{Deck 5 - Quarters}

Lieutenant Zolon finished her breakfast and dressed in a clean crisp uniform in hopes of meeting her Commanding Officer this morning before touring the different Labs.

Grabbing her PADD, and placing it in her right hip pocket, Cass then tapped her Comm "Commodore Song this is Lieutenant Zolon the new CSO I was wondering if we could meet at your convenience of course" she requested being a little nervous.

Cyndi tapped her comm "I'm free now lieutenant, I'm in my quarters. Please come here."

"On my way Commodore" Cass replied before hurrying out the door.

{C.O.'s Quarters}

With PADD in hand Cass found her way to Cyndi's quarters. Approaching the door she took a deep breath as she thought "Here we go" then palmed the door chime, stepped back with her hands clasped behind her waist.

Cyndi walked to the door and palmed the sensor letting the door slide open, stepping back "Please come in."

"Good Morning Commodore thank you for meeting with me; I hope I'm not intruding" Cassandra commented standing with her back straight wanting to make a good first impression.

"Your not intruding, please have a seat," Cyndi said leading the way into the living room. "Can I offer you something to drink? I'm one of those CO's who always has time for her officers and crew. My husband was the same way when he had his command and I find it works better."

Cassandra sat in the offered seat feeling a little more at ease "No, I'm fine Ma'am. The reason I wanted to meet is to explain to you who and what I am. Hopefully when we're finished you'll be comfortable with me being a part of your Crew."

"Please call me Cyndi, we're in my quarters. I have read your file so what more is there to know about you?"

"Thank you Cyndi and you can call me Cass" she replied with a smile "I'm not sure how much information is in my file so I'll start from the beginning. I am a Priestess of Sadar, although I've had to set my title aside when I joined Star Fleet; but I am still very much a Priestess. I am able to bring forth fire as well as anti-fire; control, manipulate, and create objects, weapons, and other things as well. Matter of fact I fashioned a bookcase in my Quarters when I arrived."

"That Cass is impressive, someday you'll have to show me," Cyndi replied "Your not the only one aboard with a title, two don't acknowledge it. The other two have documented on file titles are on hold. I'm sure you've met Herculoid. She's one and I'm the other one."

"I met with the Lieutenant yesterday and she did share that part of her personnel life with me" Cass replied "It's good to know I'm in such great company. She also informed me that you have a private Lab as well."

"I do, I love science and am in the lab when my duties as ships commanding officer and spending time with my husband," Cyndi said "I taught science at the academy, it's always been my first love."

Cassandra grinned "Now that's impressive; a C.O. who has another interest beside commanding a Ship, you don't see that very often" she commented feeling very at ease around Cyndi.

"Thank you," Cyndi said "They had to talk me into accepting this command and once I got used to the idea I was glad to have it. The promotion to commodore was a surprise. That's the reason I don't use my husband's last name because he's a retired rear admiral and I don't need or want any talk about favorites because of who he is."

"That certainly makes sense; one wants to make one's own way without the influence of what other's have done" Cass replied then continued "I should probably be going as I'm eager to tour the Labs and meet my Staff. Thank you Commodore for a lovely chat and I hope our conversation concerning my gifts have put your mind at ease."

Cyndi picked up a PADD and jotted down the access codes to her private lab "If you'd like to have a look in my lab as science chief this will get you into it. Also like I've said my door is always open if you need anything. I'm glad we had this chance to talk as well."

Cassandra grabbed the offered PADD then keyed in the code into her own before handing it back to Cyndi "Yes thank you I'll check it out and if you need anything for it please don't hesitate to ask" she stated "And thank you also for this time to talk and the offer of the open door" she concluded then stood offering her hand "It was very nice to meet you Cyndi and I look forward to working under your Command."

Cyndi took the offered hand, perhaps next time you stop by maybe my husband will be here. And yes if I need anything for my lab I will let you know. I too look forward to serving with you. I do believe you'll be an asset to the science department."

"Thank you Cyndi for your faith in me" Cass said with a smile then turned and left to start her tour of the Labs.
