'Connell looked at Kyron rather irritated "Governor it seems you failed to mention this in our previous conversation" he stated as he could feel his Irish temper beginning to flair.

Kyron knew he had better come clean "Yes Mala is correct" looking at her "I am sincerely sorry if we've caused you any problems, it was not my intention" then turning to the rest "I have drafted stronger laws and more severe punishment for anyone who infringes on their world" he stated "Commodore you have my promise to leave these folks to their own management and yes we can live in peace with one another."

"And what were your reasons for the Albaines" Tara asked "The commodore will have the final say in whether or not you join the Federation," Tara commented

"I'll have a diplomatic ship sent here to monitor things and report to Lieutenant Herculoid. If during the next six months to a year if we like the reports we get then I'll petition the Federation for your admittance. I trust that will work for both sides?" Cyndi asked

Jobst and Mala exchanged a look and nodded "We agree," Jobst said.

"We believed that if the Albaines mated with our normal people it would corrupt not only our species but our society as a whole. That was the reason they were confined Lieutenant" Kyron explained then thought for a moment "We're willing to do whatever is needed to become part of the Federation even if it does take a year."

"And that is the reason you locked them up?" Tara asked

"In any case they will leave with my ship. They need medical attention. Most are sick," Cyndi said. "We've given you a lot to think on and you have a lot of work to do. My report will say your membership is under review pending a diplomatic report."

Kyron thought for a moment "That wasn't the outcome that I hoping for obviously, but I'll take it" he commented "Rest assured Commodore things will improve greatly for Mala and her people. So was there anything else you wanted to discuss....if not i think we're finished here."

"Herculoid anything else from you?" Cyndi asked

"Not at this time, but I will be checking in at times," Tara said

Cyndi stood "Then we're done here, the Albaines have been transported to my ship and we'll be on our way."

The Governor stood "Thank you Commodore, and your Officers, for your help in getting us ready for a possible inclusion into the Federation" Kyron commented being glad the meeting was over.

The Three Officers left and when outside Commander O'Connell tapped his Comm "Transporter Room this is O'Connell, three to return to the Ship" and moments later they were gone.
