{Deck 5 - CSO's Office}

Lieutenant Zolon was at her desk, with her favorite morning beverage....chocolate milk, going through Science's Personnel files when she noticed a new name....Ensign Ilim Ocha, Science Officer. Reading over his file Cass noticed his specialty was Botany; something that her Department could use. Cass made a note in her PADD to remind herself to meet this newest member of her Team at a later time.

After hearing that the XO had returned from leave, and was back aboard, Cassandra was anxious to meet the XO since this person was the liaison between the Crew and the C.O.; not to mention Cass was a Department Head.

Tapping her Comm "Commander Green, this is Lieutenant Zolon the new CSO; I was wondering if we could meet at your convenience" she explained.

Sitting in the main lounge, over at a window seat at a small table for two, Ro heard the communication through her badge. She tapped hers to respond. "I look forward to that, Miss Zolon. I am currently in the lounge, or I can come meet you." Green waited to see what choice the Lieutenant would make. If she was in the middle of something in the SCI department then Green did not want to inconvenience the officer, and was not above going to them.

Thinking that the Lounge would be a little less formal for a meeting, Cassandra responded " Commander I will meet you in the Lounge in five Zolon out". She grabbed her PADD, closed and secured her Office and made her way to the Commander.

Lieutenant Zolon walked into the area and paused looking around, since she had no idea what the XO looked like, then saw a women by a window looking up and motioning her way.

Cassandra walked over to the women and smiled "Commander Green?, I'm Lieutenant Cassandra Zolon" she stated standing tall out of respect for her superior.

Green had been keeping an eye on the entryway to the lounge, waiting to see someone in any of the SCI blue that they may wear on their person. A rather exotic looking female came through the door, stopped, and scanned the room with her eyes. I minor tremor in the Core told her this was Lieutenant Zolon so, Ro waved her over as she stood to greet her, her brain on auto-pilot as she adjusted the saber hilt on her left side. "A pleasure, Cassandra." Not knowing the cultural norms for the woman Green chose not to extend her hand, instead using it to motion to her table. "Please, join me." As they sat down across from each other, starbase Pegasus making for a fantastic backdrop to their conversation, Ro went on. "I'll start by saying welcome aboard." She gave a friendly grin.

Zolon smiled "Thank you Commander for taking the time to see me, it's nice to be here and please call me Cass" she stated sensing something very different about this women; she was multi facetted and had a certain calm about her.

"I'm that XO who's door is always open, Cass," Green said. "As for names, when not in an official capacity such as now in the lounge, my first name is Rogue. A bit on the cheek, so I go by Ro," she gave a smile as she wanted to see how the younger woman was adjusting to the ship. "How are you settling in? Anything you need me to see to?"

"I'm settling in quite well Ro. I've already met Commodore Song as well as Commander O'Connell and his lovely wife Heather and also Lieutenants Dunjen and Herculoid; not to mention most of my Staff. I'm fine at this time but if something comes up I'll be sure and let you know" Cass commented returning the smile.

While sitting, relaxed and chatting, the Core felt a power within this woman. Ro did not focus on it, nor did she reach out with Sense, letting the Core operate as it would. That, and the way Cass carried herself was full of confidence, with no fear, trepidation or anxiety being sensed. "You seem--quite well adjusted. I'm glad. Amandora can be...strange, for outsiders. We have a very unique bunch aboard, regarding both species and abilities. If you don't mind the query, is there anything out of the ordinary, or metaphysical, I should know? If it is something you prefer not to address then I will let it drop."

"No that's quite alright, there is something about me you should know being the Second in Command" she commented, paused then continued "Besides being Chief Science Officer I am first and foremost a Priestess in the Order of Sedar; it's who and what I am" as she let what she had just said infiltrate Ro's brain matter.

Green gave a heartfelt smile, leaning back casually in her chair. "I, too, have my abilities. As the Grandmaster and founder for the Meji Order I try and find others with unusual abilities to confer with. My power comes from what I call the Core. Meaning, the core energy of the Universe. In another galaxy that same power is known as the Force. Aside from myself there is Chief Nira, who you can't miss once you see her. Lavender skin, looks like an Earth version of an elf, and can manipulate what she calls Eldritch Magick. Her mode of dress is usually a rather skimpy black bikini made from a material that seems alive of its own accord. Lately, she dons a uniform now and then." That brought forth a grin. "And, she is a dear friend. Her species is called Puazi, from the moon Puaza, in the Andromeda galaxy."

Ro sat up again, her eyes full of meaning. "Thank you for sharing. Trust is most important to me. That we all trust each other, through good and bad. The crew knows of my abilities and Nira's, and though they don't really understand it all they are supportive. And, their anxiety has began to diminish greatly. I won't air your abilities to others. If you want people to know then you'll do that your way. I would never presume to speak for you on the matter."

"Thank you for your consideration but I know that as time goes on more and more of the Crew will become aware of my abilities which I fully expect and am fine with" Cass responded "And just so you're aware of my abilities, I am able to fully control one of the four elements...mine being fire; both fire and anti-fire to fashion all sorts of things from weapons to objects."

Green gave a light laugh. "Well, in that case you, me, and Nira would make quite the trio on a landing party." Still smiling but being as serious as the conversation allowed, Green went on. "I'm glad you are the Science Chief. Herculoid is no slouch but she has her duties as Diplomatic Chief to consider as well. And, with your abilities I'm thinking scientific disciplines come rather easily to you. I am familiar with a few areas, but mainly for engineering purposes." Curious, Green asked another query. "I could sense in you the power you possess, not on a grand scale but it was there. Do you sense metaphysical energy, as well?"

Cass thought for a moment before answering "I am studying continuously to perfect my craft; the more I study and learn the more my power within will increase. As far as the metaphysical, I can to some extent. I'm able to enter what we call the 'Sojon' where I meditate until my spiritual body leaves my physical body to travel back in time in order to obtain enlightenment if my balance is off" she explained knowing that Ro would understand.

Ro gave her a nod, understanding the need for training and practice. The Core did not come easy to those who could wield it, but with time and training it became stronger as they learned to focus and learned better control. "Rather like the Core, I would think. If you ever need time off duty to see to your beliefs, don't hesitate to ask. I spend a great amount of time in meditation myself, to attune myself and become one with the Core." Green found it interesting that a work meeting had become a discussion about beliefs and energies used. But, it was a casual meeting just by the location in which it was happening. "Miss Cass, I think your appointment to Amandora will be good for all of us. Again, welcome. It will be nice to chat with someone now and then who understands the difficulty in having strange abilities."

"Thank you Ro, I will certainly remember your offer" she paused before continuing "Even though I have only been aboard a short time, this already feels like home to me and it's nice to know there are others similar to myself. Thank you for your time and counsel" Cass smiled then rose from her seat and left the Lounge feeling quite good about meeting the XO.
