Mission:
Aftermath
Location: Star Base Danvers and Planet Klavor
Timeline: Current
ON:
Cyndi walked into the shuttle bay and over to her shuttle, she’d changed from her uniform and into a Jean Skirt and a Black, Lacy Tank Top. She’d removed the ponytail, and let her hair hang free. Keying in the access codes on the shuttle she disarmed the alarms, boarded the shuttle, removed her phaser and placed it on the passenger seat. Paul had left word that there was something important he needed to do. Taking a seat Cyndi ran through the check list, fired the engines on the shuttle, lifted off, maneuvered it around so the nose was pointing out of the bay.
Cyndi eased the shuttle forward taking care to scan the space around the station, not seeing any traffic which she knew there would be none and headed into space. Once clear of the station Cyndi engaged the thrusters keeping it slow until she cleared the solar system. Once clear Cyndi engaged the warp drive and the shuttle jumped to warp. The trip to Klavor would take eighteen hours. Setting the shuttle on auto-pilot, the course plotted for Klavor.
Cyndi leaned back in her seat as her shuttle sped toward Klavor, free of the responsibility of command until the new ship arrived Cyndi let the tears flow, Green’s lover and kids dead, Nira dead, The Amandora destroyed, lives lost on the station and countless civilians on both the station and the planet had taken a toll on her usual tough resolve had melted. The pent up agony caused Cyndi to break down and cry.
Eighteen hours later the alarm beeped waking her up as the shuttle was close to the Solar System where Klavor was located. Sighing Cyndi took control of the shuttle dropped it from warp as she entered the system. Tapping come commands “Klavor Space Central this is the Princess request permission to approach and land,”
Cyndi’s mother Tasha had been in the control center when the call came in “Looking at the man “Tell her permission granted and have her report to me the second she lands, have someone tend her shuttle,”
“Understood your majesty,” the man said as responded to Cyndi’s call “Princess welcome home, your mother wishes to see you, I’ll have someone tend your shuttle.”
Cyndi acknowledged the response and proceeded to land her shuttle. Once on the ground Cyndi shut the shuttle down, grabbed her phaser, walked to the rear of the shuttle and checked her appearance, grabbing some wet wipes she cleaned up her face as it was tear stained, satisfied that she’d pass Cyndi dropped the ramp and stepped off the shuttle.
“Princess welcome home, I’ll see to your shuttle, your mother is in the garden and wants to see you the minute you land.”
“Thank you Jasper,” Cyndi said as she headed for the Palace Garden,
Tasha seeing Cyndi walk into the garden got up and walked over to her daughter and hugged her “I heard about your ship, how are you holding up and where is Paul?”
“Mum,” Cyndi said and brushed away some tears “It’s my fault, it was my ship and my responsibility, as for Paul, I don’t know what is going on. All he told me was he can’t discuss it with me something to do with orders and if he can make it here he will.”
“We’ll talk, right now I’m telling you to get some sleep, you look like hell.” Tasha said as she signaled to someone behind Cyndi “Your rooms are ready I want you to go get some rest.”
“I have my house mum,: Cyndi said as the doctor walked over to her
“And I have my orders from your mother,” the doctor said as he pressed a hypo-spray to Cyndi’s neck “I suggest Princess you get upstairs. That drug will take effect in ten minutes.”
Cyndi nodded and made her way into the Palace and up to her old bedroom, where she collapsed on her bed and was soon asleep.
