Nara after getting word from Alesha that the away team had returned headed from Alesha’s quarters where she’d been staying, changed into the first lieutenant uniform that the two of them had agreed for Narla to were in order to keep the reason she was on the Amandora from Major Hurd. Narla made her way to sick bay to surprise her daughter.

In sick bay Kristian and her people had finished hooking up the sleeper pods so she could monitor things and try to find out who they were before any attempt to wake them up. The bodies were in the morgue. One of them was Cardassian and the other was another species, one that had yet to be determined as to who they were. There were two other Cardassian’s in the sleeper pods. Kristian had the ships computer working on the markings on the rest of the sleeper pods to see if it could tell who they were. There were eight sleeper pods in all. Two with Cardassian’s and the other six were the unknown species.

Narla walked into sick bay and over to where Kristian was as she checked on one of the pods. “How did your away mission go?” Narla asked

Kristian hearing her mother’s voice spun to make sure she was not hearing things, seeing her mother who was a major general dressed the uniform of a first lieutenant burst out laughing for a few minutes. “Mum what are you doing dressed like that and why are you on the ship”

“Can you take a few minutes away? I’ll fill you in,” Narla asked

Kristian nodded, “I’m not waking them up until I get an idea who they are. The computer is running the markings and language as we speak. If the computer can’t tell who they are then I’ll turn to Tara as you know holds a minor degree in languages and communications. We can talk in my office.” Turning to one of her nurses “Maggie keep an eye on them and alert me should anything change.”

“Right away doctor,” Maggie said

After a check on the pods Kristian led the way to her office, leaving the door open so she could hear what was going on. Kristian took a seat and Narla took one across from her. "So mum why are you here?"

"How's the ankle? Your limping,"Narla asked

"I've been on it a bit, it's tender but nothing I can't handle." Krstian replied "Next time I get leave I'll see if something can be done until then I'm not going to worry about it. You know we Amazon's are tough."

"Your half Amazon don't forget. As to why I'm here, I'm here at the request of Commodore Song to promote Major Hurd to Lieutenant Colonel and Second Officer. It's a surprise thus the uniform. I wanted to stay on the marine decks where I could watch and make sure the commodore's request is worth it," Narla replied

"Your secrets safe with me, have you seen Tara yet?" Kristian asked

"Not yet, your my first stop, I'm staying with Alesha," Narla said "I know there is a new science chief so I'm giving her time to meet her new boss before I surprise her. Tell me how your away mission went and what you found. It's obvious you found sleepers."

"I don't know much about them the computer is running the markings and language to see if it's in the data base. If not I'll have Tara look at it. We found two dead, one of the dead is a Cardassian and there are two more Cardassian's in the sleeper pods. The other beings I don't know They have pale green skin and dark green and yellow hair, they have elfin pointed ears and from what I can see by looking at them they appear to be between five and six feet tall," Kristian answered "Your getting this ahead of the commodore. One of the beings appears to be royalty which will be interesting."

"For the three of you and the commodore," Narla commented

Kristian shook her head, "Rayna's your sister. Tara is the only one who has a title and you and I both know she has singed documentation on file. Tara's my cousin and Alesha whether she likes it or not is family. Come to think of it when Tara said one of the pods appeared to be royalty a comment came up that she'd know."

"That's not good," Narla remarked "Whoever made the comment could have been kidding. If I were you and Tara I'd keep that quiet."

"I plan to and hopefully Tara forgets it, I'll speak to her. Once I get the sleepers woken up why don't you and Alesha come to my quarters for supper. I'll tell Tara, it might be a day or two. Reports need to be filed and the commodore needs to be filled in," Kristian said

"I agree, I'll let you get back to your patients and I'll go see my niece," Narla said standing "And remember don't let out I'm aboard."

"I won't forget mum," Kristian replied getting to her feet and hugging her mother. "I'll be in touch."

"Take care and rest that ankle when you can," Narla said hugging her back as she headed out.
