BUGS OH NO!!
Location: asteroid
Timeline: current
ON:
Bjorgo arrived at the coordnantes he had set for the freighter. Fiddling with the communications hub he then sent a signal to the interior of the asteroid, an AM band that had been designated by the Overseer. A few minutes went by as he waited, his patience pushed to the limit knowing that Perzha was being held in an unknown location being tortured and caged so that this Overseer could use Tore for their own purposes. It would destroy everything he had fought so hard to achieve to make Augments trusted in the Federation. But, Perzha was worth. Perhaps they could be housed next to each other at the penal colony.
There was a return signal and then he felt the familiar energy tickling of a transporter and he was taken to the interior. Materializing, Bjorgo noted he was in a massive cylindrical chamber, standing on a bridge. The chamber looked like it was made from black marble except the white intermix one would normally see seemed to be a lighter shade of black and, it had the appearance of being wet. Nothing dripped down the walls or made dripping sounds anywhere that he could hear. Stepping to the edge of the bridge he stood upon Tore looked down into an abyss. Nothing but blackness as far as his eyes could see.
The bridge he stood on was one of two, with a central hub towering up from the black depths below. The level of the hug and bridges was exact, no seams to note it had been pieced together with the hub. It was all one solid piece of...whatever. However, the central hub platform had a circular control station ten meters across, dead center, and upon that sat what appeared to be some kind of fusion drive or power core. The quantum singularity drive, he was sure. Coming from around the side of the reactor that was blocked from his viewpoint, the Overseer appeared. And, what he saw surprised him.
A woman came around the consoles and stood before him, some thirty meters away, holding a staff of some kind in the upright position, the spade end resting on the floor (Her leather garments and staff weapon is consistent with the Jaffa from SG-1). Her beauty was striking except for the amber glow to her eyes, something he had seen happen to Green from time to time. So, another Core user, he thought. Her long, pitch black hair was braided down her back.
"Greetings, Doctor Bjorgo. It was kind of you to do as I asked. Please, forgive me for the unorthodox way I enlisted your services."
"You want forgiveness." Bjorgo responded, his tone none too kind. "Get religion."
"Know this, Augment," stated Jynxza, not at all in the persona of the Overseer. She was who she was now and nothing would keep her from reaching her goals. "I will destroy you with a smile on my face. You, and your kind, are an abomination." She made several strides forward, carrying her staff weapon in her right hand, leaving twenty meters between them. She watched her enemy reach up and pull out his own weapon, a Romulan teral'n. He activated the blades and the mace-like head formed with razor sharp blades and a crushing bauble in the center top, the blades situated to cut no matter how one struck an opponent. Reversed in the hand the teral'n could be used as a footman's lance to stab deep into the torso, with a balance ideal for throwing if need be. The bridge was fifteen meters wide to provide plenty of room for melee, and at the end she would kick his body into the abyss.
Bjorgo charged forward and began to attack, swinging with perfection and clarity, each blow being blocked by this woman and that staff. She was quite the skilled combatant and she had strength and dexterity to match his own. Tore struck at her time and again and with a well-conceived strike he knocked the staff out of her hand and then immediately recovered to try and sideswipe across her midsection. She hopped back on the balls of her feet and bent her waist back to avoid the strike, respecting his combat abilities. They danced around as she avoided his blows with ducks, and a tuck and roll to end up going passed him. Not once had she reached for her staff.
Bjorgo was not winded but it had been some time since he faced anyone even close to his own strength, aside from Romulans and other Vulcanoids. He spun in place to face the woman, stepping in and bringing his teral'n down for an overhead strike. Jynxza saw the blow coming and remained still, lifting her left hand at the last moment in an open palm stance as if she intended to catch the hilt of his weapon. But, that is not what happened. Instead, the teral'n came down and stopped six inches from her palm, midair, as if held by an unseen force. She did a circular 'wax-on' move while the Core held his weapon close to striking. Try as he might as the motion was made, Tore could not free it.
With his focus on her hand and what she was doing with his weapon, Jynxza gave him a straight kick to the chest and sent him tumbling back, his weapon released so he could catch himself and hearing it clatter to the deck as she reached her right hand out and her staff flew into her grasp. Arranging it quickly she aimed the weapon at him and the front portion split open with an ionic flashing and he could see a barrel. Jynxza let fly three plasma bolts from the weapon, watching as the Augment did acrobatics to avoid the shots. No matter. Dropping the staff Jynxza came in fast and began the hand-to-hand, each of them exchanging blows and blocks at blurring speed, both suffering cuts and abrasions on their arms and faces.
No matter how hard he was hitting her, no matter how many times, Jynxza did not seem to be weakening. His own body was beginning to feel the strain but would recover if he could buy some time to do so. The only thing he could hide behind for a minute would be the singularity drive. However, this Jynxza had maintained her place between himself and the device.
Jynxza noted his eyes going passed her, over her shoulder to look to the drive. Her smile was as cold as an Andorian winter. "You cannot win. Surrender and I will kill you quick. You are interfering by wasting my time."
"Like I give a damn about your wasted time," answered Bjorgo. "Release Perzha and I will leave, collect her, and be gone. I can't return to Starfleet, and I will be hunted by the Federation for the rest of my days. But, I will have my sister..."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Jynxza responded. "You are a victim for two reasons. First, your own ignorance. Second, your own bad choices. I care not for your life, nor that of your sister. As I said, abominations are to be destroyed."
Tore was regaining his endurance and decided to keep her talking for another minute or two. "Overseer, there is no rea..."
"Jynxza!" She shouted. "I am Jynxza, Champion to Qeritas, and I will have my revenge in this life or the next." Her left hand came up in an open palm and Bjorgo was smacked in the chest by an invisible force and sent reeling backwards as he tumbled ass over tea kettle. Coming to a stop prone on his belly, shaking off the effects of the unseen impact. His chest ached a bit as he began to to get up, hands and knees first, and then starting to rise to his feet. He got hit in the chest again but this time his ears heard the plasma weapon go off and the pain that shot through his body was excruciating. She had shot him as he recovered to his feet, and now he was on his back again with serious trauma to his torso.
Jynxza watched as he had regained his feet, and before he could fully regain his center she took up her staff and fired one shot into his chest, slightly right of center. As designed the staff weapon cauterized the wound even as it ripped a hole in his chest and fried the flesh and bone beneath. Had she shot him in the neck it would have blown his head off, clean. Once he landed on his back, his body in shock and trying to deal with the damage, Jynxza dropped the staff and reached her hand out, the teral'n flying into her grip in a reverse hold. With a blood curdling shriek she leaped through the air, covering the ten meters with ease and came down at his right side. The teral'n lance was buried into his chest, so hard she heard the 'chink' from metal striking stone as it punched through his back and destroyed his spine. Despite the grievous wound he had just received this Augment reached his right hand up and clutched her throat with only half his strength. The blood spurted from his wounded heart even as he tried to choke the life from her. Jynxza moved the hilt this way and that, making sure he was dead and that no amount of medical aid would resuscitate him. "Goodbye, Doctor." Leaning down as she released the hilt she kissed his forehead. "I thank you for the pleasure of this dance."
Standing up Jynxza collected her staff, but instead of kicking him over the edge she let his corpse lie. If anyone came knocking, or found their way inside, then it would give her an advantage with the mere shock value of seeing a dead comrade.
