BUGS OH NO!!
Location: MidroaIII
Timeline: Current

Tara changed into soft blue dress, that fell just below her knees, slipping on a pair of sandals, pulling her hair back into a log ponytail something she seldom wore but the temperature of the planet reminded her of Amzock and this would be cool and comfortable. Pinning her com-badge on Tara picked up her PADDS and headed for the transporter room. Walking in she looked to the operator "Please beam me down to these coordinates," Tara handed him where she wanted to beam down to.
"Not a problem lieutenant," he said
Tara stepped onto the padd and nodded to the operator, in seconds the transporter room of the Amandora was replaced by the planet surface. Seeing the governor sitting on a bench overlooking the lake Tara walked over to where he was sitting. "Governor do you have time to talk? The waterfall is done and I have some scans of your moon I'd like to show you."
Dwight Bachman had heard the transporter, hoping it was Ro coming to check on his progress with succession. Although it was not his beloved he was not upset to see another guest. He gave his usual smile and waved her over. "Come on over, Tara. The engineers let us know the waterfall was finished and they are going up with a group to get the turbines running. Please, have a seat and show me what you have about the moon."
Tara took a seat "My cousin, Doctor Kristian Long, and I once things were finished with the waterfall and my engineers from my home planet left. Since no one had said anything about the moon I asked her if she'd be willing to take orbit it for a bit so I could scan it. I don't know if your aware of it. But there is life there."
Dwight nodded while listening. "We knew it was more a class-M than Midora, but we had not done any concrete probes or scans of it. Are we talking animal life or civilization life?"
"A combination of both, we thought about landing but considering the quality of the air and the large animals we found especially what could be called flying monkeys with a gargoyle type face with a long pointed tail that resembles a dragons tail we knew better than to risk it. From what scans shows it is in early form of development and it appears that the animals and beings prey on each other," Tara said.
"That's to be expected," said Dwight. "In an ecosystem teeming with life there will always be predators. And, as for landing, that would have been against your Prime Directive, I think."
"To a point, yes, the scientist in me wanted to take a closer look, but considering things we thought better of the idea. The large animals easily could take down a shuttle and it's doubtful those beings had ever seen humans before. So I ran some very detailed scans," Tara replied "Non interference is something Starfleet prides on. My home planet has a moon that is in early development and it's off limits to only five people myself being one. It's my recommendation that your moon be listed off limits and let these being and animals develop on their own."
Dwight gave a chuckle and knowing smile. "It will be, trust me. Midora prides itself on keeping things as close to natural as possible. However, you do realize that starships can be seen against the backdrop of a planet, right? From the surface. The colony will ensure that ships arriving will be diverted to another trajectory so as not to be seen. You may want to consider that for your home moon."
Tara nodded "I'll inform our rulers, thank you. Currently any ship that gets too close is warned and if they ignore the warnings and advance into the moon's atmosphere a warning shot is fired. I also wish to apologize for our first meeting. My eagerness got in the way. I'm not only the assistant science chief but I'm the Chief Diplomatic Officer. I was out of line and for that sir I'm sorry."
"I appreciate the apology, and accept, but it's not necessary. I wasn't on my best behavior either. Whenever new ships show up I get tense, not knowing what to expect. So, the apology is returned." He kept smiling and Dwight got a glint in his eye. "You know, we really should try and find common ground. It will be better in the long run." He said that as if hinting at something, but kept it veiled, his eyes showing a bit of mischief.
Grinning at him "And what kind of common ground would that be?" Tara asked as she saw the glint in his eye.
"The kind that keeps us from making a scene around people we know," Dwight answered. "I'm stepping down as Governor. My successor, the interim governor until another election can happen, is at the waterfall. I was just enjoying another seat by the lake since it will be a while before I can do it again. I'll be signing on aboard the Amandora as a civilian crew person."
"Welcome to the ship," Tara said sincerely "It will be good to have you aboard. Commander Green is quite taken with you but then you know that."
Hearing that made Dwight bust out laughing. Once he got himself under control he asked. "Then you haven't heard?"
"Apparently not," Tara admitted "Please enlighten me."
Still chuckling at the lack of information, not at Tara herself, Dwight went on. "Ro and I are together. An item. Probably will be the rest of our days. That's how hard we fell for each other. And, I'm sure others up there already know so I can't spoil anything by telling you. She is carrying my children. Twins, she says. A boy and girl." He couldn't help but chuckle, which was more at his own good fortune than for anything else.
"That's wonderful!!!! Congratulations to you as well. That's is the best news I've had in a long time." Tara said the excitement clear in her voice I'm sure Kristian knows but due to patient doctor confidence she's not said anything as she can't. Looks like I need to start some baby gifts."
Dwight smiled at how excited she was for her friend. "Well, I don't have much in the way of personal items, and my cottage here will remain mine. So, if you don't mind a tagalong, I'd like to beam up with you. My business here is concluded."
"Of course," Tara said getting to her feet, and walked off a short distance. Tapping her com-badge "Amandora lock onto my signal two to beam up."
Bachman had walked with her and then felt the transporter envelop him. They arrived a few moments later aboard the Amandora. Dwight looked around and gave a whistle. "Wow, nice. Never been aboard this class before." He stepped down off of the pad and to the deck. "Permission to come aboard?"
The transporter operator looked at him, then at Herculoid, then back at him. "I,uhhh, sure. Welcome aboard, Sir."
"This is Commander Green's special friend," Tara said to the operator "The commander should be on the bridge, I'll take you there or I can call her to meet you. Up to you." as they walked from the transporter room "This is a Galaxy Class, she's big and has a lot of punch when needed."
"To the Bridge then. Let's see if she can hold it together upon seeing me for the first time in her environment." Dwight said, his playful side always ready to show itself.
