Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Sick Bay and Kristian's Office
Timeline: Current
ON:
Once the body of Tore had been moved to the morgue Kristian sent a message to the bridge to inform Cyndi of his death. The infants had been tended to and their needs taken care of. Tore had been her mentor and guide. Things in sick bay had quieted down after the battle. Kristian had retreated to her office for a few minutes. Her ankle what throbbing as she’d been on it over 24 hours straight. She allowed herself a few seconds of sorrow over Tore’s death. She’d seen the XO go back to see Tore’s body and had then seen Ro leave after her sobs had quieted down.
Kristian brushed away several tears that had fallen as she quietly slipped from her office and made her way back to where the bodies of Kahn and Tore were. While she was used to death as any doctor was had hit her hard. Pulling back the cover over both Tore and Kahn Kristian took both of their hands in hers and offered a special prayer for both of them that was meant to honor them. Amazon’s had a unique prayer they used for death of a friend and that was the one Long said over the two of them, placing their hands back over them she pulled the covers over them.
Brushing away a few more tears Kristian walked back to sick bay and checked on several patients. “I’ve got some charting to do,” Kristian said to several of the nurses, seeing them nod Kristian grabbed the PADDS and headed for her office trying hard not to limp as her ankle throbbed in protest to being on her feet this long.
Once in her office Kristian walked over to a locked cabinet, unlocked it and removed a hypo-spray, loaded it with a strong painkiller and anti-inflammatory, grabbed an ice pack, walked to her desk, pulled off her boots and injected the hypo-spray into her thigh. Grabbing a stool Kristian propped her sore ankle on it and covered her ankle with the ice pack to let her ankle rest as she set to work on charts and entered them into the computer.
When she got to Tore’s chart Kristian couldn’t hold it back any longer, grabbing several Kleenex she let the tears fall. The very doctor who had been her mentor and friend lay only a short distance away from her in the morgue, he’d recommended her for the position of CMO and the promotion that had come with it. Sighing she dried her tears after a few minutes and resumed updating charts.
When she finished her plans were to go to her quarters for a hot shower, bite to eat and some badly needed sleep. Her staff could get along without her for a few hours.
