Post Number 22 Away Team Status Reports

Posted on Tue Feb 21st, 2023 @ 8:13pm by Commodore Cyndi Song & Commander Jamie O'Connell & Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Major Jackson "JJ" Barnes {Meji} & Warrant Officer Shannon Money {Meji}

Mission: Vanished
Location: Ready Room
Timeline: Current

ON:

Cyndi had paced for several minutes as she looked at the ships and base that were seemingly deserted. Word had come in that Commander O'Connell had returned to the ship. Tapping her com-badge "Commander O'Connell report to the bridge." Looking to communications. "Open a channel to Rivers, Money."

O'Connell was down in Security helping SanChez finish up the official report to be sent to Command when he heard Cyndi's call. Tapping his Comm "On my way Commodore" then he turned to Maria "You got this?" he queried as Maria gave him a thumbs up.

Commander O'Connell made his way to to Cyndi's Ready Room; since the door was open Jamie walked in greeting Cyndi "Good afternoon Commodore I'm sure your curious on what we found on the Ohio."

"Good afternoon commander and your right I am waiting to hear about what you've found. As soon as Commander Green gets here I'll open channels with the fighters and the star base," Cyndi said.

Ro entered the Bridge from the conference room, having been conferring with Barnes and his group, and Ainkara via the Force. She could not see where her apprentice was, but could see the woman herself, as she was following her Sense to the bowels of the station itself; alone. Entering the Ready Room Green gave nods to her friends and comrades. "Apologies for being tardy. I was talking with Ainkara."

Piped through the speakers, Money's voice came through. "Warrant Money here, Sirs. You called?" Cosmo was heard bleeping in the background. "Cozzy says hi."

"That's what I wanted to discuss," Cyndi said "Commander O'Connell has returned from the Ohio, there's been no word from West or Hurd's teams. And yes Money I did call," Cyndi trying not to giggle. "Tell Cozzy hi from us. Barnes, Money, Rivers and O'Connell what have you to report?"

""It's quiet commodore," Alesha spoke up.

"About the same on the Ohio. We swept the entire Ship and about the only good news was the air quality if fine and free from anything that would be harmful to sentient beings" Jamie explained then went on "The one curious thing though....the Captain's chair still had a mug of coffee setting in the armrest which looked to be more than a few weeks old. Also the Security is very tight on that Ship so a level ten security clearance is needed to access any of the Ship's data; I only have a level nine unfortunately. It's like everyone was going about their business then just vanished into thin air."

Being attentive, Green listened and then began as O'Connell finished. "According to Ainkara and Barnes, the station seems to be in stasis mode. The auto distress beacon began to send out its signal after determining that there were no longer any personnel aboard. That means civilians and crew alike. As my Acolyte, Ainkara is feeling something odd, but cannot sense where. She is searching on her own while Barnes and his people continue to try and access the computer core. Like Jamie said, the air quality is good with no contagions or chemicals of any kind being detected. Team Bravo dressed down to their standard gear. Lance Corporal Jacobs is still working on opening the computer core to be scrutinized."

Money piped in when the Commander finished. "Like Rivers said, Commodore. Out here, it's quiet. Like, creepy quiet, in my opinion, Ma'am."

Green heard Cosmo pipe up and grinned, despite the seriousness of the situation. She was glad he had found the place where he belonged, in this galaxy and the other. "I too feel a bit of unease, Cyndi. Something is off and I can't quite put my finger on it."

Cyndi nodded "It's damn peculiar that's for sure. A functioning base and confirmed one ship and no one aboard. Barnes and O'Connell have either of your teams picked up any indication that the crews were beamed off? Rivers, Money any sings of a warp signature? The lack of contagion has me puzzled. No one would leave ships or a base without a valid reason. Doctor Long I want you on the base, once Barnes deems it safe. See if you can access the CMO's logs."

"Acknowledged," Kristian spoke up

"Sirs I did take a reading of the solar system, I didn't venture too far as protecting the ships, base and the Amandora came first. I didn't pick up anything, but that doesn't mean something isn't there," Alesha reported.

After listening to what had been said and discussed O'Connell chimed in "Like I mentioned earlier, it's like they all just vanished; of course we all know that just doesn't happen at least with the technology we're familiar with" Jamie explained then paused for a few moments "You know.....and this is going to sound ridiculous...what if, and this is a big if, all these people we somehow sucked into an alternate reality or universe and are still where they were....just different." Jamie was hoping he didn't sound like a raving idiot but if there was one thing he learned after all his time is Space was anything's possible.

"I don't think that sounds ridiculous, at all, Jamie," said Green, all-too-familiar with past starships that had run into similar events. "We can't rule anything out, even if it does sound crazy or inane. It could be an advanced intelligence, something along the lines of the Organians, that sort of thing. Ainkara felt ripples in the Force, which I know doesn't mean much to you lot, but it does to me. There is something hidden...aloof."

