The doors to Sickbay swished smoothly open to reveal a very tired and pale looking Christina. The early stages of pregnancy were already taking a hard toll on her body, she had severe morning sickness so much so that she was even having problems keeping water down.

She hadn’t stepped too far inside Sickbay before her legs gave out, she was lucky that a nearby nurse had seen her coming. Rushing across she’d managed to catch Christina before she’d hit the floor. “I need some help in here!”

Kristian had been in her office updating some charts when she heard one of her staff yell for help. Dropping the PADD Kristian bolted from her office to see Christina who was laying on the floor. Picking her up Kristian carried her over to the nearest bio-bed much to the surprise of her nurses "What the hell happened?"

"She just collapsed," the nurse said

"Christina what's wrong, being pregnant not agreeing with you?" Kristian asked gently as she scanned her. "Lie back and rest, I'm going to start an I.V. your dehydrated." picking up the necessary items Kristian returned to Christina and started the I.V. and hung the bag up

Christina offered an apologetic smile. “I’ve been trying every morning sickness remedy I could find!” She sighed. “I’ve been struggling to keep even water down.”

"You should have come in sooner or have me called I do make house calls," Kristian teased "As for remedies to morning sickness, I don't know of any. Everyone is different, but I can give you something that will help. But there is nothing I can do to make it go away. I did my residency on Denobula and they brew a special tea that helps."

Chrissy offered a tired smile. “Right now I’ll try anything that helps me to feel better. Would you contact my husband, let him know I’m here please?”

Kristian turned to one of her nurses "Contact Major Hurd, inform him his wife's in sick bay. Tell him she's fine, just pregnancy sickness," turning to another nurse Kristian handed her a packet "Brew this in a cup of warm water and bring it to me STAT"

Both nurses went off in different directions. The second one returned a few minutes later and handed Kristian the cup of tea.

"Drink this," Kristian said helping Christina sit up and handed her the cup of tea.

Christina nodded, taking the cup she gently held it and sipped the contents. After losing so much in the way of fluids she was so thirsty, but she was careful not to gulp down the tea.

Kristian ran several scans, pocketed her tri-coder and walked to her office and returned with a blanket and covered Christina with it. "I'm keeping you here at least overnight so I can keep an eye on you."

Christina nodded as she handed Kristian the cup of ginger tea, she’d drunk all she could manage for now. “I appreciate that, thank you.”

Hurd came running in with two of his men a few moment's later. Looking at his his beautiful wife, he said, tears steaming down his face, "Baby, what's wrong, are you ok!?"

Chrissy offered her husband a tired smile, “I’m okay, just having a problem with morning sickness. Doctor Long wants me to stay, at least overnight.”

"I want her where I can keep an eye on her, she's dehydrated due to the fact she's not able to keep anything down," Kristian said

Pointing to the two men with him, Hurd said, "You two outside, nobody but Medical Personnel and Personnel with level 5 or above access to this room, anyone else, all use of force is authorized to keep them out unless its a Medical Emergency" Walking over to his Wife, he ran his hand through her hair, kissed her, and said, "I love you my beautiful wife".

Christina smiled. “I love you too David. Is the guard detail really needed? It’s not like we’re expecting any trouble.”

"Major I understand wanting to keep her safe, sick bay is the safest place on the ship. A level 5 security setting means only lieutenants or above, and my rights that level is above me as well. But as ACMO I can be in here. By posting guards and that high of a security setting means sick bay is closed. I'm sorry major but I cannot permit that your going to have to remove the guards," Kristian said firmly.

Christina looked at her husband, “It’ll be alright, I’m perfectly safe here".

Looking at his Wife, he smiled and turned back to Long. "Let me tell you a story Doctor". " A very long time ago, I was part of a organization you would know as Section 31, who saw themselves as protectors of the Federation, which I can assure you they are not". Hurd clenched his jaw as he continued. "I was involved in some bad things, and it got so bad, I left, and because of that, I, and all those I serve with and love, are hunted. Clenching his jaw, he continued, " So the Guards stay, and I'm putting a QRF on standby"

"Then major please explain to me how I can function with sick bay. This level 5 security is above my clearance as well. I have a phaser in my office, I know how to use it," Kristian said "I'm only the ACMO and that does give me some freedom but not level 5 security clearance," Kristian commented

"As the Marine Commander, and Second Officer of the ship, I Herby grant you level 5 clearance as of now", Hurd said in in a relaxed voice. " Please retrieve, and carry your sidearm at all times until further ordered, understood? "

Kristian raised an eyebrow but said nothing "Understood, I'll be right back." Turning she headed for her office, opened the desk drawer, removed her phaser and dropped it into the pocket of her labcoat and returned to to Christiana's side and scanned her again "I want you to sleep, I'm going to give you something to make you sleep and no it won't harm the baby,"

Christina nodded in agreement before offering her husband a smile.

Kissing her gently, Hurd said, "I love you baby, and trust me, you are safe here, get some rest". Turning back to Long, he said, in a kind tone, " Doctor, I don't mean to be a ass or come in in here and take over your sickbay, please forgive me if I came off as rude or condescending ".

Kristian pressed a hypo against Christina's neck and looked up to the major once she was asleep. "Major I respect you and your concern for her safety. But you need to understand she's safe in here. We're in dock at Mars Station, Commodore Song will do everything in her power to keep everyone on this ship safe. My planet went through an unspeakable and devastating attack and invasion fifteen years ago that lasted two years. Myself, my cousin and Alesha's mother led attacks to free my aunt, our Queen from the Romulan's who held her captive. Some day sir I'll tell you what Amzock went through. It was not pretty or easy for us. I swore an oath to Starfleet and to Starfleet Medical. I won't let anyone hurt her or anyone else in here. The guards are really not necessary but it's your call not mine and I do understand. I ask you to trust me."
