Mission: Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Amandora and Sleeper Ship
Timeline: Current

ON:
Tara boarded the shuttle MIssissippi and took a seat at the science console, entered her codes and logged in. It was going to be a short flight but the commodore had ordered science to scan the sleeper ship before anyone boarded it.

(Runabout Mississippi)

Kalina forwarded the shuttle and notice her good friend Tara already on board. "Hey Tara." Kalina called out with a big smile on her face. Would they have a few minutes, to talk about the fact that David and Alesha we're already getting super close to each other. Kalina could see the chemistry between those two. For the moment though she decided drew me in silence on that topic, because somebody could walk to the door and even and she didn't want to be talking about people's love lives to the whole entire ship. "Getting an early start I see."

"I'm an early bird," Tara commented "Kristian, Alesha and I have already been to the gym."

Kristian nodded "That we have. We had a good workout."

David listened as the away team finished boarding. He ran a check and then turned to them with a smile.

“Lieutenant Johnson, contact the ship for our clearance to head on the mission.” He looked at the others. “Our priority is those people on the sleeper ship. We need to assess their condition and assess the navigation systems as our priority. From their we will head to engineering. Any questions?”

"Not from me. As soon as it's deemed safe for us I'll check the people," Kristian said.

"As soon as we get there I'll scan the ship to make sure the air is safe," Tara replied

"Aye sir." Kalina said, thinking to herself and he get put in charge so quickly. And what does she have to do in order to be considered for such an honor. She knew that other members of the crew had more seniority than he did. Maybe Commander Green was just trying to give everybody an opportunity, or maybe the commander saw something in David.

Kristian double checked her field kit, watched as Tara ran scans on the sleeper ship they were approaching. Kalina was a good pilot and David being the lead was good for him. Commander Green had done a good thing.
David watched as they went to work. While he waited for Kalina to gain their clearance he ran through the blueprints for the sleeper ship. It was small in relationship to the Amandora. The engineering area and navigational systems were close to one another. He would be able to check out their engines while Lieutenant Johnson looked at why they were running in circles.

"we have arrived, giving the gravitational wait I'm having to put us in an orbit around the ship. Waiting on the Lieutenant Herculiod,to give us the all clear." Kalina said as the runabout Mississippi went in a circle pattern.

"Scanning now," Tara said as she ran scans of the sleeper ship "Air is breathable, normal parameters. Your good to dock lieutenant."

“As soon as we’re docked prepare to go aboard.” David said as he gathered his equipment. “Lieutenant Johnson, we are near both engineering and navigation. Let’s find out why they are going in circles first.”

On her walk towards the Euphrates, Green heard in her earpiece that Saunders and onak would be leaving the ship immediately, with small rides being sent to pick them up. Damn it! She thought. Ro tapped her badge. "Green to Captain Barnes. Grab two of your marines and come take Euphrates out as the ready support craft for Mississippi. ASAP, if you would, Jack."
Barnes heard and responded. "On my way now, Commander. We'll load up and lift off so you can go do what is needed, Number One."

"Appreciated, Captain." Green responded. "Cosmo will be aboard to run various system tasks for you lot. Green, out." Having changed direction while speaking, Green left out the nearest exit door from the main shuttle bay.
"Yes sir, welcome to access their navigation and figure out what is going on, I probably could use some help from Lieutenant Herculiod. I have a feeling there might be a scientific reason for this because I felt some pull on our runabout." Playing outside if you look over to David.

“We will find out when we get there.” David replied. “I can think of a few issues, I am sure Lieutenant Johnson has as well.”

The away team fell silent each of them getting in the mindset for the mission ahead. David was confident in their abilities, he had read up on each of them, having barely come on board before being thrust into the mission.

It didn’t seem like very long before Lieutenant Johnson informed them they had reached the sleeper ship. David stood as did the others and soon they were preparing to leave the shuttle.

Walking off the shuttle David stopped and scanned the ship. He turned to the others. “We are heading over there, the engines and navigation are through that door.” He turned to Tara. “Inform the Amandora we are on board and proceeding .”

Tara tapped her com-badge and informed the Amandora they had reached the sleeper ship and we've boarded it.

Nira was along with the others, bringing up the rear. She had her bow and quiver and also a Starfleet phaser pistol in a tactical holster on her right thigh. She saw no need for a drawn weapon as of yet, but remained alert.
Out in space the Euphrates was remaining at station keeping to the small ship by matching course and speed exactly. Captain Barnes sat at the pilot's controls.
Kalina walked off the ship, she needed to talk to him about Alesha and see about getting them together. She knew she should be focusing on the mission. But it was hard, with that lingering over her. She followed him onto the ship, they were heading to the engineering bay.

"I wonder how long ago this ship left where ever it was it's from," Kristian commented "Or the condition of the people in the sleeper pods."
"We'll find out soon," Tara replied
David turned to Kalina. “I am taking a look at their engines.” He could hear a whine that didn’t sound good. “Let me know what you find out, I am within yelling distance if needed.”

