Will came home staggering from all the whiskey he had drunk. Noticing the uneaten sundae Amethyst had not finished.

The baby asleep and Kal too Will thanked Christina and laid on the small sofa.

Life was great but why was he so moody and upset. He had made second contact with a new race. Trained some fine bew crew on the starbase. Why did he now have an empty void?

Tomorrow he decided would be a great time to talk to the counselor? Or could he given she was his hand fast wife?

Nuzzling into their bed Will lay beside his Imzadi hopeful she would not stir.

Amethyst was only in a light sleep, feeling Will’s body beside her she gently turned over to face him and instantly got hit with the smell of alcohol. “Computer ... lights, low.” As the room illuminated she propped herself up on one elbow and looked at him. “Have you been drinking?”,

" Only three...four little glasses. We were celebrating the universe and cookies. Saunders had cookies.I'm sorry I will go sleep on the couch." Will replied.

“No, it’s okay” Amethyst have her husband a concerned look. “Will is everything okay? I’ve never known you to feel so ... empty.” She had felt his sense of emptiness through their bond,

" It was just a few drinks with my new buddy...I swear...she meant nothing to me." Will blurted.

“She?” Amethyst looked at her husband concerned. “What is going on Will?”

Will's mind whizzed in and out as his emotions did too. One moment he was Will the next someone she had never met . But the image of the blond female was very real. But what was worse was the blood stains on his hands.

Amethyst gasped she’d never felt this from Will before, “Will please talk to me! What’s going on!?”

" I am fine."

“No you’re not!” Amethyst gently reached out and rested her hand on his cheek. “You’re not yourself Will, I can feel it, Are you ill?”

" I need a drink....water, I need water." Will replied. Sweat dripping from his face. " My neck hurts too." he added as he rubbed where the blood was.

Amethyst looked at Will’s hand. “Is that blood?!” She sat up. “Computer lights up full.”

On Will's right side a small hole oozed blood.

" Am I dying?" Will teared up to say.

Amethyst took a look. “No you’re not dying but it looks like you’ve been bitten by something. We need to see the doctor, can you walk?”

" Baby I could boogie woogie...." Will started to say but then began to vomit all the alcohol back out.

" On second thought I need to see the Doctor."

Krisitan had been sleeping when she got word that her presence was needed in the commander's quarters, after getting dressed Long grabbed her field kit and a few other things and headed for the commander's quarters. Once there she chimed the door and waited for permission to enter

With the mess cleaned up Amethyst headed for the door to let Kristian in. “Thank you for coming Doctor” she smiled warmly. “It’s Will, he’s been bitten by something ... at least it looks like a bite. He’s been acting strange and he’s also drunk!”

" I not so think as you drunk I am Doctor," Will tried to joke. His wound bleeding more as the culprit was still inside of his neck.

Kristian pulled out her medical tri-coder and scanned him "What the frell is this?" she commented "Commander what has bitten you, what ever it is it's still in there," opening her bag she removed a large vial and a pair of long nosed tweezers."

“I’m not the squeamish type but I’m not watching that!” Amethyst turned her back while Kristian did her work.

Kristian carefully probed into the wound on the commander's neck and finally removed the tick, dropping it into the vial and capping it Kristian placed it in her bag and cleaned the wound, gave him a hypo with a strong antibiotic and closed the wound," How the frell did you get bitten by that thing? Counselor it's okay now. I can give him something to sober him up or I can let him suffer. Your choices."

Will grinned and slobbered.

" I love you Imzadi,"

Amethyst sighed and looked at Kristian. “Please sober him up before I practice my self defense and flatten him!” She shook her head and went to check on their children.

" Tie me kangarooo down sport...tie me kangaroo down," Will began to sing.

"Normally I'd give you a sobriety pill but considering how drunk you are, you get a shot," Kristian said as she picked up her hypo-spray and loaded it with a sobriety injection and pressed it against his neck "You should feel the effect in a couple of minutes."


Will flinched held his head and then said nothing as the insanity of his day rewinded in his mind.

He remembered the Gleniq, the base, a blond in the elevator he kissed for no reason. Wanting to fight Hurd, and all the in between. But worse of all losing control.

" Thank you...Doctor. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This is so stupid. What bit me again?" Will replied .

Kristian shook her head, "It's no problem that's what doctors do, as far as what bit you it was some form of space tick. I'm going to take it to Lieutenant Herculoid so she can look it over. As for you being drunk I'm not going to tell the Commodore....this time. I do have to file a report with my boss and if he chooses to tell her then it's up to him. But you do it again I will have to report it to Commodore Song. There is nothing wrong with having a few drinks, as long as you don't overdo it."

" I am not a drinker Doctor Long. Check my liver enzymes if you don't believe me. That tick has messed me all up. What if there are more?" Will replied.

“What I want to know is how you got that thing in the first place!” Amethyst stood hands on hips looking pretty concerned and annoyed.

" I was on patrol and met with a new species called the Gleniq. They must have some how given me one off of them. They are feline humanoid cat like creatures. Nasty shabby looking creatures but they're real friendly. When Purrshur, the under lord hugged me I bet that's when I got it. See here's the fur." Will replied.

"It probably came from them, but the antibiotic I gave you should eliminate any that could still be in your system," Kristian said

" I have never liked Doctors but you are my new best friend ." Will replied.

"Thank you commander," Kristian said "I want to see you in sick bay in a few days, but for the most part your fine."

" Good I have a lot of work to do tomorrow. And sleep now." Will replied.

Kristian packed up her field kit and got to her feet "Get some sleep and I'll see you in a few days,"

Will then looked to Amethyst for more confirmation.

" Oh my God, what happened at the holodeck?"
