Post Number 5 It's Time-Promotions

Cyndi looked over the report she'd sent to Starfleet and nodded. All of the requests had been approved. Tapping her com-badge "Will the following officers report to the lounge. I have something that I need to discuss with you. Lieutenant Saunders, and Commander Raymond."

Having finished his meeting with Counsellor Aloran, Damien was immediately called to the main Bridge. Checking up on Engineering through his padd, there were crew already on his assigned tasks for those hours he was away.

Entering the Lounge, Lt. Saunders saluted Captain Song. He then took a seat at the table, with his Engineering padd. He assumed the meeting pertained to collaborative work to be done.

“Captain, nice to see you. How are you?” Saunders asked.

"I'm well, thank you," Cyndi said

Lieutenant JG Saunders sat at the table and clasped his hands. He did not know what he was being called for with Captain Song and the Commander Raymond.


Will completed some of his staff meetings and made his way to the lounge.

Seeing the first officer enter "Commander glad you could make it," Cyndi said "Please have a seat. I suppose your both wondering why I've called you here."

" Yes ma'am. I didn't do it though." Will joked.

Cyndi did her best to keep her face serious "As a matter of fact you both have. Question is who want's this news first?"

"News." Damien was confused. He looked to the Commander. "Maybe the Commander should go first?" He furrowed a brow questioned.

"Perhaps your right," Cyndi said turning to Will. "Commander your my right hand, I could not command this ship with out you. Your invaluable to me. I've contacted Starfleet Command and put in a request and it's come through. I hereby promote you to the rank of Commander."

Will paused and then replied.

" Captain I am honored. That means I have to step up my A game. All jokes aside thank you for your confidence in me."

"Your service has been above and beyond what I could have expected," Cyndi said handing him the gold pip. She then turned to Saunders "Lieutenant Saunders you've done an outstanding job as assistant chief engineer. How would you like to be promoted to chief engineer? It will come with a promotion to full lieutenant."

Damien was happy to see the Commander promoted, and to be there when he received the good news. Even more, he was shocked. He wasn’t expecting a promotion anytime, as far as he was concerned, he was doing his job.

“Uh.” He was beside his self. “Captain Song.” He looked from the table upward, and to the newly minted Commander. “Lieutenant.” He smiled at that word. “I am honored. Thank you.” He broke into a relieved smile.

Cyndi walked over to him and handed him the gold pip "You stepped up and took charge in engineering when there was no chief. You've proven yourself and it didn't go unnoticed. I'll make it official once I get back to my office."

" Way to go, Chief," Will congratulated.

"Congratulations to both of you," Cyndi said

Hank had inquired where Cyndi was and finding her in the lounge made his way there and entered. He'd heard Cyndi congratulate both officers "I want to say congratulations to you as well."

"Gentlemen I'd like to introduce Admiral Hank Snow," Cyndi introduced giving Hank a puzzled look.

Damien thanked the Commander in return. “Thank you, Sir, Congratulations to you as well.”

He was surprised to see the Admiral. Saunders saluted his respect. “Admiral Snow.” He nodded.

"Admiral, what brings you here and better yet how did you get here," Cyndi asked

"I'm here for a very good reason," Hank said "Cyndi Song I'd like to have done this on the bridge with your officers all in attendance. But since your here with your first officer and your chief engineer this is as good as any. Captain Cyndi Song it is with great honor that I promote you to the rank of Commodore.It comes with all the rights and privileges. You deserve this and I'm to say the least very proud of you."

"Hank, I mean admiral thank you," Cyndi said the shock clear in her voice.

Will instinctively called for himself and for Lt Sanders to come to attention, followed by a salute to both flag officers.

The now full Lieutenant, Saluted the new Commodore Song along with Wills call. It was a real honor to be in the room to see this happen. Not many Officers had the chance.

"At ease both of you," Cyndi said never taking her eyes off Hank "You and I need to talk."

Hank nodded "That we do, but I'll let you finish here. I'll meet you in your ready room when your done here and all of your questions will be answered then." With that he turned and left the lounge.

Cyndi turned to face her officers and finally let out the breath she'd been holding "Someone tell me that didn't just happen? Either way nothing will change. I'm still your commanding officer. Anyone have any questions?"

" Congratulations Commodore. This is big if you are being promoted to Commodore way out here near the galactic center." Will commented.

"I am as stunned as you are and I intend to find out just what is going on. Unless there are more questions I think we're done here. And congratulations to both of you again," Cyndi commented.
