James and Heather had left the ship, the commodore had called for department reports and supply requests. Having been a department head Tara knew just what Cyndi needed. The minute the ship had docked she’d done the reports and requests. She’d met Ainkara and she liked the new member of the crew.

Feeling a little homesick Tara had called for the Amazon Flag Ship to come bring her to Amzock for a few days to a week. Kristian had teased her about needing some pampering and maybe she did. Truth was she missed her parents, Tara had always been close to her parents and being an only child had been the reason for it. She often envied Kristian and Alesha who had brothers.

Tara had received word that the West Wind had docked three docks from the Amandora and her mother was aboard. Question now was would Kristian and Alesha head home with her or were they going to remain on the base? Deciding to see if her cousin and Alesha were going with her Tara headed out of science and made her way to sick bay.

Tara walked in a few minutes later and after finding out the CMO was in her office Tara walked back and poked her head in and saw Kristian with her foot propped up on a stool with an ice pack on her ankle.

“How bad is it?” Tara asked reverting to the Amazon language

“Hurts like hell,” Kristian admitted also reverting to the native language as well. “I heard from Katrina that the doctors back home can fix it. She didn’t go into detail but I’m willing to give it a shot.”

“It should have been fixed when it happened,” Tara said

“It should have been but we were just coming off a war,” Kristian reminded her “I just need to contact mum and see about a ride home to get my ankle fixed.”

Tara grinned “The West Wind is here, I called home and mum brought it out so your ride is here. It’s docked three rings from us. The new science chief is aboard and she’s going to want to meet me. We can be ready to leave later today or tomorrow if you can be packed that soon.”

“I’ll be ready,” Kristian said putting her boot back on “There’s nothing for me to do right now as we’re docked and my patients are discharged. Tell you what I’ll go pack and then head down to see if Alesha is interested in going home with us. You meet your new boss and then we can go home for a week.”

“That’s a good idea, that way I can give my new boss my full attention and you can talk to our dare devil,” Tara said hugging her cousin as she headed out.
