Cyndi after seeing Narla safely to VIP quarters returned to her office, tapped her com-badge "Commander Kahn, Lieutenants Rivers, Herculoid and Long report to my ready room."
Having been out on the Bridge at the Tactical console, chatting with the officer there and working together to reset the internal sensors, Kahn glanced up at the ceiling, then gave a slight grin to her Security officer. "Well, Washburn, seems I am needed elsewhere. See what you can do about alacrity for system switch-overs."
Ensign David Washburn returned the mirthful expression, yet seri9ous all in the same breath. "Of course, Commander." He gave a playful nod towards the Ready Room. "Don't be late." The grin got bigger as he gave his snark.
Kahn rolled her eyes and shook her head -pseudo-derisively, waving her hand behind her bum as if she had just blown off before walking away. A subtle, under the table gesture between friends and comrades. As Liza approached the office door it opened and she strode inside, seeing Song standing just inside her office from her private bathroom. "You wanted to see me, Ma'am?"
Before Cyndi could answer Tara, Alesha and Kristian entered.
"Is there a problem?" Tara asked
"Not a problem but what I'm going to say to the four of you does not leave this office," Cyndi said.
Liza simply quirked an eyebrow at the Commodore's statement. "I am XO and Security Chief, Cyndi. Even if I weren't told not to talk about whatever it is you have to say, I still wouldn't talk about it with the crew. Unless, of course, it was treasonous." She wanted to grin at her little joke, but she couldn't find it in herself to do so. This was not the time.
"General Narla Long is aboard, she's going to be observing Major Hurd. She's concerned about his behavior. She's read my reports and is wondering why he didn't go through his anger management that I ordered," Cyndi said looking at the three Amazon officers "I know the three of you know her, she's going to be in civilian attire and does not want anyone to let on she's here."
"My mum's here?" Kristian asked trying to keep the excitement out of her voice as she looked at her cousin and then to Alesha then back to the commodore.
"We'll keep this between us, but can we see her?" Tara asked
Cyndi nodded "She wants to see all three of you, I also have her permission to tell my husband."
Liza cleared her throat slightly. "To keep her presence here on the down-low, I would suggest you three visit her alone, at separate times. Don't break routines or it will get noticed."
"And do not speak to her in public in your native language as the three of you and the general are the only ones aboard who speak it," Cyndi stressed
Kristian nodded "That would be a dead give away that's for sure."
"We'll be careful," Tara agreed "It's been a long time since I've seen my aunt."
"Same here, I'm really no relation but my mum is a good friend of Tara and Kristian's mum they think I'm family." Alesha said
"You ARE family," Tara and Kristian said in unison.
"Thank you for letting me know, Commodore," said Kahn. "I'll let you lot decide amongst yourselves how to proceed. Should you need me I'll be on the Bridge." Giving a nod of farewell to each of the others in turn, Liza then spun on her heel and left the Ready Room. Her part in it, the secrecy, had been established. The family portion from the others, not her concern. Arriving back at the Tactical station she and Washburn continued to look at various systems.
"You three are dismissed as well. If you want to meet her for dinner privately it needs to be done in one of your quarters, preferably not yours Rivers as yours are on the marine deck and it cannot be near the VIP quarters as that is where she's at. Any of you go there it also will be a giveaway," Cyndi said
"Understood commodore," Alesha said
Tara, Kristian and Alesha left Cyndi's office and headed on their way. Tara returned to the bridge science station trilled that her aunt was aboard.
