Post Number 64 Surprise Is Afoot

ON:
Cyndi to saw was upset over the events on the ship was an understatement. She’d sent a message to Major General Long asking her opinion on promoting Captain Hurd to second officer but had not heard back. Cyndi just figured that the general was busy and with her daughter assigned to the ship Cyndi knew she could always ask Kristian but she didn’t want to cross that line. Cyndi rubbed her eyes as she’d been looking at the computer screen working on reports. Getting up from her desk Cyndi walked to the window in her office and looked over at the space station that the ship was in dock at.
“Commodore I’m sorry to disturb you,” communications called “But there’s a General Long and her pilot First Lieutenant Rivers requesting permission to land.”
Tapping her com-badge “Inform shuttle bay three to prepare to receive the general’s shuttle, inform Doctor Long that she’s to report to shuttle bay three as well,” Cyndi said “I want to keep the general’s arrival a secret, see to it VIP quarters are set up for the general and her pilot.”
“Understood sir,” communications acknowledged
Kristian confused over the order from the commodore to report to the shuttle bay, set the PADD she’d been working on and headed for the shuttle bay. Walking in a few minutes later, “Commodore?”
“There’s someone coming I think you’d like to see,” Cyndi said turning to the shuttle bay operator “Open bay doors,”
Cyndi and Kristian stepped back as the shuttle bay’s door opened and it depressurized to allow the craft to land, instead of a shuttle it was a fighter that touched down and the bay re-pressurized. The markings on the it were Amazon.
“I don’t understand, who is aboard that?” Kristian asked as the ramp dropped and Narla stepped out “MUM!” Kristian exclaimed as she forgot all protocol and ran to her mother and hugged her “What are you doing here? Not that I’m glad to see you.”
“You have your commanding officer to blame,” Narla said placing her arm around her daughter’s waist “There is another surprise for you too.”
“Dad along?” Kristian asked
“No but I am,” Alesha said walking over and standing next to Narla “Commodore, my orders,”
“Orders?” Cyndi said as she took them from Alesha, read them and then looked at Alesha “Welcome aboard, lieutenant,”
“Thank you sir,” Alesha said
“I have VIP quarters arranged for both of you as I haven’t told Captain Hurd anything and First Lieutenant Porter is away he’s the one in charge of the fighters. So for now just relax and enjoy the ship,” Cyndi said turning to Kristian “Please show them the VIP quarters and keep this quiet, all will be explained soon.”
“Understood, but that fighter is Amazon and you’re not going to be able to explain it away,” Kristian replied
“I’ll move it,” Alesha said as she sprinted for her fighter, boarded it and maneuvered it over into a dark corner of the shuttle bay, shut it down and engaged the cloak and then returned to everyone else “I know it can’t stay cloaked but for now?”
“I think it’s best lieutenant,” Cyndi said “I’ll make sure my people keep your arrival quiet,”
“Thank you commodore,” Narla said picking up her bag and followed her daughter from the shuttle bay along with Alesha. “We’ll change into civvies and meet you later for dinner, make sure Tara is along.”
“I will mum,” Kristian said as they made their way to the VIP quarters.
