Mission:
Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Holodecks
Timeline: current
ON:
After the meeting with the Commodore, Green made her way through the ship, tapping her badge and asking the computer for the location of Chief Nira. The computer directed her query to holodeck four. Making her way there Rogue stepped to the panel and input the Number One override to access the program while it was running. The door opened and her eyes were met with a dark, dense jungle environment at night, with a plethora of animal life and plants aglow with bioluminescence. She stepped within the jungle, the door closing behind her and Green now found herself within the jungle, with no idea which way her friend could possibly be. Closing her eyes and calling upon the Core, Rogue reached out with her Sense. All the plants and animals were holographic, therefore their own biosignatures would not be recognized within the Core, unless they began to attack her. At that point the Core would alert her to danger and aid her body in compensating for battle. Thankfully, that was not the case.
There. The Core honed in on not only Nira, but her daughter Sera, as well. It was obvious that Nira was still teaching her daughter everything she would need to know to survive on her own homeworld of Puaza. Or any other atypical jungle and wilderness environment. Moving forward with care and caution, so as not to disturb the lessons, Ro had all her senses on high, up to and including those enhanced by the Core. Sensors on full, she thought to herself in humor. After walking for a good fifteen minutes in a slight crouch, head on a swivel, Green came to a clearing with fallen trees and a natural canopy from the boughs and branches criss-crossing like the latticework for a roof. Over that were smaller branches, which had been covered by moss and then the moss had been covered by brush and large leaves from the surrounding fauna. beneath all that was a natural incline, and the makeshift hut/cave was perfect for shelter from the elements and defensible against most predators. Within that hut could be seen the glow of a fire, the crackling wood popping and hissing sporadically. Sensing that she could face an attack Ro crouched even further, each footstep lifted carefully and set down softly, slowing her pace and keeping her head up.
"Rawr!" A growling cry came from Ro's right, and looking that way she saw a Puazi teenager come flying through the air at her, no weapons in hand and a smile on the face despite the pseudo-attack. The younger Puazi landed a meter from Green, eyes wide with surprise and love. "Auntie!" Sera cried out and ran in, arms outstretched for a hug. Green opened herself to the embrace and caught the young Puazi in her arms, squeezing her with love and warmth. The girl backed off enough to just hold hands together as they faced each other.
"Seraasha!" Said Green. "Every time I see you I think you've grown a bit taller." She giggled and smiled, unable to hold it back. To her left Ro noticed Nira come out of the hut and ascend to their level of turf.
"I grow big and strong," said Sera. "Why you here? Mama did not say you would be joining us." Sera was wearing the traditional weapons of the Puazi. Two curved daggers, a curved sword/saber, and a bow and quiver. All of them were made from an alloy created on Puaza, and native only to that world, infused with Eldritch magick and rumored to be unbreakable.
Nira approached, dressed in her old bikini style garments like her daughter was, decorated with all the appropriate Starfleet regalia, and sporting all her daggers, the sword, and her bow and quiver. Releasing Sera's hands, Rogue turned to face her dearest friend, and clasped her hands. As the hands came together Nira leaned in, as did Ro, and they touched their foreheads together as a sign of love and respect. Once that greeting was finished then they hugged and their stance went back to casual. "To answer query, dotter," said Nira. "Ro was busy and I not invite."
"Yes," Ro added. "Now, we're going to be even busier. I need you, sister. We have a gap in the ranks and it needs to be filled."
"I am ready," Nira said without hesitation. "Where can I serve best?"
"Me too," added Sera. "I want to help."
Green smiled at the exuberant youngling. "Your mother can decide how best you can aid us. But," she looked to Nira. "With the departure of our last Security Chief, who held Security together quite well, we need to make sure the department is ran at that level once more. You know the ship, sister, and are the one Security officer with time in rate. As a Chief Warrant Officer, you are eligible for supervisor. We need you as chief, Chief."
"Consider to be done." Answered Nira, which caused both Ro and Sera to grin. After all the time aboard, Nira still spoke in broken Federation Standard (English). It was a ruse, of course, and Green well knew that. Even though her accent and trilled R's sounded like a mingling of Spanish and Eastern European when she spoke English, the Puazi woman still chose to speak in broken sentences on occasion. Ro could only figure that it made others think of her as a simpleton, someone from a lesser advanced species and therefore not considered threatening. This, of course, was why Nira did it. Like a trapdoor spider Nira could strike both quick and deadly, ending a threat within moments.
"Thank you, Nira. If you choose to allow Sera to partake, I need records of her phaser training. Her traditional weapons are fine, no doubts there." Green's eyes went back and forth between them. "Sera, this is not a game. If you choose to work under your mother then you will obey orders, like any other civilian aboard this ship. When officers give you orders, you listen and obey. Understood?"
"Yes, Commander." Sera gave a nod of understanding, with all smiles gone. Her eyes showed she understood and was serious about wanting to help.
"Computer," Nira said. "End program." The jungle around them faded out to show the grid-square black and yellow of an empty holodeck. She then looked at Green. "I will get to Security and begin. I take it they will get a memo before my arrival?"
"I already sent the daily to Security. They know you're coming, and why."
"Goot." Nira looked to her Daughter. "Sera, we go. Come." The two Puazi headed for the exit, with mother instructing daughter as to what she expected from her progeny. Green grinned to herself and followed behind them, with the pair going one way and Number One the other.
