ON:
“Commodore the starbase is just coming into sensor range now,”
“Helm take us out of warp, communications let them know we’ve arrived and will be docking,” Cyndi ordered
“Slowing to impulse,” helm responded as the starbase became visible on the view screen
“Starbase Mercury says welcome and we’re cleared to dock in docking ring one,” Communications informed her
“Helm take us in,” Cyndi ordered
“Aye commodore, taking us in,” helm answered as the pilot maneuvered the Amandora into the docking ring. A slight jolt as the ship settled into the docking ring a few minutes later.
“Secure all moorings,” Cyndi ordered “Communications hail the base I’d like to speak to the captain,”
“Standby sir,” communications said, after several minutes “Your on commodore, Captain Leaf,”
“On screen,” Cyndi said as the image of a woman came up “Captain Leaf I’ Commodore Song,”
“Commodore I’m Captain Helen Leave welcome, I’m glad you and your ship are here, I need all the help I can get getting this new base up and running.”
“My officers have been briefed and are more than eager to assist you,” Cyndi said “We’re going standard shift rotations and I suggest you do the same so our teams will not get overly tired.”
“I can’t agree more, I’m operating with a skeleton crew as it is and I’m awaiting more officers and crew in the next few weeks,” Helen replied
“My people will begin arriving soon. I’m sending over a listing of my officers who will be helping so you’ll know who your getting,” Cyndi said
“Thank you sir,” Helen answered “I look forward to meeting you,”
“Likewise,” Cyndi replied as she signaled for communications to be cut. “Communications let the crew know we’ve arrived and they all have their assignments. They can begin to report to the base as soon as they’re ready.”
“Understood commodore,” Communications responded as she carried out Cyndi’s orders.
