Tapping his Comm "Commodore Song this is Lieutenant McTavish could I have a word with you at your convenience" James asked.

Cyndi tapped her com-badge "I'm in my ready room head on up."

"Thank you, I'll be there shortly....McTavish out" James quickly made his way to the Bridge.

[Bridge}

When the lift doors opened he found his way to the Commodore's ready room and pushed the door chime and waited for a response.

"Come in!" Cyndi called setting aside the PADD's she'd been working on glad for the interruption.

When the door slid open James walked up to the Commodore's desk and snapped to attention "Lieutenant James McTavish, thank you for seeing me Ma'am." he said trying not to show his nervousness.

"Relax I don't bite," Cyndi said "Please have a seat and welcome aboard. How was your trip out here?"

James sat down looking at the Commodore" Thank you Ma'am I'm happy to be here. The trip was fine; the Dunkirk found you without any problems."

"Your file says your married, is your wife along?" Cyndi asked "Lieutenant Herculoid stepped aside as science chief at my request as your qualifications out weigh hers. Don't get me wrong she's an accomplished scientist and she like me has earned her doctorate in science."

"No, she stayed behind on the Dunkirk to finish up a Biology project for the brass at Starfleet. Once Heather is finished with the research then she'll join me here on the Amandora. Hopefully by the time our current mission is over she'll be ready. Heather will be coming aboard as a Biologist; of course you probably already know that. Actually I can't wait for her to arrive; this is the first time that we have been parted since we started dating three and a half years ago on the Dunkirk and I'm lost without her." James replied trying to be void of emotions. "I'm sure the Lieutenant and I will get along just fine."

"I can relate to missing your spouse, my husband and son are on my home planet," Cyndi commented "I know you and Herculoid will get along well, she's pretty easy going. She's in the lab as we speak. I can't wait to meet your wife."

"Thank you and I'm sure Heather would like to meet you also, which she will do once aboard. There is a protocol question that I have then I will get out of your hair. I know this varies by Ship and is up to the discretion of the C.O. but during a Red Alert Situation do you want me at the Science Stations." James inquired so that he would be in the right place at the right time.

"I would prefer you on the bridge during red alerts. And your not bothering me your actually a welcome relief from mounds of paperwork," Cyndi commented "I really should call home and check in with my husband. But it's the middle of the night there currently."

"As you wish Commodore, I will check out the Science Stations to make sure I'm well familiar with their function. I'm sure your family would love to hear from you anytime. That's all that I have. It's been a pleasure to meet you Commodore and I am looking forward to working under your command" James responded being very sincere.

"If you have any problems speak with Lieutenant Herculoid she's aboard she didn't go with the away team. She should be on the bridge" Cyndi replied "It's been a pleasure meeting you as well." Cyndi got to her feet "Take a day or two to get settled, get used to the ship and where things are and meet your assistant. Your free to go if we're finished."

James stood as well "Thank you Commodore, yes I believe we're finished. I will be sure to meet with Lieutenant Herculoid soon and thank you for your time." James answered.

He turned and made his way out of the Ready Room and walked over to the Science Stations for a closer look at his new Panels. Happily they were not that much different than what he was used to previously so the transition should be an easy one to make.

Since no one came over to him, James figured that Lieutenant Herculoid was not on the Bridge; "That's fine I'll meet her another time but soon" he thought.

James exited the Bridge into the Lift "Deck 5" he instructed and with in moments he was back to their new home.
