Posted on Sat Jan 28th, 2023 @ 9:31pm by Rear Admiral Paul Sanderson & Commodore Cyndi Song & Lieutenant Tara Herculoid PhD & Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Lieutenant JG Marcus Resch {Meji} & Lieutenant JG Jamie T. Kirk/AKA: "Jim"

Mission: BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

ON:

"If you follow me I'll take you to the bridge as you'll need to meet the commodore and get listed aboard and set up with a com-badge," Tara commented as they headed for the lift.

Not having the slightest clue where he was going, Dwight got in step and went with her.

On the Bridge Green had just given a report to Cyndi over all the changes and what was going on during the shift. Kirk and Resch both had their stations on standby and their chairs turned halfway to face each other, and be able to look sideways with ease at the rest of the Bridge.

Paul had come onto the bridge and took the seat usually reserved for the second officer.

Cyndi had just taken the report from Ro when the lift doors opened. Turning to see who had come onto the bridge. Seeing Herculoid in civilian attire and a man she didn't know. Walking over to see what was going on.

Paul recognized Bachman as he'd met him on the surface and made a point of keeping Ro distracted.

" I apologize for being out of uniform. This is Governor Bachman," Tara said

"It's fine lieutenant, I'm Commodore Song the commanding officer. My husband is keeping Ro distracted. Go on over."

Paul had been asking questions of Ro, over near to Kirk who had seen the plan from the get-go. So, she played along and asked a few very minor questions as she knew how well Green could hear. Keeping her focused this way a few moments more would be difficult but not impossible. And, they accomplished it.

Dwight walked over going down the ramp to the lower Bridge, being as quiet as possible. Ro, chatting with Paul and Kirk, suddenly stood up straight as her nostrils flared as they took in a few huffs. Her head was on a swivel as she looked around, but not behind herself.

"Excuse me, Miss," said Dwight from behind her as he came up. "Could you direct me to the XO's quarters."

Green's face lit up as she spun around, and upon seeing Dwight she broke into a smile and latched on, hugging him in a loving embrace. She kept proper decorum, only giving him a quick peck on the lips and one on the cheek. "I thought I smelled your scent, but I thought it was just wishful thinking. Still the sneak." She giggled.

The entire Bridge crew looked on with smiles on their faces. The junior officers had never seen this side of their Number One and they enjoyed seeing it.

"Surprise," said Kirk, standing and extending a hand to the very handsome, older man. "Lieutenant Jamie Kirk, Sir. I go by Jim. Glad to finally meet you."

Dwight and Green had separated for propriety and he shook the offered hand. "Glad to meet you. And, I met THE Jim Kirk a few times in my travels. I'll tell you some time."

"I'd like that, thank you."

Green was busy giving Cyndi and Tara a pseudo-stink eye. "You two set this up?"

"The commodore had nothing to do with it," Tara said "She's not met him."

Paul walked over and offered a hand "It's good to see you again. I'm not sure if I told you but the commodore's my wife. Welcome aboard."

Shaking hands, Dwight then looked around at everyone present. "Thank you for the welcome, all of you, truly. As for you," he said, going over to Song. "A pleasure to meet the queen bee for this little hive. Green talks fondly of you. All of you," he added as he again looked around. "Paul, being the two retirees we may need to start a golf program in the holodeck." He chuckled

"I'd like that, I've not played for years," Paul said

"I adore Ro, I owe her my life, but that's a story for another time." Cyndi said "Operations log Dwight Bachman in and list him as a civilian member of the crew. Commander please see to it he gets a com-badge since I assume he'll be joining us."

"He plans to commodore," Tara said.

"He better if he knows what's good for him," quipped Green. "Marcus?"

"On it, Commander." Resch had yet to shake hands, but as Operations he needed to list all new people to the manifest. Part of the quartermaster duties.

While that was going on Green beamed like a teenager. But, as before, she kept herself under control. That's when she finally noticed that Dwight was still in his khaki Bermuda shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and sandals. "Do you own anything else, babe?" She asked with a cheeky expression. When he looked at her funny she pulled on her own clothing then chinned at him.

"Oh, yes," Dwight said. "Figured if I was starting anew, might as well include my clothing. So, I wore what I intend to throw away."

Resch stood and came over to the group. "Mister Bachman is listed as a member of the civilian crew, time and date in the log. One of my people are bringing his badge up. Nice to meet you, Dwight." He shook hands. "Marcus Resch."

"Thank you lieutenant," Cyndi said "Commander, Ro as soon as his com-badge gets up here why don't you take the rest of the day off. Paul is still command certified and can take over until Commander O'Connell is free. Get Dwight settled and give him a tour of his new home."

"Thank you, Cyndi." Green gave a nod to her even with the silly smile on her face. "Quarters first, dear?" She giggled.

"Please," Dwight responded. "I do seriously need a change of clothes."

A man in gold came onto the Bridge and over to Resch, handing over a combadge. Marcus thanked him and stepped up to Dwight, transferring the badge to his hand. "There you go, Sir. It is now official."

Dwight turned the badge over in his hand a few times as he examined it, then placed it on his shirt in the same area everyone else wore theirs. "Been a while. Except in my day it was just that, a badge, not a communicator. Technology can be amazing."

Green was trying her best but the longer they were there the more she started to fidget. The newness of it all was affecting her and she chose to not use the Force to remain stoic and calm. She was living in the moment. Enjoying true happiness for once in her life.

"They also serve as a translator to most known languages, Herculoid has a minor degree in communications and speaks several languages and can easily pick up more," Cyndi said offering Dwight her hand "Let me welcome you officially as a member of my ship and crew. Go ahead Ro and get him settled and report back for duty in the morning."

Dwight shook Song's hand with his right as Green clasped his left hand in hers. "Thank you, Commodore. I hope I can find something to do that will fit my skill set. But," he pulled his left hand up, trapped in Ro's grip as her hand came up entwined with his. "We can discuss that another time." He dropped his hand.

"Thanks, Cyndi," said Green. "I'll be back first thing. Come on, you. Time to see your new home." She practically dragged him off the Bridge as they went to the lift.

Kirk could not help herself as she watched them leave by the starboard lift. "Poor guy, he's in for a long night," she chuckled, as did several others.

Resch had to pop in. "Not a bad way to suffer exhaustion." More laughter around the Bridge.

Paul slipped his arm around Cyndi's waist "Maybe my wife needs that kind of night too. Commander Green has earned this."

"That she has," Cyndi agreed. "Okay back t business everyone. Herculoid thank you, you made Ro's day. As for you Paul, later."