Barnes piped in. "Ladies and gentleman, Long and her medical people can come over and it seems safe. However, I have a handful of people to keep an eye on them, the core, and keep one with me. I say we get more people over here on the station, secure it, then go forth from there. Have Amandora come inside the system but do not dock. A moving command center, so to speak."

Ro gave nods of agreement, looking to her two command staff comrades. Whatever the consensus she would go along.

O'Connell thought for a brief moment "You know Mr. Barnes that sounds like sound judgement and yes I agree the Amandora should definitely not dock with the Base; I certainly wouldn't have this Crew compromised in any way" he replied.

"It's the best we can do, Commander O'Connell," stated Barnes through the speakers. "Whatever happened started here. My gut tells me so. No half cups of coffee, no half eaten food, nothing. It's like they set everything to standby and just left. Thinking they might be in some type of alternate reality gives me the heebee-jeebees, since I could, right now, be standing inside someone else if that's the case."

Green had to ask, since her own Sense was not attuned to her Acolyte at this time. "Chief, have you heard from Ainkara?"

"Negative, Commander Green," said Barnes, his tone denoting a bit of frustration over that topic. "She ordered the marines to stay with Jacobs while he worked, saying something about she needed to go alone. Where she went we have no idea since we have yet to get into the internal sensor system. Jacobs is still trying to run overrides."

"I'll have the ship moved to orbit the station in transporter range. Doctor long you'll take your team, head to sick bay and access the CMO's logs and see what you can find out there. Commander Green you'll take command of the Amandora, I'll beam over and assume command of the station," Cyndi said "We need answers and if they have been taken to a different reality then we're talking about over three to four thousand people. That does sound a little hard to believe but one never knows. I'll want a full sensor sweep of that solar system. Rivers and Money keep an eye out and once we launch shuttles to check out the solar system you'll escort them in."

Green looked to the other two. "I am using...unconventional means to communicate with Ainkara, through the Force. I say that anyone aboard with any kind of 'special' abilities needs to go over to the station. We may be able to figure things out faster with the metaphysical over the technological. Just an idea if you are both in agreement."

Cyndi was silent for a few minutes, everything Ro said was right but there was one problem "Ro, I agree with you, but there is one small problem. I'm responsible for everyone on this ship that includes the ones who cannot speak for themselves. That Ro includes the baby your carrying."

"Commodore, I'll be there and Ill keep an eye on her," Kristian spoke up. "But it is your call."

" We could have Lieutenant Devroe, being Betazed, and Lieutenant Zolon since she seems to be able to manipulate all forms of fire" Jamie suggested "Maybe together we can figure this thing out."

Ro gave a smile at everyone's worry for her safety and the safety of her twins. "Commodore, I didn't mean me. I meant others," she gestured at Jamie for what he had said. "Zolon, Devroe, those sorts of folks. This does not mean to not include the rest of our people. We all have things to contribute. I can command Amandora and keep in contact with my apprentice through my own means, as well as, through conventional means. I sense something...elusive, hidden, that may explain all this. I just hope that when we figure it out that all the station's people can be recovered alive and well, along with the ship crews." As Number One she did add in one other. "Nira could go over with O'Connell and Security. Her portals may prove useful."

"Only problem with Nira using her portals it tires her greatly," Cyndi commented "I do want that solar system investigated too. The crews may or may not be there but it warrants looking into. Command would not put a star base out here if the system was not inhabited," Cyndi commented "Jamie gather your team and head over to the base, Ro send your people over. Paul is retired but I can easily re-activate him and he can assume command of either the base or the Ohio. The Ohio will need a skeleton crew to man it. Thoughts everyone?"

"I'm good with that, Cyndi," stated Green.

"Jamie?" Cyndi asked "Next thing is to convince my husband to come out of retirement long enough to do this. The Ohio will need helm, navigation, an engineer. I think six people should be able to man it. Question is if I can convince Paul to help us what one to put him in charge of."

Considering Paul's rank, I would have him take Command of the Base" he commented then grinned "I'm sure if anyone can sweet talk Paul his wife can. With respect Commodore, then my Team and I can head over to the Ohio and I can assume Command as well; with your permission of course."

"I'll talk to Paul," Cyndi said "There's been no word from Captain West on the Horizon or Major Hurd since he went over to the Victory. Jamie I have no problem letting you take command of the Ohio and if Paul agrees to come out of retirement to take command of the base that leaves Ro and I to man the Amandora." Cyndi looked to Ro. "You have a big say in this as well."

Green gave a simple grin. "I would say everything is covered, let's do this."

"Okay assemble your teams, I'll talk to Paul and bring him up to speed. I'm sure he'll take command of the base until the crews are found. I don't need to tell anyone that includes those of you listening to keep in touch with me or Paul. Dismissed."
