After leaving the Savai system several things had gone down as the Amandora made it's way to its next port of call.

With several crew changes in numerous departments open it was pertinent for Commodore Song to make some crew assignment adjustments.

One such was for Ltjg Odac Yova, the Bajoran engineering officer who answered the summons to arrive to her ready room.

" You wish to see me Commodore? Lieutenant junior grade Odac Yova reporting as ordered." he greeted.

"Have a seat lieutenant," Cyndi said "I have something I need to discuss with you, if you feel your ready."

" Ma'am is this about the transfer request I gave the Chief? I resended it the next day." Yova replied.

"No, it's not about the transfer request, though had that gone through we'd be discussing it. This is because the chief engineer has been transferred off. I'm offering you the chance to step into that role or even take on assistant chief. What do you think?" Cyndi asked

" Of the Amandora? By the Prophets...I would be honored to step up Commodore. That was my problem with the Chief he .... I thought for sure I was being sent off too. Thank you Commodore." Yova added.

"Then consider yourself either chief engineer or assistant," Cyndi said.

Yova smiled and slightly bowed
" I will not let you down Commodore. The Amandora is my baby. That's why I told the Chief I changed my mind. What are your orders ma'am?" he added.

"I know you won't, as for orders, Lieutenant Saunders ran a tight shift down there as you know. Check in and see what is going on and make sure all systems are ready. I never know what I'm getting us into," Cyndi replied.

" Consider it done. Commodore I will take the Assistant Chief role for now. I want to earn that Chief's slot," Yova replied.

Cyndi nodded "Fair enough."

" May the Prophets bless your command Commodore. " Yova replied.

"Thank you lieutenant," Cyndi replied.

Yova exited Cyndi's office and walked over and touched the bridge engineering station with a smile on his face. Tapping the duty officer there he then entered the lift to go down to main engineering.
