#79 Doing Her Duty/Rescuing Drifters

Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: USS Euphrates
Timeline: current/somewhere in between
ON:
Being new to the crew, and Starfleet, Ainkara had decided to stay aboard the Amandora while she was undergoing needed dock repairs. She had been placed in the engineering department as her Secondary posting, knowing all about warp drive and all other technology on the Federation level. So, with her positions secured she began to read up on the Galaxy class schematics, and with an Eidetic memory, it would be nearly impossible to forget.
As per Starfleet designation a science officer's primary responsibility was analyzing, observing and theorizing explanations for strange or seemingly unexplainable circumstances in such a way as to provide answers. Then supply the commanding officer with all reports, observations, and speculations that might affect the safety of their vessel. As for the engineering post, that was readily apparent in the very name of the position. So, theory and fact combined into a single being. Quite logical.
Heading to the Science offices, Ainkara arrived and began to go over the science logs, determining which sensor arrays, if any, needed a complete overhaul. A starship was only as good as it 'senses', and they would need a complete set of diagnostics run. Stepping to another wall of monitors she then tapped away, using the passcodes given her at her level of security clearance. What data she could obtain as a crewman she correlated, and then sent on to the starbase engineering department. Having done that much, so far, the Voran began to look to other systems she could access and assist with.
*Meanwhile, USS Euphrates...*
Once in the back, and barely getting their over shirts off, Silk stopped and shook his head. "Wait, hold on. Here I am thinking like a marine in the field. Commander, we don't need suits. We can set up a sterile field right here in the back. The table is wide enough, hopefully, for two humanoid bodies. Encircle the table in the field, beam them site-to-site, and I can scan them directly for anything dangerous."
Green gave a chuckle of embarrassment. "Ya know, I didn't think of that, either, Doc. Alright, get your field set and I'll let the others know." Green went forward while silk got the field set up and ready for activation.
Kirk and Resch were both relieved to hear that they would not have to open the door just yet. Not only in case of contagions, but also because there were certain species in the galaxy that just did not smell all that good, especially when on their own ships. Neither wanted to smell the funk of some long, lost crew who had been in space for who know how long. But, it was their duty, and despite their misgivings, they would do what they had to to comply.
Green had returned to the aft section, and when Silk gave the nod, she told Kirk to beam the two people over to the coordinates Sean had marked, side by side, if she could. With perfection the two beings appeared, enclosed within the safety of a sterile field and Silk began to run his medical tricorder over them from a meter away.
The two beings were very human in appearance, with slight bony ridges around the eye sockets, and a thin ridge running down the nose. Other than that there was not much difference to their appearance. However, internal differences were to be expected, with organ placement and such. Both wore an all white
Silk spoke up, his tricorder still scanning. "No pathogens or contagions detected. No dangerous isotopes or chemicals." His eyes lit up with a bit more positive in them. "Their life signs are getting stronger. Seems we were just in time."
Ro looked relieved when he said that. "Good. Do what you need to, Sean. Let them wake on their own and call us when you're ready. I'm sure they'll be frightened by the strange looking aliens around them."
"Will do," Said Silk, his reply half-hearted as he focused on his patients.
