Post Number 8 The Morning After

Paul woke up just as the sun was coming up, Cyndi was laying with her head on his shoulder, her long red hair fell on the on the fur blanket covering them. Carefully he moved her head onto a pillow. Propping up on his elbow he watched her as she slept. They’d shared a passion filled night of lovemaking. Smiling at her as she slept Paul leaned down and brushed a gentle kiss on her lips, got up and quietly dressed. Paul slipped from the tent, several of the villagers were already up and going about their day. One older woman walked over to him

“Your Cyndi’s mate?” she asked

“Yes,” Paul answered “I’m Paul,”

“I’m Korin, Nankuk’s sister,” the woman said “My brother said to prepare you breakfast, would you like to eat now or wait for your mate?”

Before Paul could answer Cyndi walked up and placed her arm around his waist “I wake up and your gone,” Cyndi said “Good morning Korin,”

“Good morning Cyndi, I have breakfast ready if your hungry,” Korin said smiling at the couple in a knowing fashion. “I’m sure after the night you two had you must be hungry. Come.”

“Wait, what makes you think anything happened?” Paul asked

“That,” Cyndi said pointing to a sign above the tent that just ready ‘Love Tent’ That Paul is how she knew as I’m sure everyone in the village knows.”

“You mean?” Paul asked starting to turn red from embarrassment. “We were set up.”

“You were,” Korin admitted “My brother sensed how tired Cyndi was and that she needed time alone with you so he had the ‘Love Tent’ readied for you two and I assume it worked.”

Cyndi blushed as well “Yes Korin it did, we thank you.”

They followed Korin to a table that overlooked a lake and took seats. “I bring breakfast.”

A few minutes later she returned with dishes of food that consisted of fresh fruits, meat, eggs, and juice and set them on the table in front of them.

Cyndi and Paul ate breakfast chatting about the planet and the night they'd shared. When breakfast was done Cyndi got up walked off a short distance and contacted the ship checking if anything needed her attention or return. After being assured things were okay she returned to where Paul was as he stood looking over the lake, seeing Cyndi walk up he reached over, too her hand and pulled her closer to him where he wrapped his arm around her waist.

"The ship okay?" Paul asked

"She's fine," Cyndi said putting her arm around Paul as they started walking along the beach. "I should have known when we got into that tent what Nankuk had set up for us. That tent is usually only used for the wedding night."

"Well since he'd never met me I guess that's what it was for," Paul commented kissing her. "What do you want to do today?"

"I should check on Walker as I've never left him out like this, then I'd like to take you to the waterfall and lake it empties into. You'd not believe the view. But we'll need to change as it is a jungle and we don't need to be eaten by insects or cut on the foliage. The scientist in me is starting to come out and how often to I get to be a scientist these days?" Cyndi replied

"Then let's head back and change," Paul said as they headed back toward the village.
