{Akira Ship}

The Away Team materialized aboard the ship in a secluded area; now it was up to West and his people to get the job done.

West called up his hud and quickly identified any hostiles within several meters of their position. With silent hand signals, he sent two to the right and two to the left. Several seconds later, two unidentified human males lay unconscious on the deck and he motioned for the group to move forward.

Dunjen had point using her Tech, and her Symbiont, to see far enough ahead to avoid any unexpected surprises while Devroe held the rear guard position to avoid anyone from sneaking up behind the group.

Starfleet tech was the pinnacle of sophistication. Despite the general mandate of peacefulness, when Starfleet invested creating tools for the military, specifically the marines, they could be devastating in their efficiency.

Such was the body armor and tactical hud Trace was using. Using a combination of tricorder and transporter technology, it could identify friend from foe, animate from inanimate and, in most cases, hostile from non hostile combatants.

That was why it was so shocking when the technology failed. Somehow, Brisco had anticipated their advantage, and turned it against them.

Adversaries materialized around them out of thin air, undetected by the hud. Trace felt a disruptor blast hammer into his body armor from behind, and several hostiles appeared down the corridor both in front of and behind them.

"Contact!" He shouted, giving up any hope of remaining undetected.

Dunjen took cover and was firing her phaser trying to take out as many as possible to hopefully even the odds; now it was time to shoot to kill.

Meanwhile Devroe took out the guy that had fired on the 1st Lieutenant for good. Now she would circle around and get behind the opposing force and start eliminating as many as possible. Heather was almost in position when another one came around the corner.....she gave him a martial arts kick to the chest which knocked him off his feet then finished him off with her phaser; then she moved into position. Wanting to remain undetected she reached into her vest and started firing throwing stars and was taking them out one by one without the others really noticing.

West unleahed a barrage from his heavy phaser rifle, sending pulses of red into the enemy line. In moments, their path was clear. His HUD told him the most direct path to the turbolift. Their first order of business was to take the bridge.

"Let's move." He said, and headed forward. They reached the lift with little resistance and piled into it. When the doors hissed shut, however, it didn't move.

Trace frowned, then remembered the lift would be coded to ship personnel. "Dunjen," he said, indicting the panel near the door. "We'll need an override to get us to the bridge."

[[Bridge]]

"Boss they're in the lift." Celeste said, her hand tightening on her pistol.

"Let them get up here," Eddie said standing, and turning to face the lift doors a grin on his face.

[[Turbolift]]

"Aye 1st Lieutenant" Nix replied as she grabbed a piece of Tech then proceeded to override the Lift when she heard Dunjen

"Nix they're waiting for you on the Bridge; it could be a trap."

Nix stopped the Lift and turned to Trace "Sir I have a strong feeling we're about to walk into a trap."

Trace frowned inside his helmet. Trap or no trap he had some of the best fighters in Starfleet at his side, and now was no time to hesitate. Still, he'd seen these two in action and he'd seen them do things they shouldn't be able to, know things they shouldn't. Maybe there was some Betazoid mumbo jumbo going on that he didn't understand.

"Fine." He said, reluctantly. "We'll take the jeffries tubes."

He motoned for them all to stand back, using his HUD to access ship blueprints for an Akira Class Starship and find the appropriate spot, then used his powered armor to punch a hole through the side of the turbolift and widen it large enough for them to pass through.

Climbing out, he grabbed on to the ladder and started climbing. Within a few moments, they had reached the Bridge access hatch. Sliding over so she had room, he motioned for Dunjen to override the security protocols and get it opened.

"Be ready for anything, fleeters are a sneaky and underhanded lot," Eddie said leaning against the command chair watching and waiting.

Nix did her magic and moments later the hatch was ready to be breached as Heather whispered to her "Once we get inside the Bridge one or both of us needs to take Brisco out before he has time to react" she stated knowing just what a lowlife he actually was. Nix trusted her partner's instincts and nodded in agreement.

Trace nodded and took point, trusting his battle armor to give him a few more seconds of time than would be afforded the others. Once he opened the hatch and stepped through, several things happened at once.

Time seemed to slow down as Trace's HUD identified two hostiles, both completely surprised that they were emerging from a jeffries tube instead of the turbolift. He squeezed off two pulse rounds at each of them before stepping over to the side to give those behind him room to gain the bridge. At the same moment, several unseen hostiles emerged from the shadows at the edges of the bridge and opened fire on their group. Trace took two blasts but kept moving, his armor's shields at 60% power. With a wide arcing spray of phaser pulses, he took down two more as Nix and Durjen did their work.

Dunjen and Devroe stepped through the hatch and Heather looked for Brisco......there he was by the Captain's chair. Brisco looked up and saw Heather and reached for his weapon but as he extended his arm Heather let a throwing star fly and nailed him right in the arm.

Meanwhile Nix was taking out the rest of the Bridge Crew, that Trace didn't get to yet, as they fired on her. Finally one massive guy threw down his phaser and rushed up to Nix "Really?" she stated then unleashed 'a can of whoop ass' on the guy and neutralized him quickly.

Heather walked up to Brisco "So did you miss me" she asked sarcastically as she grabbed him and threw him in the chair with great satisfaction.

"I should have ended you years ago you bitch and your worthless excuse for a man" Brisco shouted then gritted his teeth from the pain now in his arm.

Heather got right in his face "Any day you think you can take me out your more than welcome to try......and as for Jamie.....he twice the man you could even dream of becoming" as she slapped his injured arm.

"I surrender." He said, gingerly touching the area of his arm with a throwing star sticking out of it. Celeste, his companion lay unconscious on the deck, but she was breathing. "Take me to your leader." He said, chuckling to himself. As Heather took placed restraints on him, his female companion and the rest of the bridge crew, Trace scanned the bridge computer and whistled in response.

"What is it; what's that scumbag been up to" Heather asked with some concern in her voice.

Trace frowned as he continued checking systems. "According to this, Brisco had the command codes for the Warbird. He could have taken us out at any moment, tore right through our shields. Hell, he could have intercepted our transporter beam and redirected it into space. Why didn't he?"

Heather smirked. "Lack of imagination or stupidity?"

Trace shook his head. "I don't think so. In any case, it's up to the Commodore now. Let's get off this boat, we got what we came for."

With that, the away team returned to the Nanclus.