"I will access the navigation charts." Kalina said if you walked over to a computer terminal, and smiling because the first console she went to was a navigational terminal. She began to work her magic with that computer. "Well this is odd." Kalina called out with a surprise tone.

“What did you find.” David turned from where he was starting to look at the ships engines.

"Lieutenant Herculiod, can you confirm what the sensors are telling me?" She asked if she looked over to Tara. According to the sensors the ship was taught in a micro nebula with a very strong gravity well that was forcing the ship to spend in a circle there was an unknown object on the whole of the ship that was proportion to ship to twirl.

Tara walked over and looked at the sensors “Nebula’s even micro ones cause havic with equipment, that would explain why it’s going in circles.”

David was looking at the engines. “I am still working out my assessment. Give me one minute.” He did some adjustments for a few moments and straightened up, walking towards them. “I can’t fix them. My estimation is they will fail within the next eight hours.”

"Is there any way to reverse the effects of the anomaly that's affecting this little micro nebula?" Kalina asked if you like to her dear friend Tara for an answer.

Tara shook her head “Not in the amount of time we’d need. We’d need an engineer and a few hours more than the ship has.”

David stood waiting for Tara to answer. “I’m going to contact the ship and speak with the captain on a suggestion for our next move.”

“David your right the engines won’t last long enough for repairs,” Tara said

"Do you think we can rip the panel off that's holding it or is too much of the ship being attached to it?" Kalina ask if she looked over to David, she wasn't an x-ray at all but if they can't remove it. Maybe they can just remove the panel.

"I would remove the panel only." David said after he took a look. "There looks to be Integral parts of the ship attached."

"DAMN." Kalina said, not really sure what they should do next. Luckily she did not have to decide, that was David's call.

“I spoke with Comodore Song.” David said. “Nira she would like you to quickly sweep the sleeper. We don’t want anyone left on board. The ship will fail in a little under eight hours.”

David looked at the others. “We need to go assess the sleepers and beam and beam any survivors, along with the doctor back to the Amandora. Any questions?”

"That was my next suggestion," Kristian replied "They'll need to be off this ship and into sick bay. "

Tara looked at a set of doors that were closed, pulling her tri-coder she scanned the area beyond the door "Kristian if my scans are right the sleeper pods are back there. I'm picking up about 6 of them."

“Let’s proceed.” David ordered. They went through the doorway and into the room where they found chambers in front of them. David looked to his left and it was apparent that the first two had failed. The occupants were deceased.

Kristian pulled out her tri-coder and scanned the sleeper pods, There were six, a scan showed two of the pods had failed and the people in them were dead. The other four were still functioning. "David two are dead, the other four are still working and the people in them are still alive."

Tara continued to scan the sleeper ship, she stopped at another door "Kristian, David there's two more pods in there. Why they're separated I don't know. There appears to be some kind of Royal Seal. Whoever is back there must be someone of great importance."

“You’re the expert in this it seems.” David replied. “I am going to download their data to take back with us in case the captain should want it.”

"Who on our away team has the technical skills for opening a locking mechanisms?" Kalina asked knowing it was not her.

“That would be me.” David replied as he walked up. “What do you need?”

"Access to the other pods. Navigation is tied into all the pods." Kalina said, she was a bit puzzled, she couldn't understand why the navigation system will be tied into the pods. Had to be some kind of safety measure measure to ensure that the crew were not removed from the ship without being woken up first. But to what end, she wondered?

“What do you suggest?” David asked Kalina. He was certain she was going to suggest taking the sleepers without the pods. They would do what they had to.

"Getting that door open sir." Kalina said, restating what you just previously said. She wanted to disengage and navigation system so they can unplug from the network and rescue the people in the pods. In order to do that, she needed to know how they were doing it and had to disconnect it safely. She knew that David's expertise would definitely be needed here.

“I have the tools.” David nodded. He reached into his bag and found what he wanted. “This won’t take but a minute.” He said as he knelt down and went to work. A few moments later and the door slid open.

"You’re a good man." Kalina said to him and she'd look over to the garage and nudged him, she thinks she can still stand a chance even though Alicia has a head start with the flirting that happened earlier. Nothing was sent in stone at this point. Kalina was going to help Tara if she could.

David smiled at her words, where did that come from? Was she hitting on him? He decided to go with a tactful answer. “Thanks, just doing the job I was trained for.” He walked into the room. “Let’s check this out.”

Kristain followed David and Kalina into the room now that David had unlocked it and walked over to scan the sleeper pods that were in there. The occupants like the ones in the main area were sleeping peacefully "Kalina I know you said the pods on this sleeper ship were tied into the navigation. I've never seen this species before and I don't know what it will do to them to wake them here. Is there a way you and David can come up with to transport all the pods to the Amandora where I can wake them up there? The writings on the pods I have never seen.”

"I'm not an engineer, but in theory it might be possible. The only person I know for sure would be that guy over there." Kalina said as she looked to David, she was pointing him out for Kristian.

