175 " The Pupil and his Teacher "

GARMEN

The warp shuttle Garmen left the USS Agamenon at 0700 hours and slowly warped it appointed trajectory toward the Amandora's beacon signal.

Accompanied by techs from engineering and science Sabbath was not alone on this journey to his new post.

It was not often an officer received an invitation out of the blue from a former professor but when that professor was an Admiral one took notice.

" Shuttle craft Garmen to USS Amandora please respond," a nervous helmsman hailed.

"Commodore we're getting a hail from a shuttle craft, the Garmen," communications announced

"On screen," Cyndi ordered standing

"Your on sir," communications responded

"Shuttle craft Garmen, this is Commodore Song commanding officer."

[ Commodore Star fleet has dispatched a shuttle with your new science officer and 3 other crew. Unable to find your exact GPS coordinates.] the pilot replied

With Herculoid off the ship as well as the pilot Cyndi walked over to the science console and set the shuttle the coordinates of the Amandora "Shuttle Garmen, coordinates sent."

[ Confirmed please prepare for our arrival. GARMEN out.]

Sabbath did not get butterflies but his mind did shift to his days at the Academy and then back. It would be good to seen Paul Sanderson again.

AMANDORA

The shuttle docked and all exited with Sabbath being last to do so. A Galaxy class vessel was a very noble vessel in its day. He was honored to be accepting this position.

The deck officer walked over to Sabbath "Commodore Song is on the bridge. She'll get your quarter assignment when you meet her."

" Acknowledged. I will sit over there." Sabbath replied eyeing a bench of sorts.

Puzzled the deck officer contacted the bridge requesting the commodore come to shuttle bay one to greet a recent transfer officer.

Cyndi acknowledged the request and headed for the shuttle bay. Walking in the deck officer pointed to Sabbath. Thanking him Cyndi walked over to where he sat "I'm commodore Cyndi Song the commanding officer, welcome aboard. I'm surprised you wanted to meet me in here. Shall we head to my ready room?"

" Forgive me Commodore. It was a miscommunication. I was waiting on the room assignment. It will not happen again. I am Lieutenant Sabbath."

Cyndi shook her head, "It's not a problem, come with me and I'll get your quarter assignment and then get you entered active and aboard," Cyndi led the way to the bridge and then over to her ready room.

" My coming here was by request. Admiral Paul Sanderson was a teacher of mine at the academy. Warp theory. Is he aboard?"

"He is," Cyndi said tapping her com-badge "Paul please report t to my ready room. Someone would like to see you."

"I'll be right there," Paul responded, a few minutes later Paul walked into Cyndi's ready room "Sabbath good to see you, I see you've already met my wife."

" Admiral it is agreeable to serve here. Your class on warp theories and slip stream was very useful during my service on the Falcon 2. I am most curious to discuss this with you but Commodore please fill free to include an update on your current mission." Sabbath replied.

"I read Paul's theory," Cyndi commented "As for our current mission, I have an away team over on a sleeper ship that was drifting erratically. With the departure of the science chief I assigned the assistant chief to go over. The away team has taken a shuttle over. I'm waiting for a report back on things. That's currently where things stand."

"Sabbath I've retired now for my own reasons. I'm here to spend time with Cyndi and if she needs advice to offer it. This is her ship and command and I won't interfere unless I'm asked," Paul said

" Commodore I will report to the bridge and await data. Did you launch a science probe or enlist a retrievable drone?" Sabbath acknowledged Paul's intention to address the Commodores commands.


A probe was launched, and the away team is over on the sleeper ship now," Cyndi replied "That's all the information I have at the moment. I'm sure you must be tired from the trip out here. Why don't you find your quarters and get settled." Cyndi handed him his quarter assignment. "When the away team gets back you can meet your assistant, Lieutenant Tara Herculoid."

" Very well since you deem that of relevance. Commodore thank you for accepting me aboard. Admiral I look forward to seeing you again." Sabbath replied.

"I'm glad to have you aboard. A student of Paul's a something I didn't think I'd have the chance to meet. Now I get to see what kind of teacher he was." Cyndi teased

"Cyndi doesn't deem it relevance, she just figured you'd want to get settled before starting work," Paul commented

" Agreed. The Professor was stern but fair. Warp and temporal mechanics is not easily taught, nor understood. I have considered taking a similar path in science once my career reaches its pinnacle. My goals are simple. Once I have made Chief of Science on a starship I plan to return to the academy.

"Lieutenant you are chief of science on a star ship," Paul replied

" And when I have accomplished and mastered this role I will make my move back to the Academy. My marriage to T'Fahn is a demanding path. She will be joining me once I am.settled in."

"Demanding in what way?" Paul asked

"I can preform weddings, I don't know the Vulcan customs but I can do a wedding," Cyndi said "Will T'Fahn be joining you on the ship?"

" That is the goal. She is on Earth currently exploring a cave in Peru. We were raised in the area and betrothed but our paths separated due to our career choices. "

Paul nodded as he looked at Cyndi "I totally understand that one. Cyndi and I had to endure a long distance relationship for a few years."

"When she joins you let me know," Cyndi said

" When she arrives you will definitely know." Sabbath replied.

"I look forward to meeting her," Cyndi said
