{CSO's Office}

Lieutenant McTavish walked into his Office for one of the last times as he finished off all the pending reports and straightened things up for the new CSO which was due to arrive soon.

James saw a message from Commander Green marked urgent which he read that put a smile on his face. Tapping his Comm "Lieutenant Herculoid please report to the CSO's Office" came the order as he grabbed a water. Not only would he inform Tara of his impending departure from the Ship but also there was a surprise he wanted to share with her as her superior officer.

Hearing the summons, it sounded like she was possibly in trouble, tapped her com-badge, "On my way lieutenant," Tara headed for the science department as she'd gone to her quarters for a shower and change on clothes. Walking into James office her hair still damp from the shower "I'm sorry for my attire but your call sounded urgent," she was dressed in a pale blue dress and sandals.

James smiled "You look just fine Lieutenant and please have a seat" he commented then took a breath before continuing "I'll get right to the point. You may or may not know, but I have accepted a position at the Academy as Chair of the Space Science Division and Heather one as a Researcher at Star Fleet. We will be leaving the Amandora as soon as we arrive at the Base" he explained and waited the news to sink in.

"Leaving? But no I'd not heard that you've accepted a position at Starfleet Academy. I'm going to miss you and Heather, we've worked well together" Tara said a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Yes that we have. I do have a replacement coming when we reach the base, although I have no idea who or weather it's a man or a woman. Admiral Pierce was very tight lipped about it. Whoever it is I'm sure you'll get along with them just fine; you are very easy to get along with" James replied with a smile.

"I try lieutenant," Tara said "I do have a temper, but I keep a tight hold on it."

"And you do manage it quite well" James replied "Now on to some good news. This will be my last official act as CSO. Lieutenant Tara Herculoid it is my pleasure and honor to inform you that Command has recommended you for Star Fleet's Bronze Star for your gallantry in assisting Rivers and Kirk in shutting down the singularity. Congratulations Tara; it's well deserved. Also there will be a formal Ceremony at a later date" James concluded with a heart felt smile.

"Bronze Star for gallantry? I didn't do anything special, but thank you," Tara said clearly surprised "I'm a warrior by nature and it's just instinct."

"Command obviously thought it was something special and like I said you deserve it" James replied "Just so you know all of the reports have been read and signed off by myself so hopefully the new CSO will be along soon" then James stood "I don't like good-byes so let me just say Tara it was a pleasure working with you and I wish you all the best in your career."

Tara stood as well, "Thank you James, you have a bright future ahead of you as well. It's been an honor serving with you. Please let Heather know I'll miss her as well and I look forward to meeting the new chief."

"Yes I'll let Heather know" James replied as Tara turned and left his Office. James sat down and wrote a note to the new CSO, whoever that may be, letting the person know where the labs were located and letting them know who their Assistant was.

After reading the note over James left it setting on the desk then grabbed a small box to put what few personnel items that were in his Office. Once done James headed for the door....took one last look around....."Compute lights off" then he closed the door one last time.

{Bridge}

James met Heather on Deck 1 to meet with both the Commodore and the XO to say their good-byes; of course the blow had been softened by Admiral Pierce's call to Cyndi prior. After a brief meeting they were both given well wishes by Command.

They made their way back to their Quarters to start the task of packing up all their belongings.