“It can be done.” David replied. “It will take a little reprogramming on my part for the computer.” He looked at them. “We need to get Nira back and on the shuttle asking with you, Lieutenant Johnson. The moment they are released the Amandora will need to beam you and the sleepers to sickbay. I am not certain what precautions this ship will have if we tamper with them.”

"So can we do this safely?" Kalina asked as she looked at David. She wanted to make sure Kristian's question was answered.

“Yes.” David nodded. The tricky part is on me. Once they beam over I have to get onto the shuttle quickly. If you have any indication the ship is going to self destruct leave and I’ll call for a beam out.”

"Why don't we have the Amandora lock transporters on us that way once Kristian and the sleeper's beam over if this ship is going to self destruct we'll be already in a transporter lock," Tara suggested

"you want to suggest to the Commodore to put the ship close to danger?" Kalina asked, her job practically dropped down. Why would anyone suggest putting their shift into that much danger it's better to risk a small shuttle than it would be to bring in a entire Galaxy class starship. She was new to the crew into the ships compliment maybe this is the way they handle things here a little cowboy space diplomacy, and some cowboy ingenuity maybe this was a real West.

Tara shook her head "I never said put the ship closer. I suggested they get a transporter lock on us. Never mind my suggestion. Perhaps the ship's transporter cannot reach this far."

"The micro nebula is affecting us that's why we came by shuttle." Kalina pointed out to her.

"Think there is a danger to Kristian and the sleeper pods beaming over to the Amandora?" Tara asked

"I don't think there's a danger to our people I think it's a danger to them, for some reason there's synaptic pathways are connected to the program probably to prevent them from attempting what we're trying to do take them from the ship." Kalina suggested to them. She was no engineer but she knew enough to know that pulling somebody from a system when they're tied into it was not a good idea, they needed to separate them from the ship.

“We need to find a way to disconnect them from the ship.” David replied. “I suggest trying to divert their connection from the computer to one of our terminals. Have it beamed over. Then we can beam them, the doctor over there.”

"Most ships have auxiliary power, if this one has it, it's possible it has a limited battery back up that will work long enough to beam the doctor and sleeper pods to the Amandora. My cadet cruise was on a small ship that had a battery back up," Tara
commented "I'm just saying it might be worth looking into."

"Whatever courses action we decide to take, we need to make it fast." Kalina reminded everybody in the room.

Kristian walked over to another of the sleeper pods and scanned it. The occupant was sleeping peacefully. There were writings on it that she didn't know but once on the Amandora there were ways to translate it. One being Tara who carried a minor degree in languages the other being the ship's computer.

Kalina looked to David, "do you think you'll be able to disconnect it in time?" She asked, knowing they're in a race against the clock.

Barnes and Nira stood close to one another, letting the science types muck everything up. First rule of Security; don't touch anything! But, scientists were above reproach since all their knowledge was based on conjecture and guessing. "Looks like we'll be going home soon."

Nira gave a nod even as she watched what went on around her. "Zis is not goot. We know nothing, yet we take. Bad joojoo, I fear."

Jack gave a chuckle and grin as he patted the side of his rifle. "Bad joojoo better stay clear, or I'll turn it into kitty litter."

One of Nira's long, tapering eyebrows gave a version of raising. "Kitty litter?"

"Yes." Answered Barnes, grinning again as he realized his litter comment had been said to someone unfamiliar with what it was. "Back in history Humans used a pulverized, clumping soil-type substance for their feline pets to defecate and urinate in. It was unseemly, and at times, nasty, but it worked. So, my analogy was that anything 'bad joojoo' will get pulverized should it cross my path with bad intentions."

"You speak of cats?" Asked Nira. "I like cats."

JJ smiled. "I do too."

Nira gave a crooked grin, her eyes showing some mirth behind them. "So, you are saying dat the joojoo is full of shit?"

Barnes gave a light laugh. "Not what I meant, but; yeah, sure."

"I tease," said Nira, giggling. The entire time they were speaking her extra sensory abilities were working as diligently as always while in unfamiliar territory.

David went to work and after a bit of work, turned to the others. “It is disconnected.” He paused. “If it weren’t to save their saves I wouldn’t have done this.” He believed in the rules but these people would perish without their help because of faulty equipment and he suspected it was more than that.

"let's get the crew off this ship, before we run out of time." Kalina suggested to David who is still in charge of the mission.

“Agreed.” David said with a nod. He pressed and called for the sleeper and the doctor to be beamed back to the ship. Once they were gone he looked to the others. “Let’s head to the shuttle and get out of here.”

David led the way to the shuttle and called for everyone left to board so they could leave before the ship self destructed.

Tara watched as the sleeper pods and Kristian were beamed off and followed David to the shuttle, she'd run a few scans on the sleeper ship. Boarding the shuttle she took a seat at science, brought the systems online for the flight back to the Amandora

The flight back to the ship was smooth despite the micro nebulas the area. Once the shuttle landed each went on his or her way to file reports.
