Commander O'Connell was at Tactical as they arrived at McKinley Outpost and overheard the gentleman's invitation to the Commodore about meeting.

Jamie was very concerned about Cyndi leaving the Ship since he knew her attitude about a Security detail going with her. Had this been his previous Ship he wouldn't hesitate sharing his feelings about the situation.....but it wasn't.....nonetheless his job required him to say something even if it wasn't well received.

The Commander swallowed hard then took a deep breath as he walked over to the Big Chair "Excuse me Commodore.....but could we have a word, at your convenience of course" he queried being a little nervous at the moment.

Cyndi looked at Jamie and nodded "I sense this is important , let's take it to my ready room," Getting to her feet Cyndi led the way to her ready room and took a seat at her desk and waited for Jamie to take a seat. "What's on your mind commander?"

Jamie sat for a moment collecting his thoughts "Commodore, Commander Green informed me some time ago that you aren't too keen on having security with you when off Ship. With respect, knowing that you are a strong and determined Officer I may have a compromise" he stated trying to read her face.

"I never have been fond of security even as a child on my home planet," Cyndi said as she reached into her pocket and laid her phaser on her desk "I'm armed at all times, but recent events on the ship have caused me to do some re-thinking on security. What is your compromise?"

Jamie was very pleased to hear Cyndi say that "Even though you are armed, we now have two very talented Infiltration Specialists who are well able not only to protect themselves but more importantly you as well. They can be minimally armed since they themselves are a weapon. I would strongly suggest having at least one if not both of them with you for your protection whenever you're off the Ship" he concluded waiting to see what sort of response he was about to receive.

"One will be more than enough, I'd say I'd go with Paul but as I've been reminded he's retired," Cyndi replied "And as Paul would remind me and so would Green I'm a commodore now and Starfleet has a lot of time invested in me."

O'Connell had to grin at Cyndi's last remark "And I'm sure Star Fleet has more than received their money's worth from you" he replied "I'll speak to Commander Green and have Lieutenant JG Dunjen assigned for your trip to the Outpost since word has it that she has helped you out before."

Cyndi nodded as she picked up her weapon and returned it to her pocket "She has at that. I'm not sure when I'll be beaming down, Rivers is going to be doing a flyby to check things out especially with some of the reports that have come in. I hope the reports of pirates are not true and especially Eddie Brisco."

The Commander's jaw dropped "Did you just say Brisco may be involved?" he replied feeling his Irish temper starting to kick in " Years ago that worthless piece of crap damn near killed me and would have succeeded if it wasn't for Heather" he replied not believing what he was hearing.

"I did say Eddie Brisco, he's EX Starfleet and someone not to be taken lightly. He always manages to escape. The only bait I know that can lure him to let his guard down even a slight bit is his daughter or his EX Girlfriend. She's terrified of him," Cyndi said.

"Let me just say, after having personal dealings with that son of a bitch, if I wasn't in Star Fleet I would hunt that scum bag down and put an end to him once and for all.....I'd probably be doing the Galaxy a favor" Jamie stated matter of factly then paused before continuing "Now that I've heard this I'm very glad you agreed to take Nix Dunjen with you.....Brisco is just plain nasty with no regard for anyone but himself.

"He is nasty, Brisco as far as I know has never killed anyone. He's cunning and ruthless. There's a big bounty out for him. No one has been able to capture him and those that have he somehow manages to escape," Cyndi said "I'm not afraid of him, in a strange way I respect him. Do not let your guard down."

"You don't have to tell me when it comes to him......I'd just like to see someone take him out for good.....I've probably taken up enough of your time Commodore.....thank you for hearing me out" O'Connell replied with a smile.

"Anytime commander," Cyndi said.

The Commander stood and made his way back to the Tactical Console feeling quite relieved concerning the Commodore.....but not so much about Brisco.
