Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: USS Amandora
Timeline: current
ON:
Niraasha Whisperwind stepped through her Eldritch portal, back aboard the USS Amandora, and home. Her left hand held the right hand of her daughter Seraasha Whisperwind, the girl being a smaller version of her mother. Sera was the size of the average five year old Human child, but one could tell that she was fully capable in her physique, walking perfectly and her senses on high, ears and whiskers waving around like her mother's to take in the immediate environment. They had appeared in shuttle bay 2, with several crew looking their way as the portal opened up with the ring of amber sparks before they stepped through.
"Nira! Good to see you." One of the human female ensigns stepped forward, knowing her crew mate enough to greet her. "And, who is this?"
Nira gave a smile as she relinquished her daughter's hand and squatted next to her. "This is Seraasha, my daughter. Sean Silk is her father. Like me she goes by a short version of her name; Sera."
Ensign Dani McClain went to a knee before the girl. "A pleasure to meet you, Sera. I am Dani. Your mother and I are friends."
Sera had been watching this strange creature with interest, especially after hearing the female speak her mother's name. Her ears and eyebrows had gone taught, on alert, not knowing how to react. As the woman spoke, her tone easy and friendly, the ears and browse went back to their weaving, with slightly less gusto. She looked at her mother.
"Go ahead, Sera," Nira urged. "Say hello. You know their language." Genetic memory was a part of the cloning process for having children on Puaza.
"Hello," said Sera, her own accent like her mother's, sounding like a cross between latino and eastern European with trilled R's and such. "A pleasure to meet you."
"She's a doll," said McClain as she stood back up, being matched by Nira. "She seems nervous, which is to be expected when surrounded by strangers." She looked at Sera again. "No need to worry, little one. Everyone aboard will do you no harm." Dani could not help but smile at the girl, not only for the happiness she felt for meeting her, but also because she was an exact twin of her mother, even in the smaller form.
"I'm hungry." Sera said this without preamble. Her interest in the woman now over with as she began to look around at the expansive bay and the surrounding technology. "Where is food?"
"We will go eat, Daughter," Nira assured her. "Come, this way." She looked to McClain. "We shall see you later." McClain gave a nod and returned to her maintenance crew while the two Puazi left the bay and entered the corridors proper. Everyone they passed, who served on Amandora and knew Nira, grinned and smiled, waving or saying hello to the little one as they passed.
"Mother, I don't know these beings," stated Sera. "Yet, they greet me with happiness and joy. It is...confusing."
Nira gave a laugh and looked down at her beloved child. "They know me, Sera. Therefore, they see me in you and can put together that you are my progeny. We have to get you registered as aboard and part of the crew now. The rules of Starfleet, Daughter. And, you'll need an examination to make sure you are healthy enough to be aboard." She gave a cheeky grin.
"Our healers did enough," said Sera, her tone a tad perturbed. "I no want more pokes and prods."
Another giggle escaped Nira's lips. "I have to do it, according to rules, so you have to. Like mother, like daughter, as the Matriarch would say."
"Where is father?" Asked Sera, listening to her mother but wanting to change the subject away from medical examinations.
"He will return soon," answered Nira. "We were supposed to meet him there but I decided to get you settled first. This way we can enjoy being family without all the minor directives getting in the way." After going through the ship for a good few minutes Nira finally gave another grin. "Ahh, here we are. The main lounge. We can have all you want to eat in here."
Sera gave a smile of her own finally. "Good, my tummy is growling."
~Tummy?~ Thought Nira. Sera's grasp of Federation Standard seemed to have included the short versions of words and the slang too. The pair entered the lounge, again being met with a number of hellos and greetings. Nira could not wait to get her daughter some Earth ice cream, to see what she would think. Nira, herself, loved the stuff, especially blueberry and raspberry. She hoped Sera would enjoy it too.
