#89 Her Own Downtime

Posted on Thu Dec 15th, 2022 @ 12:11pm by Captain Rogue Green {Meji}

Mission: BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Planet Tuura
Timeline: current

ON:

After seeing both Resch and Kirk go into the Euphrates to get their own sleep, Ro Green stepped from the hospital and took a walk in the evening air. It was a warm night and a all the smells of a planet were to be enjoyed. Meandering this way and that she came upon a small park built within the base security walls for personnel to enjoy while off duty. With the current crisis to the planet Tuura it did not surprise her to find the park empty since a great many of the base's inhabitants had people who had either passed away, or were being treated as best they could. Silk had provided the Tuuran with several pain relievers and symptom nullifiers, even inputting the data into their computers so they could synthesize the medications as needed. This society was on the cusp of warp discovery, their technology only slightly behind Earth and others. To see them in such dire straits was both heart rending and unfortunate.

Leaving the pavement for the grass beneath her boots, Ro found a good spot beneath a tree to sit lotus and meditate. Hands in her lap and closing her eyes Green began to slip down into the well of her being, the very heart of the subconscious. There she could access the Core, and did so, reaching out with it to check on the ambient state of the galaxy as she knew it. Her mind went into a stark white nothingness, allowing mind and body to heal after the strain of the past few days. Being who she was, essentially an Augment due to strange Reman science, she did not require much sleep, nor down time. What little she allowed herself was for contemplation and reflection, even while she slept. Along with the standard equipment on her belt she had brought her saber with her, now hooked to it.

The tragedy of all around her was intensified as she reached out with the Core, stretching out with her feelings. She would not extend it out beyond Tuura, not wanting Jynxza to detect the ripples in the Core as it was used. Knowing the Chulakan she would dive at the chance to help eliminate an entire population, feeding on their fear and anguish as Ro fed on their sorrow. The Dark aspects of the Core were quicker, easier, and more seductive, but no more powerful than the aspects of the Light. Yin and Yang, in a nutshell.

Continuing to meditate and re-up her body for the coming day, Green remained in her meditative trance, with the Core as her security barrier. Anyone, or anything, approaching would be detected and seen to.
