Mission:
Shore Leave on Klavor
Location: USS Amandora
Timeline: Concurrent
Thoros looked up as the short range shuttle landed near his cabana. He had waited for over a month for a Federation ship to arrive.
The Klavor had been very hospitable to him but when word reached him that a federation starship was in orbit he immediately made radio contact.
(/\) Lt Thoros this is the USS Amandora respond....please.(/\) said a shuttle pilot from Amandora.
" I am here awaiting your arrival." the Klingon officer said into his own comm badge.
Thoros rushed out of his cabana with back pack in hand to the field directly ahead.
" Welcome to the Amandora Lieutenant." the pilot said.
" This is a shuttle." Thoros asked.
' Hey I am the welcoming committee." joked the humanoid male pilot.
Landing in the hanger bay the shuttle landed and the pilot and new operations chief made their way to the bridge.
The left console on the bridge was operations and Thoros did not wait to occupy the empty seat. The duty officer joined his side and grunted.
" I am Thoros and this is my post."
" Not until you are cleared by sickbay Lieutenant. Mr Windham please escort our new ops officer to sickbay."
Thoros grunted but followed the one called Windham to sickbay.
Kristian hearing the doors to sick bay open, walking out of her office "I'm the ACMO Doctor Long, how can I help you?"
" I have to have a passing physical. On the Hamilton the Doctor always passed me. I am fine." Thoros told the female doctor.
"Have a seat on that bio bed," Kristian said nodding to one "Do you have your recent physical from the Hamilton?"
Thoros looked into Longs eyes and then answered her. " The Doctor always said I passed. I have no health issues that I can not handle."
"Perhaps lieutenant, but I answer to a boss, the same first officer and commodore you will. If I don't give you a boarding physical I can get in trouble," Kristian said "So save us both a hassle and fill me in on anything I need to know, the scans will show it anyway."
" I have a broken but healed lower back. It was fused on the Horizon. I also have numerous phaser wounds. I like to train. I also got a right finger paper cut...Doctor." Thoros answered.
Kristian ran the scans and frowned at the way his lower back had been fused "I wish you'd have been aboard this ship. I could have repaired that for you. The phaser wounds have healed nicely. But as for your back I can undo the fusing and repair the injury if you'd like me to."
" That would debilitate me for a length of time. I just joined the ship. I can not look weak on my first day Doctor." Thoros replied.
"It will only have you down for two days," Kristian said "You change your mind come see me. Just don't wait too long, the longest you should wait is six months possibly a year."
" How long will this ship be in orbit of Klavor?" Thoros then asked.
"I'm not sure, I've cleared the commodore for duty, she's not aboard yet. I'm going to assume another twenty four hours," Kristian replied "Possibly a little longer, it's really up to her."
" Doctor if you can assure me that you can make me more whole I say Yes to the surgery?"
"I've done it in the past, and it's not a difficult procedure," Kristian said "It'll take me about an hour to do it."
" Then I am ready." Thoros replied
"The operating room is in the back, follow me and we'll get started," Kristian said as she led the way to the operating room, Kristian stopped long enough to change and pick up the necessary equipment "I need your shirt off, lie down on the bio bed on your stomach."
Thoros was not embarrassed as he was sure the humanoid had seen a Klingon's anatomy before.
" Please do not be embarrassed Doctor. My genitals are average for ." Thoros joked.
Kristian grinned "I'd hope so," picking up a hypo-spray she loaded it with a strong sleep agent and pressed it against his neck as she hooked up the monitors. "You'll feel sleepy in minutes, don't fight it."
" I am a Klingon...nothing can...kno....me " and then he was out.
Once he was asleep Kristian set to work, first to un-funse his back and then to repair the injury that the doctor on the Hamilton had fused Thoro's back. While dealing with a persons back was always tricky Kristian knew she could fix the damage and have him back on his feet in a day or two. An hour later the surgery was over. Her patient was doing fine. Giving him a mild stimulant to wake him up Long watched the monitors closely.
Thoros groggily awoke and then attempted to move but the in place static shield prevented him from doing so.
" Release me...Now," Thoros yelled aggressively. " I am unable to move."
"Relax!" Kristian said firmly "I'll release you in a few minutes, I'm going to run a few more scans and then I'll release you and help you sit up. The more you thrash the longer I'm going to keep you restrained."
" If this does not work please kill me. I was fine when I boarded." Thoros replied.
"Ye of little faith, your going to be fine, it worked, Kristian said switching the viewer so he could see it. Another scan and Kristian nodded "It's good, your going to need to take it easy for two days. No lifting anything over fifteen pounds, give this a chance to heal. Let me help you sit up," she released the restraints and held out her hand
Thoros grabbed Kristian's hand and pulled her very close to himself. Sliding his left leg down he stood and again held tight to Kristin.
Kristian put her arm around his waist "How do you feel? Any pain?"
" It feels..better. Thank you Doctor." Thoros replied before aching. " I am in your debt."
"I want you to go to your quarters and rest, come see me tomorrow. Are you in pain? Don't be like all the Klingons I've served with over the years. If your hurting I need to know."
" I will Doctor. You have my word of honor."
"You better," Kristian warned
Thoros left sickbay on his own power but he did look back and smiled at Kristian.
